Nice video! I agree with all of this I've had some real issues with the playback in particular- getting basic rhythms wrong is a personal favourite. Let's hope things will improve!
No I'm so glad you made this video, it's not a pathetic rant. I think it's funny that you appeared in my recc and as I set you as a background video while I make a score reduction of my orchestral piece on MuseScore 3.6. I think they literally struck gold with 3.6. I was so excited about MS 4 but it's utter garbage, so buggy and inefficient. 3.6 was lightweight, fast, snappy, and "just worked". 4 is an absolute mess, so many AMAZING features were simply removed especially if you are an orchestral composer. I am currently working as a professional composer and I am commissioned by orchestras and I still use 3.6 lmfao, I don't think they realize that people were actually dependent on MuseScore for composition gigs and they really fucked it up.
I understand you hate MS4, you should just continue using 3.6, don't even bother with 4 for the next couple YEARS.
(P. S.) Uhh I have to disagree with Sibelius and Finale. I have written about 30 minutes of Band Music in Finale (so about 400 hours of work) and it was an absolute nightmare (especially on Windows). Similarly I did a lot of music theory HW on Sibelius and the only button I like is "quit Sibelius") Have you used them? I don't think you should suggest them if you haven't used them Have a look at dorico! It's newer, made from people who broke off from I think sibelius and actually made a good product. I have used it but admittedly not as much as Finale or Sibelius. That being said, MS 3.6 FAR outclasses Finale and Sibelius but probably not Dorico, more and more composers seem to be adopting it.
Glad you enjoyed it and glad it was meaningful! It truly was disappointing how musescore was doing so well and then just suddenly out of nowhere just destroyed it.
Sidenote: While I respect a lot of what my commenters have to say, please refrain from profanity since I do have family and young people following this channel, thank you🙏
Okay sibelius isn't THAT bad😂, but I agree 3.6 is snappier
Honestly, Sibelius's issue is that it's not user friendly at all, but once you learn how to use it it's pretty useful.
Hopefully Martin comes across this video. The Musescore team seems pretty open to feedback
Hopefully, I'm keeping my fingers crossed
The mods are such petty assholes just insulting people though
I believe they revamped the internal engine for version 4, since they remade a big chunk of the UI... it was bound to be buggy for a while.
That said, years have passed and there are still a lot of major bugs... it's hard to stay optimistic about it.
Yeah, while the UI was pretty good, the difficulty of working with it was just too much, while downloading the standalone version of the app helped a lot, it is still pretty confusing and difficult to use smoothly. Luckily it is possible to import exported midi files from MS4 to MS3.
u should see a speech therapist for your issue with s
no u
Well, I'm working on it, it drives me nuts listening to myself sometimes. But my speech used to be much worse XD
maybe you should see a psycho therapist for your issue of thinking thats a normal thing to say to someone
@@WAVE_Music007 Stand by it. I don't know this for sure, but it sounds to me like you're what's called a "dipper" in speech language pathology as opposed to a "tipper". This means that instead of the more common allophone produced with the tip of the tongue near the top teeth, the tip is near the bottom teeth instead. This is totally normal, and in some languages is the majority pronunciation, as much as you might hate the sound of it in your own voice (I do it, and I feel that). The main challenge is trying not to reduce it to a "th" or "sh" sound when it comes close to other dental-ish consonants, like "t", "d", "th", "l", "n", or close front vowels like "ee" and "ey". If it bothers you, try practicing words with clusters involving "s" or words with both "th" and "s" in it--like bats, taste, this--and making sure the "s" comes out clear. I don't know how much it'll help in casual speech, but it's helpful if you're reading a script and need to turn it off momentarily.
Thank you!! I'll keep this in mind. It's been pretty difficult trying to keep it under control but this could help🙏
