    Wow, loads of negative comments, I have the standard and XL for my 36 Factory fork and they are the best mudguards I've ever seen and used. No dodgy cable tie attachment which scratches your fork and rattles about, no wobble and rattle like the ones that only screw to the lower leg brace. These attach so well you can knock on them with your knuckles and the are as solid as your bike frame, if you have a compatible fork just get them, nothing on the market comes close. Oh and despite the video you can fit them in a couple of minutes.

      Does the standard fit on the Fox 38? I don’t like the way the front half looks and from what I understand the standard is the the 36 and the XL is for the 38. Is that true? If so, I’m wondering if I bought the XL and then just cut the front of it. I wonder if that would work.

    Damn, so many negative comments. Its a good mudguard, I get some people can't be arsed or don't have the mechanical knowledge to install it, but it's a really well designed and sturdy mudguard. Anyone that's had a ziptie mudguard knows how shit they are. And anyone thats ridden in muddy conditions without a mudguard knows how shit it is too.

    Fork is $1200, Mudguard is $25 I'd say that's a pretty good investment for an expensive part-- take it to your local LBS if you can't do it yourself for some odd reason, but don't discourage others from taking care of there expensive fork by downvoting and being negative

    I REALLY wish you guys would make the standard half size for the Fox 38. I don’t like the front part of the guard that sits in front of the fork. I just want the back section but you don’t make them for the 38. Why?? Could I buy the bigger guard and then just cut the front half off? Would that still work?

    When removing the pressure relief screw I heard a small amount of air escaping, so I'm assuming it will need a shock pump adding to the tools required?

    • @mykneegrow2819
      @mykneegrow2819 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is exactly what I was thinking. If you’re releasing air from the pressure release then surely you’re gonna need to re pump it up. Not a great instructional

    • @JonnySledge
      @JonnySledge ปีที่แล้ว +7

      The small amount of air you heard escap9ng is unrelated to the shock air spring pressure held inside the left stanchion. If you had followed the instructions properly, you would have equalized the air pressure between the inside of the outers and atmosphere when you pressed the pressure relief valve and not heard any air escaping when you unscrewed the valve. That said, you should probably invest in a shock pump so you can properly setup and maintain your suspension.

    I have no doubt that I will be able to install it, but just some feedback: I think the mudguard looks great and will function great. But a mudguard that interacts with some primary functions during installation. (seals, air pressure and perhaps even oil) seems flawed from an engineering point of view. I would most likely add (in the cad design) 2 holes below or just on top of the pressure release buttons solely for the mudguard. This means a split in function, but I feel it is justified. *Disclaimer: I'm not an engineer. (I imagineer for the most part lol. :))

    • @lee2569
      @lee2569 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It's even easier than a cable tie mudguard to install. No need for removing wheel, no need for bike stand and no need for a pick. It took me literally 2 minutes to install.

    • @JonnySledge
      @JonnySledge ปีที่แล้ว +3

      This guard does not affect the normal operation of the fork in any way. The pressure relief valves on the rear outers are unrelated to the air spring pressure sealed inside the left stanchion.
