This is SO fantastic! How wonderful to see a spotlight on a different craft. HIs experience and expertise is evident. How cool for him to have his talent recognized, this was very informative.
Mario is WonDerFuL! He knows what he's talking about and is professional. And you - you remind me of Diane Keaton in this video with all the things you learned. Can't wait for Part II.
Thank you! This was WONDERFUL and so helpful! Now my thoughts are on my knitted garments and the importance of fit on them as well. It’s definitely time to slow down and carefully think through the process and the fit of any garment I knit or sew. Yay for alterations both before and after a garment is made!
Thank you, thank you !!! I grew up with my grandfather who’s was mens tailor so I learned all kind of “ rules” from him and also how to distinguish quality fabric from “ cheap” one . Living here in USA I noticed that even sales people don’t have enough knowledge in that area . So thank you , thank you ! Contribution is greatly appreciated!!!!
I loved this! Thank you so much for showing this discussion. I also love a jacket with my outfits and am wanting to expand my jacket collection. This episode had such useful information.
Loved this episode❤ I learned a lot. I am an OG JCrew client and own many of their jackets. I had to eventually give some away when I developed muscle due to working out and moved from size 4 to size 6 to accommodate my shoulders and upper arms.
Wow, this is such good stuff! What seems like a few small (and expertly placed) adjustments just totally transforms the whole look, and makes such a big difference. Well, I need a good tailor now.
This was so interesting! more fashion content please! I am looking forward to seeing how you style and wear your handmade knits. I also loved ❤ your first episode.
This is so informative. One question I wonder if you might ask sometime if Mario comes back in the future is regarding shoulder fitting of jackets for women who are curvier / bustier. I have narrow shoulders and can get jackets to fit properly when I am (was) thinner, but it seems that as they grade jackets, they make everything larger in proportion, even though your shoulder wouldn't (I think) typically get so much larger as you gain weight. Or at least that's my experience ... maybe trying on too inexpensive brands when I was younger and searching for such a thing, and haven't tried on a jacket like that in a long time. Anyway, just wondering what Mario would suggest, since shoulder alteration is so expensive. Is there a way for a curvier / larger woman to get a shoulder that fits and not have the whole jacket be too small. I hope that makes sense. Thank you!
Super interesting and educational! Love this, and love that it touched on some aspects that we didn't even know contribute to why a jacket may be just a touch off-perfect. Great info!
What a wonderful video. I loved the perspective and insight shared with regard to all of your jackets. You are such a good communicator and I look forward to all that you do and share. Thank you!
This was AWESOME! Thank you so much for this subject…. It will be so helpful in articulating why my sweaters and, yes my sewn garments fit or do not fit.
Mario knows his stuff! My dad was a custom tailor, and over the many years of him tailoring our clothes (mostly off the rack as well as custom made) I learned how to recognize what fit well and what didn’t. When Mario was talking about the different things he would adjust, I felt like I was hearing my dad, LOL. It’s amazing what a good tailor can do to make a huge difference in how a garment fits and what a big difference that makes. It will be fun to see how elevated these jackets will be after being tailored to fit you. Great podcast, thank you!
Hello this is Mario from Monetti Tailoring, thank you so much for the nice words. But nothing it could be done with out Jakie , she’s an amazing person, and giving the opportunity to work with and doing the videos

It’s a Tippi sweater from J.Crew, my all time favorite silhouette, a close second, the Jackie twinsets.
