I pray for Americans, I live in Canada. We don’t have to do any standardized testing to get into ANY Canadian university, it’s solely based on your grades from your classes / your grade average. That’s also why we have the most people in the world with degrees. Because some people DO NOT test well but they can be smart. You should never base anyone’s intelligence off their test scores.

Not the ACT, but I did the SAT twice and it was TORTURE! Both of those times sucked, I did okay, but they sucked. I get such bad test anxiety, especially during timed anything, so just yeah. Great video! I think you were really able to capture all of the emotions any high school student who takes these truly stupid tests feels afterward.
P.S. Even my parents think they're the dumbest things ever and they are professors, which may say something about the system.
Wait can you explain the tests to me? I’m a junior this year and I get such bad text anxiety. Everyone talks about the tests and our school has never explained them before. What where they about? What kinda classes help prepare? Etc.
those tests are definitely totally stupid, they’re more of a measure of whether you can take a test well or not, instead of the actual knowledge. not really fair to people who don’t do well under pressure etc.
@@ellikatebeale they are two standardized tests to help colleges see your placement for college classes and sometimes they also determine how much scholarships colleges give you; some colleges don’t require them recently due to corona, but it just depends

standardized tests r literally so pointless like just look at my grades they r what i actually work at

As someone who took the SAT in 2016 when i was a senior in hs and scored a 960 (which is an equivalent to an 18 on the ACT) i can tell u test scores really dont matter bc now im a senior studying computer science at University of Illinois Chicago and just landed a full time position as a software engineer so i can def say things do get better and you can really make the best of things in college if you do decide to go, just gotta trust the process.

caiti. i'm not even two minutes in and this completely unrelated to the subject of your video. but u make me want to be a better person. like thinking about how you have such a healthy lifestyle and then you just LIVE like that, benefiting from your discipline in working out and schoolwork constantly. basically every time i watch one of your videos, doesn't matter WHAT its about, you inspire me. and you actually were the reason i started a very productive schedule last summer and was happier because of it. you are a beautiful soul and thank you.

I took the ACT twice and the first time I was super nervous and kinda felt like I had failed and ended up with a composite of 25. I took it again and still felt nervous and ended up getting a 27 and even a 25 is a really good score. But, if you do take it again, chances are your score will go up more likely than it would tank.
i took it in 7th grade and i got a 22😭

I finished high school in 2006 and I passed the SAT tests with no mistakes. It was a 100% complete! YAY!😊😊😊😊😊💙💙💙💙💙💙🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉.

I took the ACT in June of 2021 and shark week decided to come full on in the middle of the test and not one person had stuff with them. So I feel you, not a good experience at all lol. 10/10 do not recommend.

i usually never comment on videos but i FELT this!! i only took the ACT once, my senior year. i get terrible testing anxiety & i literally had someone drive me to school that morning so i could study on the way there. like you, i was also hungry (i didn’t eat anything beforehand) and had to use the bathroom the entire time. not only that, but i found the questions to be so easy yet felt like i had no time at all. just like you said, i would answer about half the questions then randomly fill in the rest. needless to say, i did just as bad as i thought would 😂 but i’m letting everyone know right now: don’t stress that 💩, it’s really not worth it! i ended up taking my college’s placement test and come to find out they only needed a math score from me. i start classes next week. wishing you the best of luck! i’m sure you did good and if not, it’s definitely not the end of the world lol.

i've taken the act twice before and i've found that the second time was so much better than the first. i got a higher score (went from a 25 to a 29) and i felt a lot more prepared since i'd taken it before and knew what to expect, so that calmed me down a lot and definetly helped me improve my score.
Catie, you should maybe get a practice book so you feel more prepared, and make sure to schedule it on a day that you have nothing major to do the day before. Definitely take it again! It’s easier the 2nd time, good luck!

I took the ACT 5x to graduate high school and hated it every time...I swore I'd never take it again...but I had to if I wanted to graduate 🙄 also the more you take it the less nervous and more comfortable you are🖤 but good luck I'm sure you did fantastic and have an incredible day 🖤 love you🤍 ~AJ

Honestly I took the ACT twice in high school and my score was okay but I only did the minimum requirement that I needed to in order to get into college so it’s not as important as a lot of people think

I took ACT and it was too much for me. When I was a junior I didn't get a high score on my ACT either so yup. It was stressful for me to deal in high school.
i took the SAT and i went to two SAT prep courses, studied everynight. i wanted to ace that shit- and i did .... as i should purr.... anyways i went into it and didn't feel nervous until the test booklet plopped onto my desk and i got the worst just rush of anxiety like i got so sick and i coul barely see bc of how anxious i was like my head started to hurt so bad i could only have one eye open. on top of that i had this overwhelming feeling that i had to puke, but i was told if someone pukes then everyone's scores get voided and you have to retake it !!! and didnt want to be the girl who ruined it for everyone so i had to hold my puke in !!!! super fun

Just want to hop on here and say that if you end up getting a really low score on ACT/ SAT...., there's a college named Georgia Gwinnett College that accepts most students with really low scores. And its a really great school with professors who care about their students!

“4 hours of my life that I will never get back” were the exact words that came out of my mouth after I took that stupid ass test. That test was awful, I felt rushed, tired, my anxiety was through the roof. Whoever thought “hey lets make teens take a standardized that determines everything” was stupid.
