In 2016 my husband and I retired from active duty army family life and planted roots in Alabama. We started a homestead from scratch, and shared that journey here on TH-cam. In 2022 we answered the call to the mountains of Arkansas, where we are starting that journey once again.

Thank you, Constance! We call this chicken fried steak fingers. Served with mashed potatoes and white peppered gravy, corn and rolls or biscuits! I try to make it every Father's Day for my husband😊

I remember on a cold day, Mom would fry cubed steak. Make a sandwich, put some mustard on it, and make homemade milk shakes! 😊😊😊😊 We were happy! I've done the same. I've also fried it, mashed potatoes, gravy made from the drippings, and some greens. 😊

Hi Constance! Love your website! I was intrigued by your recipe for cube steaks and will have to try it soon. Usually, I just brown both sides of my steaks ( after seasoning them with salt and pepper) in my cast iron Dutch oven pan, and then cover with water to which I have added sliced onions, put the lid on the pan and put them in the oven at 350 degrees and let them cook til fork tender, about 45-60 min. Then take the pan out, put them on a stove safe plate, make a roux with flour and butter, stir into the lovely broth in the pan til thickened, then put the steaks back into all that gravy. I serve this with mashed potatoes and a green veggie or two. One of my family favorites ( and great reheated the next day, if there are any leftovers!

I make a Ragu cube steak.Just brown it and then cook in Ragu spaghetti sauce until the sauce gets darker and richer and the steak melts in your mouth.
Even my kids would eat it,LOL
