There's still a level of excitement beyond this, if you can believe it. I've only ever seen it when we arrive at a familiar bird hunting ground. One of my vizslas would shake like a leaf and make a noise that I can only describe as a "crooning, chirp". The second you opened the door they'd take a flying leap out of truck and go sailing off into the countryside at full gallop.
I just fell upon this breed a few days ago. And they are such a wonderful breed. I dont think i'll ever get one because they are so active and need so much love and attention. But from a distance i admire them greatly. Plus my two Jindos are a handful as is. Thx for sharing!
Thanks for the video. Your V's are very cute. Our two V's don't get that vocal when we go our for our runs...but they are as troublesome when you're trying to get your shoes on :) One of our two V's is a rescue, because the family simply could not get him the daily exercise and attention he needed. So for those interested in a Vizsla, I think you should ask yourself if you can devote at least an hour a day outside in an off-leash area 7 days a week. V's are bird dogs, very athletic, and built to hunt large areas for hours. A 5 mile run off leash is almost nothing for our two. A 12 mile mtn bike ride will tire them out...but they are only 3.5 yrs old.
Ed O'Neill so you think that if I work in the week and let them run in the field at morning for 20min, than 30min to 1hours walking off-leash at noon and 1hour walking (or mtb riding) at night would be ok for them if I can give them a day of activities on the week end ?
Yes. Each dog is different, and my key point is that they need exercise and mental stimulation. Training, even indoors will also tire your dog, so factor that in too. Our two most active dogs still need an hour a day off leash in large ares (I run with them), but one foster would be fine with 30 min. or so...he's just not as active. So watch your dog. If he's still hyper at 10 pm...he probably needs more exercise...although again, we have one dog that even after an hour outside, will run around for an hour inside playing wildly : ). Good luck. Pls try to socialize your dog in dog parks etc as well. Good luck...they are a lot of work but are very devoted dogs.
It’s the Socks.! My Viszlas have repeatedly stolen my running socks and buried them in the garden.Weird, but normal for a Viszla. They also make those vocal whines and croons when I put the socks in the wash baskets where they cannot get hold of them
All I had to do was say "walk" and my vizsla would go mad. We have to change it to "you-know-what" so he would keep calm. It was when he saw his lead that he would get really hyper. I miss him :-(
I promise this isn't a dig at you; it's merely an observation: By petting your dogs when they are in this state, you are actually reinforcing their excited behaviour, much like a Chihuahua owner petting their dog when it snarls at a passer-by. Beautiful dogs, though, and it is clear that you love them.
+Erika Mikó actually thats theyre nomral behavior . vizslas r not mellow dogs. there ment for hunting so its not like they can sit around all day. and they take orders very good. did u see how they sat? most dogs r very energized. its just the way they r. dog like labs dalmation, pitbulls, weimeraners, german shepherds and a bunch more are like this. so no, they are not, not well behaved.
You know there is a reason we do that? Viszlas are breed to be hunting dogs, so hunt is what they do. With a tail as long as they have, they're prone to injury and cuts. Docking their tail is only to help them and prevent further damage
It's not that difficult, running, doing tricks and maybe do trailing and they are happy with you! Also there are many forums for vizslas where you can get tipps
u will need a large enough backyard to handle them. in it isnt bg enough u can take them to a big dog park everyday. u will have to walk them 2+ times per day. they dont need a whole kilometer per day. but once and a while u should take them out for a big walk. my gsp goes 4 miles every week or so. and we rake him for 2-3 walks a day depending on the day. we have a descent size backyard too and rhe woods are near by so they have room to run and excersise. u could also try swimming and u will NEED to buy a squeaky ball for it. or try a chuck it.
LichtdesMorgens you say this so easely but if you are working you cannot do this everyday. It takes time. I want one because I need an actif dog to follow me during my bike rides in the woods. Most of the time it's like 1 or 2 hours long...but in the week on working days Its often juste 20min walking befor work, 30min to 1hour walking or biking at noon and 1 to 2 hours at night. I hope its enought or how can you handel such a dog when you work ? I have the whole day at week-end and I love hiking and riding my bike but in the week Its not that easy. I think.
michelle Lebugle I wrote that comment when I was indeed unemployed. Thats different now. If you are outside on weekdays as you describe it should be enough!
Mine is going on a riot when he sees me putting on shoes. I see that you know exactly what you're doing there: you're not bending over to tie your shoes. I think I know whats happening if you do ;) .
Michelle The breed of dog he is talking about are so loveable though. They are smart enough to mess with you and make you feel guilty for getting mad at them. Vizsla's are similar in that way. Viszla's and Weimaraner's are my two favorite breeds but they can be sneaky and have a lot of energy.
Vizslas are always very happy and excited, if they have super long tails, when they wag their tail, it could get caught, causing the dog lots of pain. Plus, these vizslas might have been born with that short of tails. Its the same length as my Vizsla's
excited but still civilized. I love them and I clearly recognize my dog in them.
Vizsla's are the best dogs
That’s how my Vizslas get too when I’m putting on my shoes for a walk! 😂😂😂

This is calm compared to what I have to deal with at home
same. ive had a vizsla and now a obe year old gsp! so worth it tho! i love him!
so typical of the Vizsla especially if the think there going for a walk!!

i am jealous! such good dogs!
Awwww 🥰 they are adorable
This is awesome. I've seen 5 year olds about to enter Disney less excited than your V's.
Typical Vizsla, gotta love them!
Beautiful DOGS! Magyar Vizsla!

That sounds like doggy heaven! They seem like sweet dogs so it's great to know they get to have fun. Best to you and the dogs.

My Palinka does whinny when I'm getting my shoes on also....

Where did you get these guys. Super gorgeous!!! I am researching Vizsla breeders and plan to get a puppy eventually!
Not me, but my Vizsla? Oh, yeah.
This is definitely a behaviour I would want to reinforce.
+Erika Mikó also, can u blame them? there exited! i dont think anyone would just be sitting around if they were excited.
"Hurry Up, we need to pee!"
Haha. Does this happen every morning??
haha my dogs act the same when i take the leesh out
Go walking,kkkkk
My GSP is the same. Haha

That is a very strange question.
Love that they did NOT dock their beautiful tails. How can we know what they are thinking or feeling if we DOCK their tails?
You know there is a reason we do that? Viszlas are breed to be hunting dogs, so hunt is what they do. With a tail as long as they have, they're prone to injury and cuts. Docking their tail is only to help them and prevent further damage
I'm interested in Vizlas, but am curious how I'll be able to exercise them enough - do they go on a run with you in the morning? 2K, 5K? 10K ???
It's not that difficult, running, doing tricks and maybe do trailing and they are happy with you! Also there are many forums for vizslas where you can get tipps

I can run up too 15 km with my Vizla.

no control over the dogs...they probably walk you
♡♡♡♡♡♡
THEY HAVE TO PEE GET GOING

This is a strange question, but do they poop standing on their front two legs?
What....?
yeeesssssss, my weimaraner it's worse, he bites me, takes my shoes, and shout shout shout, jump, run, goes crazy.
PiliSilver and you are happy about it ?!
😗😗😗😗😗
Beautiful dogs! However praising them for crowding you isn't the best thing to do.
I don't like the tails docked so short
