Mario is WonDerFuL! He knows what he's talking about and is professional. And you - you remind me of Diane Keaton in this video with all the things you learned. Can't wait for Part II.

Thank you! This was WONDERFUL and so helpful! Now my thoughts are on my knitted garments and the importance of fit on them as well. It’s definitely time to slow down and carefully think through the process and the fit of any garment I knit or sew. Yay for alterations both before and after a garment is made!

Thank you, thank you !!! I grew up with my grandfather who’s was mens tailor so I learned all kind of “ rules” from him and also how to distinguish quality fabric from “ cheap” one . Living here in USA I noticed that even sales people don’t have enough knowledge in that area . So thank you , thank you ! Contribution is greatly appreciated!!!!

Loved this episode❤ I learned a lot. I am an OG JCrew client and own many of their jackets. I had to eventually give some away when I developed muscle due to working out and moved from size 4 to size 6 to accommodate my shoulders and upper arms.

This is so informative. One question I wonder if you might ask sometime if Mario comes back in the future is regarding shoulder fitting of jackets for women who are curvier / bustier. I have narrow shoulders and can get jackets to fit properly when I am (was) thinner, but it seems that as they grade jackets, they make everything larger in proportion, even though your shoulder wouldn't (I think) typically get so much larger as you gain weight. Or at least that's my experience ... maybe trying on too inexpensive brands when I was younger and searching for such a thing, and haven't tried on a jacket like that in a long time. Anyway, just wondering what Mario would suggest, since shoulder alteration is so expensive. Is there a way for a curvier / larger woman to get a shoulder that fits and not have the whole jacket be too small. I hope that makes sense. Thank you!

Mario knows his stuff! My dad was a custom tailor, and over the many years of him tailoring our clothes (mostly off the rack as well as custom made) I learned how to recognize what fit well and what didn’t. When Mario was talking about the different things he would adjust, I felt like I was hearing my dad, LOL. It’s amazing what a good tailor can do to make a huge difference in how a garment fits and what a big difference that makes. It will be fun to see how elevated these jackets will be after being tailored to fit you. Great podcast, thank you!
