- Stratford-upon-Avon is the birth place and final resting place of the greatest playwright the world has ever known, William Shakespeare. The population is less than 30,000 but each year over three-million visitors from around the world come to see where he lived. Many of the places important to his life are still here and open to the public.

My grandmother grew up here and I've always wanted to visit
I visited Stratford -upon-Avon with a tour group in April 2000. We saw the play "As You Like It" at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre.
I will never forget Stratford and Shottery 😉🦉🌞🦋

One day I will visit Stratford-upon-Avon.
Don't just look at the front of the house.. go to the street behind and see the house and garden from the rear. If you want to see some really nice houses/ mansions when visiting the UK look up the houses and estates owned by the National Trust. Stratford is one of the nicest places to visit as a town but suspect it will be very busy in Summer months. Best to visit on a weekday in Spring time.
I was here in early March. Enjoyed the visit!
I lived in Stratford upon Avon for about a year or so- about a decade ago now come to think of it.
I remember there being a guy who used to walk through the town, going off on one of these crazy pseudo spoken word/singing episodes, blurting out random jibber jabber at the top of his voice through the streets- I did once witness someone telling him to 'shut the fcuk up' once, to which he just laughed and continued.
There was also that other guy who walked up and down the High Street, wearing an A board and a flat cap, handing out flyers for the Antique shop- I always wanted to know what he was listening to through those earphones.
As well as Shakespeare's birthplace, they were two of the other treasures from Stratford!

The commentary is strewn with inaccuracies.. at one point the date of his death is given as April 25th... COME ON!! ... the world knows Shakespeare died on St Georges day (April 23rd)..... (and was most likely born on April 23rd too!)
Sheeesh

Did anyone notice that Bust of Shakespeare look like a very Melanated black man with even the semblance. Of an afro....😲😁
@@jackelinealves3173 I'm not "Black" I am Burkinese lol and no disrespect You're an Agent Smith just lik 85% of people existing 😂😂 Miss me with your Psedu-Epistemological Stance Slick..
You are correct I did Because "Black" is not a nationality or ethnicity either My Race Specifically Is Busansi.. That is a tribe In Burkina-Faso
@@jackelinealves3173 They used to Call Shakespeare a Crow.... If you are meant to Know things The Most High reveals them to you..
I live here and its shite for night life
Not everyone wants nightlife as you suggest. It is a good town though.. any hints for good food and drink places to visit in the area? The Boston Tea Party pub is very good and I recommend it but must get packed out?
M James I live in one of the neighbouring towns try vintner bit pricey but you should get a good meal
The best video I have yet seen of this amazing place. Informative, interesting and much as I remember from our visit. Good dialogue and script. Those interested in showcase videos of this type, should check out vimeo.com/91341008 This video of Canterbury has some stunning views, including some taken inside the Cathedral with a drone, great footage from a perspective that can't be seen any other way.
I came here on the 16/11/2018 for a school trip
Lovely place to visit 😊
So did I - it is probably a shock to some of those watching this film to think that living in Stratford are normal working people, worrying about their families, health and trying to pay their mortgages, and who don't give a **** about William Shakespeare.
LUCKY
