One of the most underrated English players ever so technically gifted 2 footed pacey and an absolutely lethal finisher crying shame his body failed him
Great to see the comments here. Sturridge is one of my all-time LFC faves. Shame, he came into being, in an era, where you can't simply be a silky striker anymore. You have to go wide, drop back, supply, and somehow find yourself in the right spot in the box. Sturridge had the ability to do all of this, but he simply didn't have the body. I think it also came out, the poor bugger had spent a lot of his career battling mental health issues, which any physio or sports psychiatrist would tell you, anxiety further increases the chance of injury. When you think about the hurdles Sturridge had to overcome, that he had the career he did, is a testament to him. Note, he never sulked and made a nonce of himself like Lindgard did.
2013/14 season when i started watching, i remember and respect Sturridge very much, we didnt have much succes during those years and onward until Klopp’s era. And what you said is spot on. Some great memories from that Liverpool squad and I respect players like Sturridge, because its their effort and struggle what made our recent succes possible❤❤
That goal against Sevilla in the Europa final was exquisite. Deserved more than the referee missing to blatant handball pens that would have salted the game away.
That 2013/2014 season from him and Suarez was legendary. Would've been on the same level (if they had won the PL) as a Cole - Yorke for the quality they both had. He was deadly af.
Daniel Sturridge was a great player. it is very unfortunate that injuries held him back
The most underrated streets won't forget player, sandwiched between suarez and torres achievements
What a cracker his last goal was. We will never forget how much quality sturridge possessed.

What a talent he was. Without the injuries, he was elite. Could dribble, score with both feet, great movement, fast... such a shame.
What a player
Top striker ruined by injuries
That goal vs sevilla was so special 🥲
4:36 what a god, that was such a clinical finish woww
The goal against WBA (number 21) is my favourite.
One of the most Gifted finishers of all time.
Only injury hold this guy from his career
It's still strange to me seeing him in those dark red New Balance kits
Incredible striker at his best.
His goal vs Stoke is underrated
Baller
0:24 😮
Sturridge had Fowler's natural goal-poaching ability but also Fowler's fragile body
Fucking class
Better than anelka and Stan col
