Wow. Great looking board.. I love the way they sound. I've actually had a few tracks mixed down on a pro mix 1. Sounded bananas. Can't beat those EQ's.. Real warm ..

Dude knows a lot about mixing. With this kind of dressing, I would expect him to sell me a mortgage. Or a car. Definitely not a sound mixer, though.

    thanks. great info!
i'm about to use this board for the first time at a show in a couple weeks. the band wants 6 different monitors being used with 6 different mixes. would the most common process be to send these mixes out through aux's?
i understood how to assign tracks to VCAs through this video, but what about assigning tracks through AUX's?
is it likely that the venue I'm working at (super professional) will have their aux's sent out to on stage monitors?
thanks for any info! this will be the largest gig i've done by myself so i want to make sure i do it right!

I hope your show went well. For people here in the future...
Yes. There are a couple of ways to configure the mix busses. The "mix" type is analogous to the typical Aux sends found on analog consoles. Just as the channel strip (where Jay is changing the EQs) represents the top half of an analog input strip, the pairs of red, green, yellow, and blue knobs just to the right of the channel strip represent the lower middle quarter where you find the aux send knobs on an analog board. The buttons next to each knob select whether the input is routed to the AUX, and whether it's pre- or post-fader. The arrow keys at the bottom of this section scroll through the 24 configurable output busses.
It is very likely that the venue already has their stage monitors set up this way. Because the mix buses can also be configured as subgroups, and control assignment is not limited by analog circuits laid out under the surface, buses 1-8 may be subgroups and 9-16 as aux sends, or vice versa or any mixture limited only by the technician's imagination and preferred workflow.

I think they are are supposed to look like Midas' Heritage consoles from the 90s.
