going up tomorrow. this will be my 8th year up there and my fathers 42nd. it’s our most favorite place in the world. the devastation from the fires was crazy, but it’s still my happy place. so quiet, so peaceful, isolated from the rest of the world. our kind of place, me and my father.
Rented the Forest Service cabin in July 23. Very little green. They saved the trees there and around the store. Across the main road from the cabin everything is dead. A few small spots across the lake from the store are green and unburned. The peninsula campground is burned and the loop is blocked by down trees on the west side. So sad. Heard the unburned places were saved by Indian fire crews. Thanks warm springs natives!
