Stocks are pretty unstable at the moment, but if you do the right math, you should be just fine. Bloomberg and other finance media have been recording cases of folks gaining over 250k just in a matter of weeks/couple months, so I think there are alot of wealth transfer in this downtime if you know where to look.
Such market uncertainties are the reason I don’t base my market judgements and decisions on rumours and here-says, got the best of me 2020 and had me holding worthless position in the market, I had to revamp my entire portfolio through the aid of an advisor, before I started seeing any significant results happens in my portfolio, been using the same advisor and I’ve scaled up 750k within 2 years.

Pretty hard to believe you can become profitable in 4 months with ALL that stress of bankruptcy and losing your business. I can never tell if traders lie about how quick they became profitable because their egos are so high. This situation seems impossible from my experience

OTC are traded over broker dealer networks. How did he get his hands on OTC’s to trade and sell them? Was he one of those? Paper mailer died in 1987. How was he watching these rise and fall if they are not in any market you can watch?

As a professional trader for 10+ years and financial analyst who works in a registered firm ... trading is the HARDEST and most lucrative thins on earth but it takes minimum 3 years before you see yourself making money some people took them more than that but to make money from first trade then stay consistent for awhile and you just started trading not at ALL correct
Firs tof all hardest job is an overstatement, lot of strategies take barely any skills. Profits depends on the strategy, if you have real alpha and have a proper way to extract it, you can be profitable right away. Lot of quant strategies are good from the start, although it can take a while to design and backtest.
Here is one for you:
Identify important future events let's say a merger that will either send the price soaring or down a lot. Or even better a big legal case. Now you will see that for some such event , the option market still prices the event using a normal distribution. While in reality they should be price according to a bimodal distribution. When that's the case, you can buy the undervalued option. Do this enough time and statistic will reward you. You'll have a distribution of many small losses and huge winners. Only skill needed is to understand option pricing and have looked at enough events to understand what is important and what is not. So most fo the time its just research. But you capture real inefficiency from the market.
@@dontbeafool I can't vouch for this guy but it's possible to be profitable straight away. This isn't rocket science. Eat, sleep, breathe, live trading for a few weeks. If you're the right type of person, you may surprise yourself. If you're the wrong kind of person, you also may surprise yourself. Either way, test your strats and aptitude in paper for a couple of months. See if you got what it takes.
@treasurehunt7812 the issue I have is with people thinking that chart patterns is real trading. No actual firm would ever hire you. You need to know what inneficiency you're capturing otherwise you're just gambling with a perceived sense of agency
@@dontbeafool Chart patterns are a singular data set of many. I didn't suggest that chart patterns were the key to being profitable because they're not. They're one data set. There are other data sets such as news, overall market sentiment, l2 tape, etc. Then there are all of the decisions you need to make to manage risk, take profits, cut losses, scaling etc. There is a lot more to it. What I was saying is that it is possible to be profitable from day 1 and maintain profitability if you are the right type of person and you preemptively put in sufficient enough work. I agree that most people will likely fail for a long time before they become profitable. It's likely that most never become profitable. But there are outliers. People who just "get it" for one reason or another. I know someone like that, personally.
Capturing imbalances. Is that what you meant by when you said "you need to know what inefficiency you're capturing"? That's all that I'm doing. The data is there for anyone who can interpret it. Imbalances seem to be, in some cases, severe. I hedge my bets on the severe imbalances. I trade low cap stocks with low float, mostly. The imbalances/inefficiencies can be even more severe with low float. I understand there is a risk of having the imbalance overridden with a big move in the other direction. My counter to that is very tight stop-loss against a known resistance or support band. I could, if required, demonstrate my decision making process to show the imbalance I'm observing.
It's not rocket science. I'm a rookie. A total novice. I'm sure you're a much better trader than I am. However, in spite of my greenness, I'm consistent. Always have been consistent.
Do I sound deluded to you? Do I have the right idea? I think I'm going about this the right way. Definitely could use some reassurance, though. My accuracy is 77% and my p/l ration is around 9:1 - I trade 4 different strategies. Three are day and another is a longer trade based more on fundamental analysis.
In this process of learning to trade, I can see what's going on in this space. There are a lot of gurus and "educators" who, I can already tell, have no clue how to be a profitable trader. They're selling hopes and dreams to people looking for a lifestyle and not a profession. It's actually pretty disturbing to see how pervasive this "educational" underworld is. I would call it predatory. Is that a fair assessment?
There are some standouts in this educational space who I won't name, but it seems the vast majority, and I do mean VAST, are phony opportunists looking to capitalize on the unwitting public's hopes and dreams.
Thanks for your input, though. Any other input that you have would be appreciated. I hope that my results haven't all been luck. I know that I will face changes in the market which I will need to adapt to to maintain profitability. I have a lot to learn, I know, but I think my fundamentals are fairly sound. I was profitable right from the get go. My goal wasn’t to become wealthy the next day though. I would make 100 and take 20 so I could eat that day. It just grew grew by taking little bites and not being greedy.
