Thank you for this. I just replaced my asus' harddrive. I was hesitant at first because I've never opened a netbook but your video gave me confidence. When I popped off the shell I found an old credit card to be really easy to work with. I got a little bit opened and then slid the card around the sides so they all popped off without me trying. Once again, thanks!
Thanks for the info. This could have been a 2 minute video. I'm now facing the sad realization that I'll never get the rest of that time back. But will be able to replace the drive thanks to your tips. Except the gouging bits. There will be no gouging on any plastic part or screw well on my ASUS. Thanks.
I appreciate your kind words, at the moment we do not have any videos for that model. However, the second we get one in the shop we'll put up a video. Thanks for watching and please remember to subscribe!!!
You could Google for the tear down manual for the unit. Then, follow the steps to replacing the hard drive. If I get that model computer in the shop we'll be sure to make a video for you. Best of luck! I appreciate your support. Thanks for watching and please subscribe!!
Hi I have an Asus Eee PC 1015PEM and I want to upgrade the hard drive with a 500GB SATA II hard disk. Info says "Storage 160GB/250GB/320GB HDD" what does it means? an storage limitation or not? Thanks :)
hi !!! my ASUS eeee pc 1015px netbook , they broken plastic clips at the motherboard for the band connect to the keyboard . could you tell me how to fix it , thank for your help
hi just run into a problem, just changed hard drive, after rebuild ended up with a blank screen, worked before the change,,,HELP !!!!!! (asus eee pc 2005ha)
Never I will buy a laptop that requires the keyboard to be removed to access the hard drive. It's so easy to have a panel under to access it but some manufacturers like Asus want to keep you from replacing defective pieces of hardware. Guess what, I'm going to buy something else.
Really cool! Glad you found my video to be helpful. Also, checkout a nifty tool called iSesamo - pretty neat and fairly inexpensive on Amazon. Best of luck. Thanks for watching! Show your support and please subscribe!
What a pain in the ass! The best way to remove the screws, then drop the thing out of a 2-story building, preferably on concrete. If the bottom doesn't pop off then, give up! Seriously, guys, wear a static protection device when removing memory, or find a good solid floor without carpet. In other words, ground yourselves. Geesh, I'm typing this and the poor guy still hasn't gotten the back off. Oh, wait, he got it.

Thanks, this definitely made the difference in salvaging my hard drive before handing my old netbook off to recycling!
Thank you. This video was extremely helpful and allowed me to accomplish my goal of removing the hard drive before disposing of an ASUS EED netbook.

No worries about Electrostatic Discharge damaging components?

ASOOS? I thought it was pronounced ASUS as in A-SUS(us)...not (oos)
Get on with it! Ugh!
