I loooooove Hobbii 💖🧶 I order from them all the time and they have different specials all the time. Always quick delivery and very kind customer service.

You are welcome! I am glad to help. I like reviews that show the yarn in use so that's what I do. Besides, one reason why I make these videos is for my own recollection. :)
Thank you for your review! Perhaps someone has mentioned it already, but “bomuld” = cotton and “hør” = linen. So your black Spring yarn is a cotton / linen blend. It’s such fun that you Americans love a Danish yarn internet website 😃🇩🇰
I started knitting in January this year only and have placed almost 10 orders on Hobbii. I love the yarn, the quality and especially the colours. They are absolutely beautiful. I discovered Hobbii at Instagram and it is my top favorite yarn shop. Also because of the swift delivery within Europe, usually takes 2-3 working days. Keep the spirit, Hobbii!!!
You're lucky to be in Europe where you get 2-3 day delivery! I am in the USA and it takes about a week...but that is totally fair and I have waited longer for packages from Joanne (a craft store in the USA).
This is 2 years late, but I'm a beginner and of all the yarn unboxing and review's video's that I have seen (plenty), you are the only one who has shown your having actually used the yarn in a project to give others an idea of what they can expect. Pictures on the website is different than a video explanation and the final outcome. This was truly informative.
Thank you for reviewing Hobbii yarns. I recently placed my first order with them, a Twister cake to make a shawl and a few balls of the Rainbow Cottons to make Mandalas. I am eagerly waiting for my delivery now 😀
You're very welcome, it was my pleasure! I am obviously so impressed with Hobbii's yarns so far. I did just cheat on Hobbii, though, and placed an order with Skye Bazaar (www.skyebazaar.com). I'm looking forward to seeing how they compare. Anyway, you will love Twister and the Rainbow yarns!
I love the beautiful cake yarns on Hobbii. I just bought some Jarbo Cookie yarn on sale. Waiting for these gradient cakes to go on sale. The first two cakes you showed are my colors. And I love the way gradient yarns crochet up. So pretty!
What beautiful vibrant yarns. I’m with your daughter, I love the purpled to deep blue gradient. That’s my daughters colors and she seen it and immediately wants a pineapple shawl. So, we are placing an order today for enough for matching shawls. Thanks for sharing the yarns you bought.
With the 'cookie crumbs', maybe you could make a pair of fingerless gloves to match the poncho? or a loose Tam-O-Shanta? or a wristlet purse, or a small cross-body bag - just big enough to put keys and a small amount of money in...sorry if I've rambled on a bit, but the possibilities are endless :)
I am geeking out with you. I looked on the website for that Twister in Jungle colorway. They are $18 right now but I do see some on clearance for $15. I love that shawl you made.
619to253 if you keep checking they change their sale items frequently. I bought the cotton kings twirls which were on offer at £7.50/almost 900yds, which is prob about $10. The sale items are always advertised on Facebook if you’re on that. Twirls is a dream to work with.
So glad to see someone feeling the same as me I’m still waiting for mine to arrive. I’ve received one package with 2 items & loving them but the rest is being held up for some reason??? I know it’s now in my county Australia 🇦🇺 but I want it delivered to me as I’ve been waiting for over 2 weeks now & yes I’m a repeat buyer I’m like a kid at Christmas 😱😱😱😱💖💖💖💖
Love the colors you picked. I keep seeing everyone giving hobbii a try. I don't order online but love to watch you ladies get these packages. Executed for you, and like your channel. Maybe in future I'll try them
That was totally awesome! Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experience with us. I love yarn reviews because it gives me a chance to see it before I buy. And you did one better by showing your projects. Loved every minute. 👍🏿👏🏾✊🏾😁
Very nice projects you have made and in the process of making! I believe this is the first time I have come across your channel and have subscribex because I love crochet!
Thank you so much for the wonder review. I love Fiber Spider and Bag-O-Day! I think your review was just a smidge better because you showed us things that you have made. I have wanted to get Hobbii yarn for a lost souls shawl and was not sure about it. You have sold me..... thank you.
The cookie a headband. Doesn't look like a bulky five. Was is nice to work with. Yes the bag sales are awesome. Always so impressed with the surprise bags. Super great selection and colors. And so much yarn. I felt like a winner.
Hi Helen. I recently crocheted a shawl on the Twister. My friend wanted a poncho in the same colours as the one I had chosen. I was thinking the fabric is too fine for a poncho so I was so happy to see that you had made one. Thanks for sharing. Your video was very useful for me. I loved seeing your haul, such good fun xxx
Yay! Fellow yarn lovers! I watch bag o day too. I love Crystal. I’m glad I found you. I bought two Baltic Amber because of her. I’m so happy to see ideas with this yarn because it seems like everything is bulky or Aran. So, yay! I think that jungle color is gorgeous! All of hobbii yarn is so fun to work with. I too get the DRAPE! Haha. Thanks for the fun video and the yarn eye candy!!
Watching your video. I am laughing it could be me telling my story. I even ordered that twister. I have two orders I’m waiting for now and still looking to see what I can get next. Love your work. 😊
Thank you for posting this review. Its nice to see video of the yarn and it's especially nice to see how they work up and how the material acts as far as drape and such.
@@calicocado I hear you! I have about a half a dozen storage tubs filled with yarn...and still I have yarn with no place to go! I need to stop buying, but it's just so fun to let my creative imagination run away with new yarn ideas. I need a good stash buster project to make some room - LOL
Oh......, I just placed and order last night. Both of those first two where great the way the Gradation lime green to blue almost periwinkle looks fantastic. My order was for cookie cakes and that poncho looks great. Thanks for sharing
LOL Jackie! I'm not sorry, though. I am really loving all the yarn I got from Hobbii...except the 8/2 cotton print by Cotton Kings I got. I mean, it's gorgeous but full of knots (found three knots in a 50g ball). I did purchase it on a deep discount as part of a 10 ball special deal, so maybe this is why. Still, it's working up nicely. What yarn did you get?
ethora it has arrived! Yay! I got Happy Feet, Twister, Colour Bomb and another kind of cake (I think a cotton kings? ) that the name escapes me right now, plus needles, safety eyes and a row counter. I love the colours and they feel lovely so I am really looking forward to making something pretty for myself. I live in Australia and picked cotton or cotton/acrylic yarns so that I have more chance of using whatever I make for a little longer than the warmer yarns 👍 Your projects all look lovely and inspired my little splurge, I think I am going to enjoy it all!
Welcome down the hobbii rabbithole 😂 I discovered hobbii about 3 years ago and my yarn hauls have only increased in size and frequency 😅 My favourite yarn at the moment is Tweed Delight (85% wool) and Diablo (a mohair mix). Sooo many gorgeous colours to choose from…
I received my first order from Hobbii this week. I had seen review on Bag O day. I was so excited my yard was sale Christmas yarns and a few others... All good and some really special. My first online order for anything I will order more. This review was how I felt about my yarn. Also the costs were really good no shipping free gift and money off sale items better than expected. Seeing the items you made so far I have subscribed looking forward to see what other things you made 🙂 sue
You've bought some lovely yarn 😍😍😍 I'm Danish. And Mayflower is an old Danish brand. Equally Järbo is an old Swedish brand. Very respected. So don't worry, they'll not run out of yarn 😉 As Denmark use the metric system (as most of the world) if the hook size just say 3 or 4 on the label you can be sure it's mm. I guess, Hobbii just haven't reprinted all the labels yet, after going international 😊 And 'hør' is linnenn so your delicious looking black yarn (I may have to check that 😁) looked to be a cotton/linnen blend. Fabulous poncho btw. Loved the colours of the yarn 😍 Enjoy your yarn. Now I'll have to go and check their website (again 😉) Thank you for the video 😘
I love Hobbii yarns been using them for years .Everything you are making are beautiful .When they call the cotton 8/4 or 8/8 is the ply or weight of the yarn so 8/4 is 4 ply and 8/8 is 8 ply
I love Hobbii! They have a great selection, great prices and fast delivery. I generally get my orders here in Maryland in 7-10 days. (Which is faster than most suppliers here in the states.)
Hi thanks for your wonderful information about the beautiful yarn 🧶 I have made a wonderful shawl of the cotton twirls cakes. Your poncho is very beautiful 👍💖 where can i learning that’s from? Do you think I can find it on TH-cam? I’m from Iceland. Stay safe and have a great time with your beautiful yarns 🧶🧶🤩💞
Thanks for your comment! I love your idea and think it would turn out great. I ended up making a drawstring pouch with the "Cookie crumbs" that I used as gift wrapping for a Christmas gift and it turned out lovely. :)
Good job on your haul; I could sense your excitement in your voice. You mentioned about hand injury. Do you know if continental method results in less injuries than English method?
@@carriedemarest5206 You are welcome! It's a great bag - I love the pattern. You can make the bag by watching her videos alone, but I do recommend paying the $1.99 to buy her pattern so that you will have an easy chart to follow...especially if this is your first time working tapestry crochet. The time and effort you save by this will be worth the $1.99!
Karol - One shawl is the "Rivulet Shawl" found on Fiber Spider's TH-cam channel, and the other is just a basic granny shawl (I think that Annoo has one that is very similar called "Easy Crochet Boho Shawl/Vest Tutorial" on her channel) .
Hi the second shawl there do you think you will just need 1 yarn cake for the whole shawl and If so what weight is the yarn cake please ??... Beautiful colours there I must order that second cake I love it and thanks
Hi, I absolutely love the shawl you made using the Jungle shade of the twister yarn - I'm really new to making shawls and it looks like it's a good repeating pattern. Could you tell me the name of the pattern? I would love to try it!
Love the shawl your making from Fiber spider. Could you give me the correct spelling of it please and thank you and the name of the first you showed and where to find the pattern.
the 8/4 is the small yarn, and a needle size 2.5 - 3 will be the most perfect size, and the 8/8 i a more thick yarn, and you will normal use a needle 4, in denmak can we very fast fine the cotten yarn we look after, only be looking after that :) i hobe it can help a little about what its mean, and can also say the 8/4 have 4 thread and the 8/8 have 8 thread
Thanks, pvg123. The 8/2 that I have is smaller than the 8/4 that I have. Both from Hobbii. I read somewhere that 8/2 is 2 ply where 8/4 is 4 ply...and this is what matches what I have. I guess I just have to buy more yarn to be certain! Woe is me...having to buy more yarn - for science! LOL
Hi there, I don't recall using a pattern. I think I just made a basic granny stitch triangle. I was watching a lot of Fiber Spider and Bag O' Day Crochet on TH-cam are the time and believed I combined a few ideas to make this simple shawl. Sorry I can't be more specific!
The yarn does not come with patterns. I found the patterns on TH-cam and I believe that I mention their names in the video. For the shawl, I used less than one cake. These cakes are HUGE!
Love your vid and your work Ethora. Kraftygale Hobbii - have loads of free patterns available to download. Also users upload their projects to the site so you can see the yarn and project ideas together.
I bought some cookie yarn last year as I thought it really pretty. I absolutely hated the feel of it when I crocheted it up. It felt horribly plastic to me. Same with the Universe. I tried knitting with it and it was awful. I ended up returning them for a refund. I’m a great fan of the rainbow 8/4 cotton as it’s so soft and a great price. I also love the rainbow bamboo. It feels so luxurious and amazingly soft.
I like the Cookie, but then I am expecting an acrylic feel from it. I like it more than other acrylics. How awesome that Hobbii let you return it after you tried it - great to know! Yes, I love the Rainbow too. Thanks for sharing.
I have not made dishcloths with the Rainbow yarn, but I imagine that it would be a great use for this yarn as it is 100% cotton. I'm actually planning to make some hand towels with it, in fact.
@@lydiadelay5960 I don't know, I have not tried washing this yarn yet, but my guess is that it will behave like your standard cotton. I washed the comparable Cotton Kings 8/4 cotton yarn from Hobbii, and it washed perfectly (though I laid it flat to dry instead of putting in the dryer because it is a top and I did not want it to shrink).
LOL Yeah, I know the feeling! I took a few months off from ordering, but just placed another order last week. Maybe I'll make another unboxing video because I ordered some yarn I have not ordered before. At least yarn is pretty to look at when it sits on the shelf. :)
Hi, this is probably a long shot and probably a dumb question😫.. My friend really wants me to make a baby blanket with this type and brand of yarn. He really likes the colors that are available. Will it be possible? And should I get two skeins of yarn? Thank you!
Hi, I just checked Hobbii's website to see if they still sell Twister yarn, and they do. I would use at least two cakes of this yarn for a blanket. Really depends on how large you want the blanket to be and which stitch you use. If you go to Ravelry (ravelry.com) then you can find this yarn and see the projects that people have made with it. I'll bet you will find plenty of blankets, and when you see one that you like then you can often see how many cakes were used to make it. Good luck and have fun!
8/4 is like a 4ply yarn and 8/8 is equivalent to Double Knitting (DK) yarn in British terms. I’m using the twirls at the minute with 3mm hook to make a summer top, loving it.
Thank you. In the USA, we would call an 8/8 "worsted weight", and 8/4 "DK". At least according to my research and what I see int he stores here in CA. I wish that there was an international standard for this and the crochet terms (for instance, you probably call my "double crochet" a "treble crochet" - and your way makes sense as you have 3 loops on your hook. I don't know why we call it double crochet in the USA. "Half double crochet" is an awkward concept. Anyway...I'm rambling.).
I've seen Hobbii.com yarns advertized on Facebook and I checked out their online shop. I live in Canada and I'm a tad skeptical about the fact that they are all the way in Denmark. Tried finding reviews online but nowadays these can be faked and it's hard to trust what is posted in reviews. I would like to try it out but their prices seem too good to be true.
I live in the USA, and have purchased from Hobbii 4 times so far. I've only been happy with them. One time I ordered from Joanne's in the USA and Hobbii on the same day and my Hobbii package arrived first! By the way, I always use PayPal when ordering online because if it ends up being a scam then it is really easy to get my money back via PayPal. Hobbii accepts PayPal. Not sure I would have ordered had they not (so I'm glad they do).

Thanks, this is what I ended up assuming and it all worked out. Yay for the metric system!
I'd make a pair of wrist warmers with the "cookie crumb" 😊
Thanks for your comment! I love your idea and think it would turn out great. I ended up making a drawstring pouch with the "Cookie crumbs" that I used as gift wrapping for a Christmas gift and it turned out lovely. :)
Good job on your haul; I could sense your excitement in your voice. You mentioned about hand injury. Do you know if continental method results in less injuries than English method?
You could make a beanie or headband/ear warmer to match your poncho.
Theirs a pattern on ravelry called the mother of Dragon and it's a free bag pattern that uses small yardage
Thank you, Km!
@@TodayImMaking you're welcome
thank you they are beautiful x
Thank you! :)
I LOVE Hobbii yarns!
Me too! It's just crazy addictive, though...
Thank you for sharing Ellen
You're welcome! :)
Will You be doing a tutorial video on your tapestry bag you are making?
This gorgeous bag is already a video tutorial (that I followed) here - th-cam.com/video/or507P4oyyI/w-d-xo.html
@@TodayImMaking Thank You very much! 💝😊
Oh wow 😮 those such extremely gorgeous colors OMG 😲 My name is Trish by the way “
Yes and than you for sharing your video “
Do you have patterns for your shawls please.
Pretty cakes. Nice fo s n wips
Thanks so much for the review.
Rivulet (I probably did not pronounce it correctly), here is the link - th-cam.com/video/RMAW0MgbJXI/w-d-xo.html
the 8/4 is the small yarn, and a needle size 2.5 - 3 will be the most perfect size, and the 8/8 i a more thick yarn, and you will normal use a needle 4, in denmak can we very fast fine the cotten yarn we look after, only be looking after that :) i hobe it can help a little about what its mean, and can also say the 8/4 have 4 thread and the 8/8 have 8 thread
LOL
Is there enough Cookie left to make a hat or fingerless gloves?
Yes crystal is soo bad for my bank account..hahahahaa.. absolutely love her and trust her opinions on yarn..
What a beautiful effect does that Jungle Twister have in combination with this pattern! Can you please reveal the name of the pattern?
Hi there, I don't recall using a pattern. I think I just made a basic granny stitch triangle. I was watching a lot of Fiber Spider and Bag O' Day Crochet on TH-cam are the time and believed I combined a few ideas to make this simple shawl. Sorry I can't be more specific!
Did you make a headband or ear warmer with the leftovers?
Love your work
Thank you! :)
Im a weaver....perhaps a potholder, or mat, with your cookie crumb?
Thanks for the ideas! I eventually made a few tiny projects with it, mostly small gift bags to wrap Christmas gifts. :)
Yes and than you for sharing your video “ Ethora
Can someone please tell me the name of that first shawl or where to find the pattern thank you
Do the patterns come with The yarn.? How many cakes make a Shawl? Colors are gorgeous.
Jungle shawl is awesome
Thank you! I'm enjoying it...and I've never been one to wear shawls!
Are you the rainbow cotton yarn. good for dish clothes?
I have not made dishcloths with the Rainbow yarn, but I imagine that it would be a great use for this yarn as it is 100% cotton. I'm actually planning to make some hand towels with it, in fact.
And if the customer washes them it won’t umm ruined them?
@@lydiadelay5960 I don't know, I have not tried washing this yarn yet, but my guess is that it will behave like your standard cotton. I washed the comparable Cotton Kings 8/4 cotton yarn from Hobbii, and it washed perfectly (though I laid it flat to dry instead of putting in the dryer because it is a top and I did not want it to shrink).
How skeins of the twister did you use for you Shaw you made ?
I used one cake/skein.
(Unfortunately) I order from them a lot! I'll be taking a break from ordering to spend time crocheting. Then - - - LOL
LOL Yeah, I know the feeling! I took a few months off from ordering, but just placed another order last week. Maybe I'll make another unboxing video because I ordered some yarn I have not ordered before. At least yarn is pretty to look at when it sits on the shelf. :)
Can you tell me how to get pattern for poncho.
@@TodayImMaking, thank you soooo much!!! I appreciate it!!!
Thanks - really useful video. I think I may be ordering some yarn!
I'm glad I was able to make a useful video! I now have two Hobbii orders on the way...I think I'm addicted. I just love the colors!
Anyway...I'm rambling.).
ethora thanks for clearing that up ethers I was a bit confused.
ethora I meant to add Canada the same 8/4 would be dk
Make a beanie, scarf or headband to match your poncho.
I think there might be enough yarn for a headband. That's a good idea, thanks! :)
8/4 is a DK. 8/8 is a 4 or Aran
Thank you! I think I should do a video on this and compare them side to side. I feel so foolish being so slow to learn this! :)
8/4 is 4ply & 8/8 is a DK/light 4 worsted, in British terms.
Never had a problem with Hobbii. Always use PayPal.
