If I'm in the situation where someone was gracious enough to hold the door for me, I will absolutely try to hold the door for someone trying to make it in behind me. I can't just totally refuse to share the kindness I just received with this other person who is going through the exact same situation I was just going through.

It's like letting someone in front of you in a line and then they let someone in front of them. Feels like they took advantage of your kindness. 100% Seinfeld moment there.

This is exactly what's wrong with society today! We're so caught up in me, me, me that we can't take an extra 5 minutes to be nice to someone because it's too much of an inconvenience....smdh!

The arrows are like the faces/vase optical illusion. When I see them, I see the negative space. So the backs of the arrows touching looks like closed doors because there is no negative space. The tips touching have negative space in the middle which looks more open than the other.

the person needs to quickly "come in to the elevator" so push arrows facing inward-- is my auto-reaction, so, similar deal but in meaning, not shape.
I've seen your example before too.

Okay, so, I owned a mobile laser printer repair business. It drove me crazy that when you get to the floor you are going to, the person waiting for the elevator jumps right in before I can even get out. Sheesh people, please let people exit the elevator before you get in . It just seems like common sense. That was always a huge pet peeve of mine. It seems so damn simple, but I guess it's not.

I have to see immediately and right there, because I push my floor and door close immediately upon entering elevator.

They understand you can hold your arm in between the doors and they’ll retract back, right? I have never clicked the button, I just put my foot/or am in the doors and keep it open.

Nobody would wait, but if you slap in and someone comes in rushing behind you, are you holding the door, or doing the Terminator 2 scene and watching the ceiling after you see the rage slowly leak onto their face.

  • @jaymacpherson8167

I’ll hold the elevator door for anyone. Though I also attempt conversation with strangers, and if at the front, turn around and talk to the strangers in the elevator. When I was young, if the people count was low, I might actually climb the walls (parkour). Talk about etiquettes!!!
