Quick Spin Transition (No Plugins Required!) | Final Cut Pro X Tutorial

  • In this tutorial, I'll be taking you for a spin.
Step-by-step I’ll show you how to create a quick spin transition using the latest version of final cut pro x (10.4) without needing to buy or download any plugins.
A “quick spin transition” between two images is an exciting way to move from one scene to the next. For me, it can suggest the passage of time - as the viewer (the camera) travels to a new place. For others, the transitions can evoke a long-playing record on a turntable starting up and then coming to a stop.
    Definitely, try it out!
Also...thank you so much for watching :)

So much detail for something that's not even a second long.

Your tutorials are really good! I like how you try to explain how to do things, also by using keyboard shortcuts. Just one shortcut I missed here. Go to the start and end of the clip with arrow up/down.

I had the same thought. I'm wondering if you could apply the FX and keyframing she suggested to an adjustment layer (Alex 4d has a free one). Perhaps using one with the 50% scaling, and another one on top with the remaining FX. If I try it out I'll let you know how it works.
It may also be worth it to just buy a plug in that can do it if it's something you'll use often.

Wow... I cant believe it costs $499 for editing software & then it takes 4 minutes to insert a one second transition. That seems like a really bad deal. You've done an excellent tutorial. I'm just disappointed to learn how complex it is.
