The 350's have better mileage than the 501's too. I do 75+ mph on the highway just fine on my 2017 FE350. You HAVE to balance both front and rear AND not have too much pressure in the tires... TRUST ME!

Just picked up a used 2021 FE350. Just got done swapping the S harness into it and dualsporting it. Pending le DMV giving me a MC title.
Previous owner swapped the top end like a race bike at 75Hrs. It came in the sale. Keeping it as a spare since it is absolutely spotless. These engines running detuned last WAAAAAY longer than their race brothers.

Billet triple clamps, better wheels, linkage rear suspension, and protaper bars, all for only $100 more than the KTM, well worth it.

How would you rank this bike for a newer rider (rode dirtbikes growing up a bit)? Majority would be easier trail riding/ hunting with the occasional highway ride to different hunting spots.

How about the maintenance in the street version?
Are the intervals service the same as the 100% dirt version?

Main problem with the composite subframe is that if you break it, good luck finding a replacement right now!

i got the 501s. tires suck on trail other than that great bike. does need an endcap or exhaust and ecu though if your doing some single track.

I just picked up a 23 FE350S, and its a blast to ride, even though I'm pretty new to dual sports. The one real major issue for me is how HOT the bike runs, but I guess with all the EPA junk on them, they run super lean.

Have you found a solution for the heat via aftermarket parts?

@@ogregang3203 I did. I installed a Vortex ecu and FMF slip on, not only does it perform completely different, but the bike runs very cool.

Save your time and money and buy a 501 or 500 exc. They are both nimble actually the 500 or 501 is better in the tight and knarly. The reason why is that you can lug it more and there's much more torque off idle. Put a rekluse on it and it's a weapon not to be messed with. I have a 350 FX and love it but if your hitting streets the 350 is very uncomfortable for along period of time over 60mph. It has a lot of vibration. The 501 or 500 does not vibrate like this and handles the streets 100 times better. I love my bike and won't sell it but the 500 and 501 blow the 350 out of the water in dual Sport criteria and they only weigh 1 pound more.
