[00:46]: A truly detailed and honest 4-year review! Love how you shared both the pros and cons of the TYM T474. [02:10]: So impressive to see how she learned to operate a tractor on the T474. The smooth and easy handling really stands out! 🚜✨ [07:24]: Amazing! Even though it's not recommended, your skill in handling the situation is seriously impressive. 🙌 Thanks for sharing this real-world experience! [12:29]: 400 hours with only minor issues-this TYM T474 is truly durable and worth every penny. Thanks for such a detailed review! 🔧💪 [13:19]: This part is perfect for beginners learning about tractors. The 'Swiss Army knife' comparison is spot on-tractors are versatile but need to be used for the right tasks! 🌟 [13:39]: A comfy seat and user-friendly design like this really makes it 'fit for everyone.' Great video-wishing your channel even more success! 🎥❤
I am also a member of the T474 club, mine is the Cab w/ Shuttle shift and third function & 2 rear remotes, loaded rear tires it is everything that I had hoped for. Less than a year of ownership, but approaching 180 hours.
The T474 is the third best seller only slightly behind the 2515. The T25 is number one. Pricing has a lot to do with that, but in my opinion, I think the T474 is the best value tractor on the market. It can do so much.
Thanks again for sharing your experience and God bless you and your family and your friends mate. I do think you two are so amazing how you both work together and know what you’re both doing love it.
Upgraded my Kubota L3800 to the TYM494. I absolutely love its performance. Had it going on 3 years and it does everything I need it to. If I have a complaint, it would be the loader valve isn't as smooth as the Kubota. Having said that, no regrets and I recommend TYM to anyone I talk to about tractors. Enjoy your videos and how you and Tanya work together, I also enjoy watching your supervisor Gizmo.
@TonyReilly-mt7uu The tym494 is the tractor I am looking at purchasing. Depending on the price difference between it and the T574. I know this size is best for me. Just debating the HP. Lots of good reviews out there on all TYMs. Plus I like a red tractor. Thanks for sharing.
Yes, Sir! TYM has sponsored our channel for years, but they have never asked us to say any thing or asked us to remove any thing. I have told a few things about the 2515 that I don't like in reviews, but again, they were supportive and said they would work on it.
I started out looking at the T25 and the 2515. I am sooooo glad that my salesman gave me an outstanding deal on a new open station T474. I am still amazed at what this tractor is capable of and does it very well. I am going to keep my T474 and add a larger TYM cab tractor in the future. Thanks for the review on the T474.
I have a 494 shuttle shift cab. Basically same tractor as your 474 but bigger frame. I love it. Only issue I've had was a leaking seal on front axle but I'm pretty sure that was self inflicted. TYM makes a good tough tractor.
I have heard of a few front axles on the T494 and T574 leaking. That guy as a stout loader. You got to be careful not to over load it. I really like the T494. Such a beast.
That would be totally cool, If she fixed what she broke on her own. We have been married for 33 years. I am very aware of her skills set, but she has only been operating tractors over the last year. She is getting better everyday.
I commented on another TYM review that I love my 474HST and i never have over worked it, over 420 hours, however the bolts to the loader support that the loader rests on, on each side there are 4 bolts and I got a vibration so i started inspecting and 3 of the 4 bolts on each side broke and were completely gone, now what is strange is they are threaded, and the one one each side that was remaining were grade 6, I called the dealer and they said they should be grade 8, they are not shear bolts, again the are threaded. Not an easy repair, because i had to line up the holes perfectly to not cross thread. If you have the backhoe frame it makes the repair very difficult, but I got it done. Inspect your bolts!!
I recommend checking the loader bolts every 100 hours. No matter the brand, the loader bolts will back out. They will back out even with Loctite. There are extreme loads put on loader mounts. My John Deere, Massey Ferguson, Kubota, and LS Tractor had loader bolts back out. I'm afraid I have to disagree with the dealer. Grade 8 bolts may not break and cause a catastrophic failure. I would much rather the bolt break vs. bending the tractor or loader frame.
I forgot to mention about the only thing I do not completely like on my T474 is having to reach down so low to find and use the three point hitch lever. In my personal experience, I would rather it be a little higher and outboard just a tick. But I also at the same time realize there is only so much room down there by the right hand side of the operator seat.
Just looking at tym on Monday. Got my LS which is a great 45 hp tractor but there is one thing I’ve learned about tym that gets me thinking. There is a certain component on the engine that is easily removed that I cannot easily remove on my LS due to a computer program etc. forgot to add two years 400 hours on the LS and zero problems
Hey Tony! Inviting some input. I've been doing some research on tractors lately. I've narrowed it down to 3 brands, TYM, LS, and Kioti. We have 15 acres and currently on the list for a well to be drilled. In the mean time looking for a tractor that will be strong enough to lift 275 gallon water container. The 474 is pushing the limit, the TYM 494, and LS MT347 have a higher loader capacity. The 494 comes with a bigger footprint which can be a disadvantage in some cases. The Kioti tractors come with a bigger price, and dont know too much on the LS. I was dead set on the T474, until i calculated the weight of our water container at full capacity. What are yoir suggestions? Btw, you really make that T474 shine and at 4 years it still looks good! Love the channel! Keep the vids coming!
The T474 will not lift a full water tote. I know for sure. I lift my water tote at about 3/4 full. I have a 3/4 ton Ram 2500, and that is a lot of weight for it as well. I really know it is back there. If you are needing to move full containers, then the T494 would be a better fit.
Likelihood of damage aside, that's a good loader trick. I must say, I'm surprised you ended up with that much topsoil individually packaged. Can you not have a truckful delivered for the price of all those bags?
I bought my T474 about eight months ago and have been working a 15 acre parcel with it with great satisfaction. However, I recently purchased a flail mower and attempted to hook it up to the PTO. What I discovered is the PTO will not engage. I thoroughly went through the manual and contacted multiple dealers, researched the Internet and followed all of the recommended diagnostic procedures. The PTO will not engagE. When I tried to obtain warranty service through my local dealer I was told they could not help because TYM is not paying warranty claims. I then reached out to my selling dealer who confirmed that T 4:06 YM is not paying their dealers and that he had recently “divorced himself“ from the brand and had sent all his tractors back to TYM. I have reached out to TYM through their website and have not heard back. I now have an expensive flail mower and an almost very nice tractor, which I cannot use. My biggest fear is that there is no source for parts or service from the brand!
Have you checked the fuses? It is such a simple system. There's just not much to go wrong. Ensure the pto lever falls into gear. Sometimes you have to push forward on the PTO lever while bumping the engage button. This causes the gears to align. It's much more prevalent in a very new tractor. Now mine is broken in, and it falls into gear very easily.
To this point we have had little to no issues. We did have one plug to the starter switch come undone. I just plugged it back together and it has worked perfectly since.
So, the appeal of the 2515 is the lack of emissions crap on the engine. What has been your experience with the larger horsepower tractor's emissions, etc?
I would have thought it wouldn't be possible to bend the loader. Surely the rams would fail to lift or the hydraulic pump would bypass before the loader bent?
Bending the loader has more to do with side loading then direct loading. Bent loaders are the number one damage to compact tractors caused by new owners.
Thank you so much. Yes, I am loosing about 1 pound a month. I am working hard on the farm and spending about 5 hours each week in the gym. The T474 only comes in 4 wheel drive.
Just bought 10 acres and looking for a cab tractor. It’s flat field/farmland. Going to be mostly doing work around the house since we are building, brush cutting, and moving round bales. Narrowed it down between the 394, 474, and the 3515. Does anyone have thoughts on any of these models? Thanks.
I just recently bought the 474 HST with a cab. Wanted a cab since Im in northern Maine and deal with windy cold winters. The 35HP was only 900 dollars less than the 474 with 48HP, so that was a no brainer for me. I also need the PTO power of the 474 to run a rear snowblower and bush hog. So far I’m very happy with it for being my first tractor. To me if it boils down to just a few grand for that extra almost 15HP I’d pay for it any day!
Sir, I'm retired SFC U.S. A. I have the same tractor 474 with 350 hrs in 3 years. I had put on a hydraulic top link and it has bent the rear remote. fitting and It has a small leak of hydraulic fluid. I can't find a 90 deg fitting to replace the some fitting so it would not interfere with the operation of the hydraulic top link. Do you have any suggestions for me? 2nd question, the power steering will pull to the left and it takes a full turn plus to maintain a straight drive meanwhile, I continually turning to the right. to maintain a straight drive? I've called my local TYM dealer and since it's over a year old no warranty. Where a video that can help? I love the tractor but TYM support is not helpful at all.
I'm not sure if you are talking about when it's on the trailer, or when it's on the tractor? It was strapped down on the trailer during transport. At the end of the day I think it would be obvious why we were not using straps on the tractor, because we didn't need it.
My T474 cab model with backhoe wouldn't lift a ton of heating pellets out of a dump truck either. I was disappointed but bad things probably would have happened. Love you TYM!
Your math is off a bit, and a bigger tractor would be the fix. TYM rates the tractor lifting capacity at just over 2100 pounds. They are rated at the pivot pins. Subtract 200 to 300 pounds for the forks and you are down to below 2000 pounds. Also, you lose lifting capacity the further you are away from the pins. You can pick up a 30 pound dumbbell up to your chest, but you can't hold it out straight in front of you. The tractor is no different. Your load was at least 4 foot out in front of the lift pins. You were in the same situation as me, other than my soil should have been around 1600 pound dry. I have no idea what it weighed being wet. I definitely overloaded it.
No, you would have to move up to a T494 for draft control. The T474 is more of a general utility tractor. The T494 crosses over into the farm utility realm.
@TonysTractorAdventure That's a bummer. I get my 474 delivered tomorrow. I didn't realize the difference between the two when I ordered the 474. Hopefully, the 474 will still do everything I need it to.
Tony Long Time Viewer!! I have a question you guy's have been running the tym tractors for awhile. I guess my question is what made you leave. Ls? I'm in the market to buy one. So I was hoping you could give your input from the two of them. Thank you Guy's 😊
LS makes a good tractor, but about 6 years ago, LS USA almost folded. Almost all of the people that I worked with at corporate office , save a few, are gone. It seems they have turned it around. I have some good friends working there now, and they really like the renewed company.
The wheelbase on tym tractors is nearly exactly the same as other brands. Some of their big tractors come with wheels turned in for shipping but they can be let out to the desired width.

The T474 is probably TYM's best seller, I've had mine for 4 years also and I'm soooooo satisified with this, I have now 478h on my Cab HST.

You have done a great job showing what that series tractor can do. Been fun watching that machine work!
More to Come!

Tony we have a Tym 474CH we love it. Bought it from Smiths Enterprise.
They are good people.
Our 474 is at 350 hours at 2.75 years and we LOVE it.
We are working the fire out of ours.
Hey guys, beautiful day for a video
It was still very wet, but at least we had some fun. Raining again today.
Great tractor! It's certainly a workhorse, no doubt about it!! Thanks for sharing, Tony!!
I know we have worked it hard.

Never seen that trick before. Dont know if I should add it to my tool box. That is taking it to the limits.
Some people are more risk-averse than others and that is okay.
Thank you, Great video!
Thank you, my friend.
Likelihood of damage aside, that's a good loader trick. I must say, I'm surprised you ended up with that much topsoil individually packaged. Can you not have a truckful delivered for the price of all those bags?
Some super sale at Rural King! My wife made me do it.
Love the videos. How much do think that pallet of top soil weighs. Or what do you think the real world lift capacity is
I am guessing it weighed around 25-2600 lb. The topsoil was really wet.
You guys are killing me…”[Tonya] My butt’s hanging out. “[Tony] It’s always something…”😂

Much appreciated!
“TRIPOD!…Never mind.” Every man understands what happened there.
Where did you purchase tractor canopy from or what brand is it and are you satisfied with it
I think the company was sold. It was called Rhino canopy. This is the second tractor I mounted on.
Could you give us your thoughts on your Bighorn UTV. Issues repairs likes dislikes. Etc. thank you. .
To this point we have had little to no issues. We did have one plug to the starter switch come undone. I just plugged it back together and it has worked perfectly since.
Thanks Guys...
Our pleasure!
So, the appeal of the 2515 is the lack of emissions crap on the engine. What has been your experience with the larger horsepower tractor's emissions, etc?
No issues in 500 hours. I have never been through regeneration on the T474. Regen is just not an issue anymore.
I would have thought it wouldn't be possible to bend the loader. Surely the rams would fail to lift or the hydraulic pump would bypass before the loader bent?
Bending the loader has more to do with side loading then direct loading. Bent loaders are the number one damage to compact tractors caused by new owners.
Hey Tony. Love my t25 tractor.... . Hate the dealer's hear in for worth. Got rolley screwed on this tractor need help
I am open to helping you, but I am unsure what I can do. Reach out on my contact page on my website.
Tony what are your thoughts on the 574
I really like it. I have often struggled with moving up to the T574
Tony, you look fantastic. Are you still loosing weight? You look 20 years younger. GOOD JOB!!! Does that tractor come in 4 wheel drive?
Thank you so much. Yes, I am loosing about 1 pound a month. I am working hard on the farm and spending about 5 hours each week in the gym. The T474 only comes in 4 wheel drive.
You have worked the crap outta that tractor and it has proven to be a hard worker. It's not a T25 but it's something to strive for ;-)
You know I love my T25. LOL. It has been such a workhorse too!
Tony, if I am wrong for asking this, please forgive me. But do you have any idea why TYM ditched Josh of Stoney Ridge Farms?
Thank you for asking, but I will stay away from this question.

First. Turn your hydraulic top link upside down. Second. Your steering is under warranty for two years.
Should have named this video "Tonya 's Tractor Adventure"
It is slowly changing. We though about changing our name to TTA Homestead
Why didn't they put a ratchet strap over the leaning tower of piza
I'm not sure if you are talking about when it's on the trailer, or when it's on the tractor? It was strapped down on the trailer during transport. At the end of the day I think it would be obvious why we were not using straps on the tractor, because we didn't need it.
@TonysTractorAdventure talking about the load. When rural King misloaded
it it should have been corrected before it went down the road
My T474 cab model with backhoe wouldn't lift a ton of heating pellets out of a dump truck either. I was disappointed but bad things probably would have happened. Love you TYM!

Does the T474 have draft control?
No, you would have to move up to a T494 for draft control. The T474 is more of a general utility tractor. The T494 crosses over into the farm utility realm.
@TonysTractorAdventure That's a bummer. I get my 474 delivered tomorrow. I didn't realize the difference between the two when I ordered the 474. Hopefully, the 474 will still do everything I need it to.
I would only ever use draft control when plowing.
@TonysTractorAdventure thank you for the info. Your videos always provide great information, and one of the reasons why I chose TYM over the others.
Id say making your own mulch, is way better. You know what it is and know where it came from.
I agree. Heck, It is fun to make!

Nope, I’m trying it! You can’t do awesome then tell people not to do it 🤣 Just kidding. Thanks for the demo.
LOL! This is a "How Tony does it channel!" not a "How to do it channel" LOL! I fly by the seat of my pants some days.
Gizmo wants you to know that he is a "real dog". However, doing dog stuff, other than rolling is stinky things, is below him.
That's right! He doesn't like muddy feet.
Tym makes good equipment. The wheel base width on their compact makes me nervous (after using old tractors).
The wheelbase on tym tractors is nearly exactly the same as other brands. Some of their big tractors come with wheels turned in for shipping but they can be let out to the desired width.
