Reforming campaign finance was one of John McCain's personal causes, and I admired him for it. Unfortunately, it was an uphill battle and he ultimately failed. There are just too many bought and paid for in DC. It would be nice if Kamala and the Democrats could get behind a new campaign finance initiative. THAT could be a real positive for their campaign!

Before I retired, I worked for decades as a teacher for multiply handicapped students; they were all in wheelchairs. Trump mocked the handicapped and said they'd be better off dead. From Australia, I wholeheartedly support Kamala Harris. Trump has consistently degraded women throughout his life and should have been disqualified from Public Office Under the 14th Amendment. I envision President Kamala Harris and Vice President Pete Buttigieg, who is more than qualified for the role. However, while these developments are historic, they do not rewrite history; rather, they contribute to the evolution of political representation and society's understanding of leadership.
As Tom Friedman wrote, Trump has entered his "Fat Elvis" phase, doing his greatest hits in front of a declining audience of elderly fans.
