Love the outdoor cooking with little of nothing. Are lights went out due to an ice stormonce and I am all electric I could not think of any way to fix something for my family to eat that would be hot and I finally got this idea and I put this grate on top of two candle and when I lit those candles they heated up the pan of soup I put on top of it and it worked out great.
RESOURCEFULNESS! KUDOS TO YOU. With power outages in mind, I keep a butane 'tabletop' restaurant stove and a couple of cans of fuel at home. I used to take them car camping as well, since they are compact and they are ready when I am.
Great job! But do you and your family a favor and invest in a Coleman dual fuel stove. You can cook a full meal on it. I’ve done it many times.
@@thegaper1090 The Classic Peak 1 Coleman backpacking stove was not the lightest but is was super reliable and it served our family very well, even in a fixed camp as an extra burner. You do offer a fine suggestion in terms of a more modern Coleman for campers to consider.

There's nothing like the sound of rain on the outside of a tent, mostly cause it means your dry inside :)

I really like that trekology sleep pad, I've got the pillow as well, it straps on unlike other inflatables. Very good value and comfortable.

I fell inlove with the deep forest camping, solo camping in a well-built shelter, cooking some foods over the camp fire/bushcrafting cooking/hot stone cooking, making some improvised utensils and be with nature...

It's a nice spot to camp, even in the rain, which I don't mind. Love how it sounds on a tent at night. The meatballs & pasta sure looked good. The view from your tent was wonderful. Gorgeous photos! I especially love the cattails.

Lovely camp spot
As with many of your viewers, I like videos of camping that demonstrate simple shelter under adverse conditions. I LIKE the way you demonstrate two types of lightweight cooking equipment and show three ways of setting things up: on the grass, on a 'found' rock block and on a folding leg tray. The way you do satisfying 'small meals' is a 'reality check' about what eating in the wild can offer. THANKS.

I loved this video. I’ve always liked camping in “not so perfect conditions”. It’s a challenge and it just feels great doing it. Nothing like sleeping in a tent while it rains. Pure heaven.

Andy thank you for another heart warming trip you have shared with us. That scary popping egg made me laugh, as we see you lugging and chopping great chunks of fire wood it was also nice to see the little trangia stove in use. Good tips re the fuel not to add water.

One good thing about camping in the rain, cooking a meal and listening to the rain hitting the tent , that's a nice quiet place for camping always great to watch your videos Andy see you on the next one.

Trangia mini, the go to cooker for the now defunct Karrimor Internatoinal Mountain Marathon. I still have mine after 23 years and it still works a treat....
You should need a drone camera to show us how beauty the wilderness is and how lake is wide and it can help you locate your destination and sefetiness. Drone can be a great guide for campers like you.

Good to see you out and about. I use my Trangia and fancy feest stoves a lot, Americans don't burn meths in alcohol stoves though. They use carburetor cleaner called Heet. It burns hot and very clean, cleaner than meths acutually. I hate to tell you, but that lake is really a pond. Lol.
