I was at a Pacers game years ago when Clark was injured. I said hi to him and we had a nice conversation about the extent of his injury. He was a true gentleman.
Bernard King, if he had better health and better teammates, would be talked about a lot more today. and Marques Johnson - briefly mentioned - also had serious game! Oh, and Clark Kellogg was very, very good.
I first saw Clark Kellogg play in March of 1979 at the Ohio high school boys' state basketball championship. Kellogg had 51 points and 24 rebounds in the AAA championship game in the greatest single performance I have ever seen in person. Unfortunately, none of Kellogg's teammates could buy a bucket. It was clear that at halftime, Kellogg's coach told the other players just to get the ball into Kellogg's hands in the second half. They did, but Kellogg's team, Cleveland St. Joseph, LOST to Columbus East and his eventual teammate at Ohio State and the Indiana Pacers, Granville Waiters. I was amazed at Clark Kellogg's performance and have been a fan ever since. He's a pretty good broadcaster too. Interestingly, before that championship game, while waiting to get into the arena, I heard some St. Joe's fans commenting that Granville Waiters looked like a 40 year old man. Haha. He actually did.
Bernard King was very good in NBA & N.Y.Knickerbockers in that time period. B.KING was over shadowed by Bird, Magic J. Alex English, Kiki Vandaway Micheal Cooper. (Lou Al Sinder A. J.). LA.LAKERS, BOSTON CELTICS Philly 76ers players stole the show & spotlight Moses Malone, Dr.J.
Bernard King was every bit as the real deal as bird if not better and that is no joke anybody that doesn't think so just go watch some of his highlights even when he played for the bullets
I totally agree. B.K. was uncheckable.. u gotta remember, 3 pointers wasn't what it is now... His fast breaks and midrange game was unstoppable.. U really had no answer for him.. Even with a surgical knee, he recovered and Was Still A Beast..
Been saying it for decades that Bernard not making the NBA’s original top 50 list was a slap in the face & MORE it not being named in the top 75 list…His HOF induction was way overdue…,
Dan loves Bird trash talking stories more than life itself.
Me to
That and MJ stories. They’re the best!
Same
Me too
Nothing better!
Bernard King had the quickest release I've ever seen

I remember Bernard King in those days--Clark Kellogg's description was spot-on. (Bernard could light it up!!)
Bernard King was definitely a difficult assignment, he was a beast for a bit.
Bernard king had a career ending knee injury, came back a couple years later and played well enough to make the all star team.
Bernard King was as good as it gets in the early to mid 80s.
B king unstoppable; long arms for sure, relentless, etc.
Bernard King, if he had better health and better teammates, would be talked about a lot more today. and Marques Johnson - briefly mentioned - also had serious game! Oh, and Clark Kellogg was very, very good.
Bernard King was a scoring machine
Bernard was incredible. Larry, Nique, Dr J all have the utmost respect for him. Cuz he gave them all major headaches!
Yep
@@joecalhoun5303was just as good as everyone of them
Nobody stopped Bernard King.
Bernard King was 6' 7" not 6' 5". With that, being a tweener, he, King, was guarded by 6 5 and 6 9 forwards.

How long did Dan and Larry date?
Kareem's hook shot and King's jumper from the corner, those were automatic points!
Bird the best ever ! But Bernard King ! Phewww the best scorer maybe
Good argument!!!
Bird was a great player but he was not even the best Celtic.
How can you not love Clark.?
They worship Larry on this show! Lol
Just like all the Jordan fans! One difference is bird was great jordan overrated player
Bernard Green was a beast!!!
I.meant Bernard King!!!

@@slovell920he was as good as anybody except JORDAN
@@slovell920I would take Larry Bird or Bernard King any day of the week over Kobe Bryant
The Knicks should have never traded Bernard King with Patrick Ewing coming in.
Clark Kellogg was a beast when he played at st. Joseph high School in Cleveland Ohio.
What happened to Mcglovern?
Dan Patrick would marry Larry Bird if Larry would have him

BK...SO UNDERRATED❗🎯
Bernard my favorite player
I dont think larry would be as good if he didnt trash talk. I think he did it because it elevated his game.
Bernard King my man from UT Vol for life shows how these goobers don’t know much about the NBA. Check the Ernie and Bernie show at UT in the late 70s
Bernard King was a Michael Jordan type of player. Shame he got hurt so young.
Bernard remembers Larry Legend hates Hot Dogs!
Larry Legend.
The real King is Bernard.
Bernard was a king
Kellogg could play. Too bad the knee wouldn't cooperate.
Go Bucks!
