when I brush paint a headliner on older cars that have the bows, I brush side to side in the direction the bows would go, this way it matches the lines that would be in the headliner in the real car. I haven't done that in a while though. I started making my headliners and sail panels out of Styrofoam plates that I scribe in the bows and then airbrush whatever color I want.
Great build on this car!
I had thought about making headliners like that back when I was building .
@@janderakaleroydavis they look the part. I also add a dome light.
Thanks Jason!
you're very talented with that foil young man. One of the nice things about the hobby is that you may build the car anyway you want, using whatever wheels etc., it won't bring down the value like it would in the 1 to 1 world. Color, motor, suspension wheels , it's all up to you. What fun
Absolutely!! Thanks!
Awesome Nova SS , great finish . NICEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE ...
Thanks Mike!!
I wouldve NEVER thought those rims would look so incredibly good on that car but they do. Well done 👍
That 64 Nova turned out nice Matt. That color is awesome. The bmf looks great. Very nice build.
Thanks Zippi!!
Yeah, those wheels really make it pop. Great build. I think the happy accident also worked in your favor. Its slick. Id be proud.
Thanks Todd!
Back when I had time to build, I painted headliner same color as interior of car or truck. I was toying with trying to make cloth headliners.
This car is very nice, rims look awesome on this car!!!
Thanks!!
The wheels that you put on set the car off. The color looks fantastic. The build turned out fantastic also. Great job on it.
Thanks!
You do have a steady hand!!! Matt.
That come out great. Now that you’ve shown us the original brown compared to your new color, the red is much better. Love the new rims.
Thanks!!
MAN! Watching you on your hobby journey has been educational! Just moved into a new house with a potential 1200 square foot basement that’s going to be great for my shop! So I’m going to live vicariously through your videos and get things set up.
Very cool!! That should be a nice work area!
That looks good! I like that color and the wheels!
Looks fantastic Matt. Thanks for the tip
She turned out great Matt and I love the color!
Thanks!
Very nice Nova Matt, paint is clean and chrome detail is excellent. The large wheels give it that restomod look.
Thanks David!!
Your Nova turned out Great !!!! I believe this is the first built up I've seen of the stock version. Well Done!!! I'm glad you added the red.
Thanks Mike!!
Greetings from Canada. Fabulous job.
Great build Matthew!
I've always liked the lines of the 62-67 Novas...
Looks beautiful! Those wheels and tires were worth the work to fit them. They made the stance perfect!
That is one sweet looking car!!
Super build! Love the paint job. Had a door handle fly off my tweezers. Looked for half an hour all over the floor and desk. Found it stuck to a picture above my desk!
Yep!! Same here but I stepped on mine and broke it.
Wheels were a good choice, paint is awesome!
Thanks Ray!!
If my mind serves me right, if I'm not mistaken back years ago there used to be a color that matched that in the big Crayola crayon box sets, it was called Burnt Umber! Looks good on the Nova! The Brownish gold looks great on that Chevelle!
Thanks Dwayne!!
That Looks Fabulous your a great Inspriration. Like HPI guy says build it youre way.
Awsome video, I use a piece of masking tape to hold each piece of glass then glue the exposed edges. Prevents accidental glass movement. Good job 👏
The car came out great!
It turned out great! Those tires and wheels look better on there than they ever did on that 300 😁✌️
Matt, I have looked at a few of your videos< I am really impressed. I LIKE them. I have been looking at ones - Luka C- was seeing how to-s, but they stopped, then there are some where he says " Going blow my face off " and other language I feel young children don't need to hear or imitate. I would NOT want to teach children these words. I like that you show. tell and we see the results. You are doing a great job. Your numbers will keep growing. Keep doing what you are doing. Great JOB
Thank you!!
Chrome looks great Mat. U R Awesome! Keep up the great work. Hello to your family.
Thanks Mark!!
That came out super nice. The happy accident worked out.
👍🏻👍🏻
Awesome job the wheels go great with the car 🚗. Great color also 👍.
Thanks Ron!
Wheels look great it all came together nice
Thanks
Beautiful Work Matt, God Bless All 👍👍, Gary.
Thanks Gary!
You're Welcome 🤗
wow that turned out fantastic
Thanks Tim!!
I appreciate you sir. I’m back into the craft after a twenty year lay off and I dig your into the hot rods n muscle cars. I’m digging your tutorials
Looks great
I like the Chrysler 300 wheels, I put them on a '55 Corvette and really liked the way they looked. Your Nova is awesome and the wheels fit it so well!!!!
Thanks Rudy!!
You know this is a great looking model with the stock hubcaps, but damn, it really pops now love those rims on this car.
👍🏻👍🏻
Really nice build. I think the wheels make the car. Keep well
Thanks
Turned out nice!!!!!!!!!!!!! 👍👍👍
Thanks Tim!
@@modelcarvideos5829 Anytime!
Nice job Matt. I have some magazines coming to you. Hope you enjoy those. They are model magazines. I think that you will. Take care buddy
Fine looking result!!!
Thanks!
That’s one fine looking Nova mate, the wheels and paint look tops 👍🇦🇺
The tires and wheels look great. With mid 60’s and earlier models, I think it is harder to find nice aftermarket wheels, but you made a great choice. I do my headliners, and put my glass in like you do, and those techniques work great. When your building models, you just have to experiment to find what works for you. Everyone is different. Andy’s Hobby Headquarters has some stuff similar to bare metal foil, and it is a lot cheaper. I’m going to get some of it next month and see how well it works. Lately, I’ve been using Molotov pens and silver Sharpies for trim this year. Thanks for sharing. Good to see you building models again.
Do you free hand with the Molotov pens or do you tape the areas?
Came out awesome Matt. I have to say I think the red looks better also. Nice choice wih the whell and rims you chose. Just a fantastic build.
Thanks!
Ur wheel choice is great. I agree w/ u on the stock wheels! I used the rally wheels/tires from the '69 Nova kit. I wish I could take credit for that, however, way back in the mid 70's, I knew of a guy that built a '64 Chevy II, painted it turquoise, put a 350/4 sp in it and used rally wheels.
Cool! Thanks
i think the mags certainly look better than the stock hubcaps but those would look better with a little wash on them. looks great!
Good job Matt.
Thanks Edward!
Looks like a million bucks!
Really really nice. Great job
Thanks Harry!
Turned out pretty good nice-looking ride
Thanks Butch!!
Wow. This is a most excellent build. I subscribed to watch this come together. I thought I had found my modeling brother! you blew it with the wheels! I really really love the overall quality of the build. I personally don't like the wheels but that is OK.
Nice work!...I like the custom engine!...Keep the videos coming!
Thanks Wayne!!
Love the color. At some angles it looks 👍 a real car. Stunning! I'm getting my first airbrush and compressor and can't wait to start getting some real painting done.
Cool 😎 custom touches on your Nova too!!
Excellent build Matt. That kit looks like a great kit... Ill have to get one... looks like you might have gotten the aftermarket and custom bug... thanks for the update.
👍🏻👍🏻
The wheels look awsome !
Thanks Mike!
Really looks good Matt.. I usually don't get too picky about headliner either, but for those who do ya can dry pounce The brush around on the paint and create texture....
Another great job on the build, It really is a nice clean job....😎👍BTW the tires and wheels made it complete 💯
Nice job on that grille!!.. on the 63 Impala SS 409 I did last weekend I used thinned Semi Gloss Testors paint on the grille and I think it came out real decent!!
👍🏻👍🏻
Great looking build
Thanks!
i really want this kit i owned a 63 chevy nova 2 door sedan when i was younger
Very nice model!
Thanks!!
Wheels with hubcaps... YUK!
Chrysler 300 wheels... shockingly cool!
👍🏻👍🏻
The Nova came out great! I am a fan of the SS wheels because as a kid they were cool. I am not a fan of the tires. I have to go wider. That's just me. Thanks for the video😎👍
👍🏻👍🏻
Cool Build turned out really nice
Luv the videos.
Thanks Paul!
@@modelcarvideos5829 your welcome
Beautiful car!
Thanks Tim!!
Nice build! Color came out nice, along with the wheels. I dont think it would have looked bad in the brown.
Thanks
Looking good matt👍😎
Thanks Fred!
Those wheels really work!
Thanks
As soon as I saw those wheels I knew they were the Chrysler 300 wheels and tires. I have a set in my stash. I just may use them on my 67 Fairlane build. They look great.
Go for it!
Looks nice...if you add white walls to stock rims and hubs it helps alot.... for future builds thx!
👍🏻👍🏻
Looking great Matt, love the wheels on this together with that ride height. Great choice for the colour too, well done.
Thanks!!
Gorgeous lookin Nova!!
Thanks for the great tips!
Custom wheels are the way to go. Look so much better. I am having ago at 3d printing some wheels for a 240z.
👍🏻👍🏻
Came out really nice! Those wheels look like they shoulda been on there from the get-go!
TY for the how to on the head liner and installing glass. Nice paint job. You are right about the wheels, They look good. All of the Hub caps that I received in the past, are at the land fill. Excellent work all around. I also Subbed you.
Thanks!!
Car turned out great ! Great build up an how you did your headliner! Great job as always my friend ! ~Don
Thanks Don!
Looks great 👍🏻
Thanks Trevor!
@@modelcarvideos5829 yw 😁
Nice job!!
I know I've said it before, your builds are incredible! Love the paint, the shine, the bare metal foil...always super clean builds! I always enjoy watching your work!!!!!
Thanks my brother!!
nice job got to say like the color myself well done
Thanks
Hey Matthew, look into some wax pencils for jewel art. They will hold onto the window and small parts for placement. Just got some a few months ago and really like em especially with windows
Holy moly!! I’m proud of you Matt!!! You are becoming a professional kit basher!! Lol it looks great with those wheels and tires. I really like the color too, but I still wanna see you build something using that brown!!!
Another excellent build Matt!!! I do my headliners the same way. Nice bare metal foiling job. I also use moltov chrome pens for some of my kits. Your custom color really looks good. The Nova was a great choice to do a build on. We're all creative in our own special ways. We need to build what makes us happy. Thanks again for sharing.
Thanks Chris!
Generally not a fan of oversized wheels on classic muscle cars but these are perfect for this build.
👍🏻👍🏻
Looking good
I drilled holes with my pin vise into the mirrors and the body of my last build, a 69 Camaro.
Be very careful not to go too far or it will bust out, doesn't need a long shaft to really secure it. I'm guessing you lost the mirror?
Looks great, paint, interior & wheels. 👍🏼
I may install them but I hate mirrors.
Man that looks great buddy nice work love the wheels headliner looks good to
Thanks!!
@@modelcarvideos5829 yes sir your welcome
I hate mirrors as well but I once tried pinning them and it actually worked pretty good. I usually don’t pin them because I am lazy.
The colour looks fantastic Matt! Love the wheels you put on the kit. Happy days and model on! 😎
Thanks Peter!!
Looks great Matthew! That color really looks looks great too! I think the wheels really set it off too. Always a good job with the BMF.
😎👍🏾
Thanks Clinton!!
I'll admit those wheels from the 05 Chrysler 300M look pretty Cool 😎 on this!!.. now if you ever build that 300 you'll have locate rims for that one though...
I actually liked those same hubcaps on my 63 Impala but to each his own...
Looks fantastic, Matt! I agree with you on the wheel choice. Those stock wheels would have been a crime. I think it makes your custom paint mix look even better! Loved your headliner and window installation techniques. I'll have to file those away in my noggin for future reference. Thanks for making the video!
Thanks Ken!!
Looks great. Have you ever tried super gold +? You can use a dab to get more of an instant hold and then go around your seams with the clear or the mod podge.
I will have to show you the headliner I have done on my hotrod '40 sedan. It is Not paint. However it can be a real pain in the butt! Also will experiment with some other materials. To see how they work out.
Would love to see that!
This came together nicely! The color is nice and the wheels and tires make it stand out even more. I use the same headliner painting technique you do, think I first learned about it in Scale Auto or Fine Scale Modeler years ago.
👍🏻👍🏻
I haven't tried a Moebius kit . Yet . I've heard good things about them though ..
