We made a “Period 101” video a few years ago, where we went more in depth about the different types of feminine hygiene products (pads, tampons, etc), and what to expect in your cycle. Today’s video, however, is a little less instructional and more of just a sister chat with y’all about our first period stories! We think it’s important for y’all to know that even though periods suck, they are important, and all of us girls are in this together!

I feel a little less alone. Currently on my third period after having a baby. It's bad! I'm bleeding now more than after giving birth 😭
My first period story😙✌🏼: I had been expecting it for a while.. but still wasn’t ready. I was in 7th grade hanging out with my “friend group” which consist of 2 boys and 4 girls. We were at a trampoline park with one of the boys parents. I started feeling terrible, I felt um wet.. I decided to go to the bathroom which was DISGUSTING, and there it was. I texted my bestfriend to come in the bathroom, luckily she had already gotten her period and had some stuff with her. I was quite emotional and we were in the bathroom for a while. Are friends mom ended up coming in there to check in us and we explained what happened. I was all good and everything but the boys were very suspicious. At the time I was way to embarrassed to say anything so I just kinda avoided them. They were trying to make sure I was ok and I ignored them, which I felt really bad about. Later that night me and my friends explained, it was awkward at first but then they said they were sorry we had to go through that and were very nice.

Ye a that’s a really good friend. I’m sorry but my own period grossed me out enough I really don’t think I could offer to do it for my friend. That sounds bad but 😬. I guess if they were having a really hard time I would either try to instruct them or I guess if I had to do it for them but I think that would be last resort.

Oh my gosh I have an awkward first period story! So, I started mine when I was 10 years old. It was in November, when I realised something in my underwear. But before I noticed what it was, my mum thought someone had done a poop at school and had forgotten to wipe! Luckily, the next day I told her I saw something on the toilet tissue. She washed my underwear and after they were washed, I had to wait for them to dry. After a while, they dried. Omg at least my mum had spare pads underneath the kitchen sink! Now, here comes the awkward part. So when my periods started at school, I held my stomach tightly, due to the pain. It was my favourite teacher teaching us on that day. Ever since then, shes been asking, "how's your stomach?" So I just said it was ok. One day, she was taking us out for lunch, but I was the only person in the line. So she asks me about my stomach, and I say, " It's ok, its just I'm starting adulthood." So she whispered to me, "what, you started your periods?" And I nodded. She was like, "ohhhhhhhhhhh." At least no one was there to hear our little conversation about it. So yea, that's the end. Thank you for reading, bye!

What is a diva cup
Also something many people don’t mention is it is VERY normal to not have a second period for months and months it took me 5 months to get a second period. The first period is usually very light so when you get it be prepared for the months after just in case because you don’t know how long it will be!

hi 100 subscibers without video challenge ok so my advice to you would be to carry extra clothes if possible and bring pads everywhere you go cause you can honestly start it anywhere at anytime.And you might not get it at 11 you can get it at 12 cause my mom got hers at 9 but I got mine at 12 so it really depends.Also look for signs

A period story (a person at my school)
I was walking to the office to deliver something and i saw a class in a line and I smelled that period smell. I saw the girl had just gotten her period (the school uniform was khakis) so I asked her teacher to stall for me so I brought her to the bathroom while I went to get my bag and went back to the bathroom. (the girl was in 5th grade and they haven’t had the class about it yet) so I explained to her how she was a woman and gave her some pads (since they are easier to use) and she thanked me. I told her to wear her jacket around her waist so people wouldn’t see the stain. Later that day at the car area I saw her mom and she thanked me for her and gave me sour patch kids!

My body wanted a baby at 11. And my friends uterus wanted a baby when she was 9! 15 is pretty old!
I'm on the swim team, so when I started my period I literally would miss 3 or 4 days of practice. I felt really pressured to put in a tampon, but it hurt when I tried to put it in. Eventually over the summer I figured it out, and using tampons has just made periods so much easier.

my sister and i are twins and i’m older by 5 minutes. i went to the bathroom before we started filming a video and i looked in my underwear and it was brown, i thought i pooped myself. i changed and later that night it happened again so i told my mom and she checked and said i started my period. 5 DAYS LATER, my sister started 😂

When I told my friend a guy leaned forward and heard. He actually assured me it was ok and then asked if I was ok the period after.

My first period. I'm in 6th or 7th grade. I'm in school and start feeling really sick so I go to the bathroom and boom. It started. I got really embarrassed and I didn't have anything for it so I wrapped my underwear in that area with toilet paper and went back and told my teacher who was a close friend that's a girl. She gave me a pad and while I went back to the bathroom and put it on she called my dad and told him and he came and picked me up early. He took me to my mom's work and she worked at a pharmacy so she gave me a box of pads, a big bag of my favorite candy and one if those bottled Starbucks frappuccinos which I love.

I’m a dancer and I use pads and it sucks like I hate it but I’m scared of tampons
well it’s best to try everything, everyone is different. personally i like tampons bc it’s less of a diaper feel, and i can’t rly feel it once i use it. but it may take some getting used to

“A lot of girls struggle with telling their parents” TRUE. I was so embarrassed to tell my mom but after it turned into a totally regular thing. When you’re a young teenager you forget that your parents are actually waiting and prepared for you to come to them when you have it! I told my mom she gave me the run down gave me everything I needed and told me to tell her when I had my next one so she could buy me things. As a young teenager we forget that our parents are adults and this is the norm for them lol dads included. My dad gave me my first period talk before my mom did lol

When I first got my period, it was Christmas Eve, and I felt like I was peeing my pants. So I went to the bathroom and thought I pooped my underwear. So then, I yelled to my mom to come to the bathroom. It took me 30 minutes to say “its bleeding” and I POURED out in tears and I was like DONT TELL ANYONE. so I have had my period for 8 months and my dad doesn’t know, neither does my grandma. Only my mom. And my bestie.

I was at school wearing GREEN pants! (♥️+💚=🤎) I asked my friend to check me and it was bad! (This was 5min into school) I was so shy I was scared to ask to use the bathroom until lunch. I then spent the day passing notes with said friend about the pain! I went home, scared to tell my mom and cried about rooting my favorite pair of pants! A tough day for little me!

I developed pretty early compared to a lot of people so I had recently turned 11 when I got my first period and the whole getting it and telling my mom wasn't the hard part, the hard part was that I had PE the next day and I thought it only lasted one day so that was interesting:)

Liah Guéron also look into other brands! There’s different menstrual cups with different sizes and firmness for different body’s. Diva cups are among the largest and most firm so they don’t work for everyone

Ella Szyrko yeah I actually tried it on my second period but there’s no pressure to use it.. I can say I feel less stressed while using it knowing nothing will spill and it’s more hygienic in my opinion since u don’t sit on ur period for a whole day
I say try it, make sure ur using it correctly like the girls said and if u don’t like it there are other options u can choose from
I absolutely love my diva cup! I will probably never go back. If you never try it you might never figure out it's your new fav period product. 😁 It's really not too scary the first time you just have to get used to putting it in correctly.

my first period was so weird😂 it was the middle of the night and i was hanging out with my 11 year old BROTHER! i saw something weird and i took off my underwear and didn’t put another pair on cause i’m a dumbass. i woke up that morning feeling so wet and gross and i went into the bathroom and BAM BLOOD EVERYWHERE. i got my period in my brothers bed, great job. then my mom came downstairs to say goodbye because i was watching the kids and she knew i was acting weird but i didn’t tell her. later my brothers told my whole family that there was blood in the bathroom at family dinner. yay

I don’t know if this counts, but my first “period” was not actually my period.
I had fallen down the stairs and injured myself *down there*. The next time I went to pee, I had blood with my pee and I thought “omg it’s my period”. Keep in mind, it was only a little bit of blood. I was also in pain because I was actually just injured, and it wasn’t my period.
Later that day, my siblings and I went to our grandparents house. I was so excited because I was finally a woman!!! Yay!!! So I decided to tell my grandma that I finally had my period. She basically announced it to the whole house. “Yay! Congratulations, how exciting!” And my whole family was like ????
I eventually healed up and didn’t have a period for 3 years. When I had my real period, it was obviously different. That time, I didn’t tell my grandma 😂
Okay so I got my period when I was 15 so I was I play on a girls ice hockey team and we were traveling for a tournament out of state. After the first game I did not notice that I had started my period and I had bleed through ALL of my gear, one of the assistant captains noticed and “accidentally” spilled her red Gatorade right where I was sitting to cover up the blood. She also helped me find the washing machine at the hotel to get the stains out(successfully)

I'm a guy but from all the stories I heard from girls around me. Periods are a girl's worst nightmare, you ladies have my respect for dealing with a natural phenomenon that turns your own body organs against each other once a month for a week. *BOWS*
I will say some girls dont have a hard time with their period and dont have bad cramping ....mine ususlly is fine
@@ev_green_ I don't know either way like I said, I'm a dude and we don't have things like periods to worry about. From what I heard though, it is a time when a girl really needs caring and she is an emotional roller coaster.
I guess from a guy's perspective. If I were the boyfriend to a girl. I would cuddle with my girlfriend as much as possible, bring her food, basically be there for her when I can. But I don't know because I never had a girlfriend, and I can't pretend I know this.
