    great video! love to see how others are rigging their ursas. love my g2, just struggling with my tripod because the rig gets heavy quick, probably going to get an used sachtler. cheers!

      btw something that I bought recently and can’t live without are better handles - got the shape push button, expensive but you can change the orientation with ... a push of a button lol it’s pretty great :) just used on a shoot and wanted to share ✨

    Truly an outstanding video. I have had a BM G1 in a box for like a 18 months (long story) and am finally getting to build the kit out for it. I have watched ALOT of these videos and you did the best job I have ever seen for a newbie trying to figure out how to put things together, what to get, what order to do it. Subscribed and buying stuff through your links. If you get some referral money buy a beer in my name. I am sure I will have other questions here in the future so I apologize if you see me here alot.

      @@LunaScopeJustin Absolutely. I shot a feature length film about 10 years ago with a RED ONE. Loved that. Damn that ecosystem is overpriced. I fell in love with the BM ecosystem and am hoping to do some documentary work in addition to training/livestream (yeah that camera is a bit overkill) so figuring out which accessories work is so important. So easy to waste money.

    Can that wireless focus instead adjust zoom ?

    • @LunaScopeJustin

      @@LunaScopeJustin I ask as I have been using B4 lens, which have motorized zoom control on lens itself. But B4 lens are limited for pro-consumer use on 4k/6k cameras. Oh, did a metric screw mess up the coarse SAE 3/8th threads ?

    Question about the batteries - I would be plugging into power for most of the time. Your D-tap - is that taking up the power port?

    • @LunaScopeJustin
      @LunaScopeJustin  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Are u talking about dc power, if so the dc power port is under the sdi plugs and not blocked by the dtap or vmount battery but it wouldnt run the other dtap attachments in this scenario

    I’m looking to buy this camera in the first week of Nov. I had planned to buy the ursa handle and shoulder mount kit. Is price the only reason you didn’t go that route? Seems like it could’ve resolved a few of those minor compatibility issues. I really enjoyed your video because of the fine detail you went into regarding rigging. I didn’t know I had to buy the V-mount plate! So aside from the ursa shoulder kit, vmount plate, tripod plate, ursa viewfinder, Tilta M, 4K monitor, rails, a couple batteries and a couple of c-fast cards, all I would need is lenses and I’m ready to shoot? It’s crazy how much stuff you have to buy to get ready to shoot. I’m coming from a Sony A73 and Canon 5D mark 4, which was literally pop on a lens and go! Great video, please make more, loved your quirky personality!

      Thanks for watching, I bought the Came Tv shoulder mount kit because it had better reviews, and I really like it, just not the top handle... also I didnt realize the aide handle disnt come with the camera.

      I have the OG NMD shoulder kit for ursa, works great, no compatibility issues to speak of

    • @thetys4659
      @thetys4659 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I really don't understand those types of comments. Like any camera would come with a full accessories package. The only thing that an Ursa lacks in comparison to a DSLR Cam is a battery. Your Sonys or Canon won't come with a shoulder kit, vmount plate, tripod, external video evf, wlc, external monitor, rails or cards aswell. And if you don`t buy a Kit no optics either. But I much prefer buying my own lenses instead of buying kits. Those things are up to your choice to decide how you want to shoot.
      The Ursa may have no batteries but it has a power plug. Both cameras you can insert a simple sd card, put on a lens and you are ready to shoot.
      There is a reason there are no batteries or plates included. Because there are entirely different systems to use. You can decide wether you want to use gold mount or vmount and there are huge amounts of different products to choose from.
      If one doesn't understand why one would need so much extra equipment maybe this type of camera and shooting style isn't for you and it's a better choice sticking to smaller camera systems. And if you understand and want all that equipment I don't understand that the freedom of choice which equipment you need and of which brand you buy it, is bothering you.
      People have different needs. Those cameras are as cheap as possible as a base and can be rigged up to everyones individual favor.
      You actually won't need much. A lens a battery (aswell as a plate) and a sd card. The same as with every other camera.
      Sorry for my rant. Just tired of comments about the need of accessories.
      I think it's just that most people that buy bigger cameras really want to rig it up and have their first contact with rigging culture that way ^^
      And yes it is shocking how much money can be put in additional accessories.

      @@LunaScopeJustin I didn't know you saw that message before i delete it haha. But yeah, thats a killer camera you got there, i would trade everything i bought for photo and videography so far for this camera with some cinema lenses and Davinci resolve and a decent light rgb lighting set. Thats pretty much all i would need nowadays.
      But yeah i really like the Gh5 anyway, i just start watching Austen Paul's video so i figure i might need this type of camera to get that type of project (120 fps at real 4k and all). Anyway sorry for the novel.... haha
      Maybe next year, i try stock footage with my gh5 since couple weeks (actually filming and editing other than just thinking about it...
      Anyway, hope your project goes well and all, good stuff!
      And yeah sorry if my english may seems weird, i'm french and i mostly learning it by watching youtube and reading comment ;)
