I’m a young’n at 28 and it’s crazy to me that so many people my age and younger have no clue about how our forefathers sacrificed their lives for our country’s freedom.
There will never be another Paul Harvey!! I grew up listening to his voice telling the stories of our nation's founding, and always revealing the life lesson in each!! On Sundays, when his show would come on, the whole house would get quiet. Everybody sat and listened!! Those were the days man!! Back then life was soooo much less complicated!!!
My husband worked in the oilfields a roustabout, mechanic would everyday on his lunch break listen to Paul Harvey, what a beautiful time to live when people cared for God,Country,Family. Let's Make America Great Again and Again. GOD BLESS NOV.5,2024 or sooner!🙏🕊❤🇮🇱🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
This is the history of the American spirit. Many Americans still have this same commitment to this amazing country. God bless every American PATRIOT!!!!!
Only if you'd volunteer to work for free too. We need congress to do their jobs. If they'd just did that we'd be willing to pay them more that what they get paid now.
As a young guy in the mid sixties, in the morning when my dad was getting ready for work he'd listen to Paul on a cube radio. Well so did I, and at the time it was the best thing I could have done for myself.
Thank you Brad for posting this video. I wish that every American would watch it every 4th of July. It is powerful. It is important. It defines what America was intended to be.
I believe there are more men and women of honor today than we realize. They don't make the news. They are the Silent Majority. They are working hard at their jobs, raising families and making contributions to their communities. It was a very small percentage of the population who wanted to break free from England. And yet, they won the Revolutionary War. I agree this country has lost a lot, but I am not ready to give up on her. People are waking up. A spiritual re-awakening has been happening. American history has to be taught. Dr. Carson founded Little Patriots for students K-5. They have to know why this country is great and worth fighting for. Shawn Ryan, a former Navy seal and CIA contractor was interviewed recently by Megyn Kelly. I have always appreciated our Veterans. Most do not openly talk about what war was like. I understand that. But in hearing some of the details of war, my appreciation of Veterans has greatly increased. America has to do a better job of supporting our Veterans. May God bless America!
Man do I miss Paul Harvey. Thank you for posting this. Sadly when I grew up in the 70’s I was required to take Civics, which no longer is taught. I pray for America to have her eyes and ears opened and her heart turned to flesh and not stone. I pray for the lost. May God continue to bless America. 🙋♀️🙏🙏
Only pride I take from my time in irag and Afghanistan. Now the fight is here at our door step! All must ready and one must be ready! Thanks for posting this, needed more then ever.
The most telling thing to me about the Declaration of Independence is it speaks of the DUTY of the People, not just the Rights of the People. I quote, _"Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly, all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their Right, it is their DUTY, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security."_
I agree completely. Each year on the 4th I try to imagine what I would’ve done under those circumstances. I would like to think that I would have fought on the side of the colonists but it’s hard to put myself in their place. There were so many factors to consider. It makes my brain hurt just thinking about it. I hope you’re having a happy 4th of July. :)
@BradDison I do not think he could have ever imagined the devastation this country could or would undergo by our very own government and aided by the media and supported by Americans !
Wow, I'd never heard this before-- either blissfully or foolishly unaware of the existence of this most powerful message from Mr. Harvey. I can't know if his brilliant son penned this, or if Mr. Harvey himself did. But it's an extremely powerful and moving testament to the real sacrifices so many of these men made. And it's so much more impactful and meaningful than these past few decades' worth of passing political "fads" that has consumed the fervor of the neo-patriots who spout their nonsense endlessly to mostly themselves and occasional innocent bystanders. "Talking Points", they're called, though they're really cheap slogans lacking any real meaning-- and certainly won't be backed-up with any form of sacrifice or even honor. Let these words guide your appreciation of this July 4. You'll be a better person for it. Thank you for posting this, Brad!
I’m glad you enjoyed it. I am hopeful for the future of our country. I don’t understand why anyone would want to be a politician. This coming from someone who has no desire for power or wealth. :)

Brad. I hope you see this... I will say that this is the best video you have ever posted. This tells of the actual hardships that the founding fathers had to endure. Loss of lands. Loss of wealth. And eventually loss of their loved ones and their lives. Every single person in this country should see this. People in this country are so concerned about some of the dumbest things possible. Our forefathers were not perfect but they did have integrity. As much as we criticize our country and each other; we would do well to remember all that we have to be grateful for.
I agree completely. We have so much to be thankful for. There is so much for us to be proud of. Each generation has thought the country was going to the dogs. None of us are perfect. I have faith in our country. :)
Bless your heart for posting my favorite American hero. I listened to his syndicated lunch time broadcast most of my "working" life. I never heard or saw this recording. Good form bringing this treasure back to view. A necessary remembrance, the kind of humbling we all could use...
My dad , like me , was a contractor we worked till noon on Saturday , made our way to the hardware store , Paul Harvey came in at 1 pm followed by Ronald Reagan with his fireside stories and no one would even fart to listen to these men AND THATS THE REST OF THE STORY
We used to drive around, my stepdad and I, and we would listen to Paul Harvey... I remember I loved how kind his voice was. I remember that I don't think I always agreed with him when he said certain things but I loved getting information anyway. I was fairly starved for outside information in my family. My mother so carefully curated everything we ever saw or heard. But when he came on the radio, we listened.

Thank you so much for posting this! We are patriots and love our country and the flag which stands for our freedom and for all the lives lost for our freedom. NEVER FORGET !!!
Thank you, Mr. Paul Harvey. And thank you Mr. Brad Dison, for working to find such a needed report. It is sad that there seems to be no Honor in Politics today. I wish they would play this on tv today. But unfortunately, someone on social media would call it all a lie and that would be the end of it. Thank you again Brad.

I’m glad you enjoyed it and maybe learned a few things. That’s the whole point. We should all want to learn at least one new thing each day. I always learn a lot from Mr. Harvey. :)
I'm glad very glad to have seen this video and I only wish that we had men today like we had of yesterday, who actually did give their all for Liberty😊
@@BradDison because of this message my following 4th of July I will think greater things of the men who started our country and what they gave. Thank you so much
