  • Days after the death of the first cub, two more cheetah cubs of Jwala died on Thursday in Madhya Pradesh's Kuno National Park. Jwala (Siyaya) gave birth to four cubs on March 24.

    Mortality rate is high in these species even in their natural habitat. Death of six Cheetahs doesn't indicate the failure of the project. Relocation of species in an entirely new environment is a challenging task. History indicates that the survival rate of African cheetahs is very low in unfenced conditions due to other carnivores. First of all now another national park with fenced conditions and enough prey must be considered without delay for relocation. Kuno, became the unsuccessful spot even after a lot of studies done by experts. Now it's high time to opt for another national park.

      Maybe they should focus on translocating lions in India instead so they all don’t keep dying from distemper outbreaks

They depend on bureaucrats for everything. Bureaucrats are in fact stupid people who have expertise in nothing. They only have a haughty and corrupt pervert nature that's it.     Cheeta word hee India se aaya aur ye bol raha hai india mein cheeta nahi the. Bhai kuch bhi. It's a new project so initial glitch honge hee. I an 100% sure cheeta will florish in india. Our generation will see 1000 of cheeta in india.

    This thapar has lost his mind ,but this is the problem with most of the Thapars in India .😂 . Cheetah also die in Africa it not that Every Cheetah Cubs who are born Africa live up to become a Adult Being .

    Valmik Thapar behaves as if he is last word for conservation. In Masaimara only 20 % cheetah cubs survives.The bottom line for feku like Rajdeep even this cheetah conservation prog in India is just another handle to belittle Modi

      Though in African very less numbers survive out of many...wht will it be in terms of least like in 20s nil will survive then...
      In India know it's difficult for cheetahs to hunt it will not get a big open landscape like in African...

      My man in the open, untouched habitat the numbers of cubs surviving is very low, I understand but in the enclosed, secure environment with 4 officials looking after i cheetah the rates are more than 80%.

      No the temperature in Africans forest s in slightly lower tough it is surrounded by deserts...the temperature in their forest s is less..it stays cooler...
      But in India it's too high coz of plateau s may be....
