    At Rock Hill Farm and Homes we upload new videos at least 3 times per week, about our 20 Acre hobby farm, our John Deere 2038R compact tractor and other equipment, and the businesses that we run.
    These businesses include a manufacturing operation, a Christmas tree farm, real estate investing, a lawn care business, and an online retail store. I demonstrate how I am able to use these ventures to earn a good living without a traditional job.
    We have some cool toys and always think outside the box on our little homestead so come along for the ride.
    You can expect new videos from us every other day, usually around 8 AM.

      Thank you sir.
      I thought it pulled pretty well for how muddy it was

    The subsoiler should have drastically improved the drainage in those formerly-wet areas. A lot of farmers will run a subsoiler 8-10' on contour to improve the soil drainage. Keep up the great content!

    Works pretty good. Once those R4s get clogged, looks like it’s hard to clean them out. Beautiful shot of the moon behind you.

    I built a subsoiler at home for my Goldoni. for that I based myself on the design of the one you are using. does an excellent job.

      Yeah, at one point it almost felt like it was going to tip when one side was sinking and the other wasn’t

    Great video... i'm wondering if we could use that behind the 4053R and rip some of the Habitat Oasis Project to improve our tree planting speed... We are currently manually planting bare root trees and shrubs with a dibble bar. Don't think my 2032R would pull it w/out some more weight... tires aren't filled and no wheel weights...

      Probably depends on your ground. I’ve seen smaller tractors than the 2032 pulling it but if it’s too hard it would struggle or mine struggled some because it was too soft and I was sinking in the mud

      I would be careful, I believe this subsoiler is rated at 35hp.

  • @morrismonet3554
    @morrismonet3554 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I pull this thing just fine with 26 HP, but I have R-1 tires.

    • @RockhillfarmYT
      @RockhillfarmYT  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      R1 tires definitely help for pulling.
      I don’t remember the exact circumstances for this video but it seems like it was really muddy and I was losing traction some.
      I have used it since then and it does the job it is designed for.

    My former BX 2370 would pull the County Line one just fine.

      Yeah, it pulled pretty easy until I hit mud

    Brock, any reason why you are running your front tires backwards? Thanks

    • @RockhillfarmYT
      @RockhillfarmYT  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had them off the other day and didn’t realize they were backward until I was done And the tools were put up. I’ll be switching them back in the next couple of days

  • @khtractors
    @khtractors 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Pulled good until the mud! Can you tell any traction loss with the front tires reversed?

    • @RockhillfarmYT
      @RockhillfarmYT  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m sure it had some effect but I don’t think it was pulling through that muddy stretch either way
      I had them off a couple times and the last time I put them on backwards. I should have turned them put back around before I shot this one.
      I did get this ground tilled up today but it’s still pretty wet and I almost got stuck a couple times

      I didn’t take your comment as negative but I do kind of feel like an idiot for putting them on backward.
      I noticed it when I was editing the video before this one and just didn’t take time to flip them back yet
      Thanks for noticing the channel growth I’ve been putting out a lot of content this last few weeks

    Wondering how you can run the tiller in that muddy ground? And if my 2025 would be able to pull that at all? But don`t have the need to! So I guess I will get by!

    • @RockhillfarmYT
      @RockhillfarmYT  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tilling this muddy ground is the first thing that ever bogged down my tractor. That’s how I know when to stop if it’s pulling hard enough that the PTO speed starts to drop from 540
      This subsoiler video was shot last night and I ended up waiting until noon today to run the tiller but it did the job

    Front tires on backwards?

    • @RockhillfarmYT
      @RockhillfarmYT  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes. Good eye.
      So I had them off two days ago for another project and realized after I was done that I had them on backward.
      I’ll be flipping them back around in the next couple of days

    • @RockhillfarmYT

      Yeah the first 200 feet I could barely even tell it was there and then it would just bog down once I was losing traction

    I would call that a mole plow

    • @RockhillfarmYT
      @RockhillfarmYT  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Is that just because it’s small or is there another joke I’m not getting.
      My understanding is people use them a lot on fields That don’t drain well
