For everyone who is watching this and find it amazing, it is 100 times more breathtaking live. In a world with 10 second videos and full of people with extremely short attention spans, Nils Frahm manages to capture you completely with his music for 2 hours straight thinking it's only been 10 minutes. It always leaves you sad that it's over but so happy that you were part of it. Please, if you ever have the chance, go see him live. I guarantee you will not regret it. Truly one of the most unique artists alive.
I remember 11.45 hitting like melancholy infused molly into my stomach. It's as if he bypasses the ears and aims directly for the nerves. In terms of live-performances he exceeds the best I've seen by many miles. Never before or again I've witnessed such a demonic display of tenderness.
For those unaware, the reason he wets his hands is because of the instrument he's playing: a glass harmonica. It's the same as using a wet finger on a wine glass but with different tones.
Tears in my eyes. First. From his incredible talent that only offered itself to me when hearing him live in LA earlier this year. Second. It was my 7 year old daughters first concert. She had literally tears in her eyes months later telling me what a special time it was with daddy. I should have and could have recorded it. I inquired with his publicist about any recordings from the show to no avail. I’m literally weeping as I watch this. Thank you so much for sharing it! ❤
From what I understand, he's keen on getting people to his shows to experience his work in person; as per your testament - that's how his art is best experienced. So I assume he's not keen on live albums. However, Tripping with Nils came out about 4 years after All Melody, I hope we can expect the same of his live reworks of his current tracks.
@@georgewaller7080 I recently asked him in person if we will get a new live album in the near future. And happily he answered my question with a "Yes". He told me that many of the concerts are recorded for the production.
Alsof er een nieuwe morgen aanbreekt en de eerste zonnestralen je verwelkomen.. wat een prachtige opening. Bedankt voor het uploaden! Het was een fantastische ervaring gisteren!
Completely. I've been listening to Nils for years and my GF bought me tickets as a surprise. I didn't quite love Music For Animals and was unsure what to expect. He arrived, we sat and then we were transported into his world and it was blissful and sad and epiphanic all at once
@@Jean-BoucSeguin-cn5yi I believe it's a variation on Fundamental Values. Listen to the version on Tripping with Nils Frahm here: watch?v=nMSrtKS4TDw; jump in around 4-5min.
Bedankt! Vanaf 20.30h tot einde, is dat een 'bass'-loop die hij vaker gebruikt? Of heeft dit stuk nog een andere naam? Ik was erbij en het stuk zit al weken in m'n hoofd..
From begining to 13:30 the song name is harmonuim in the well but the other part is unknown to me. He played exactly the same order at @zorlu İstanbul. But idk the song name. Any idea?

1000% agreeable
Yes, I feel the same. ❤
Just saw this show yesterday. Breathtaking!!!
Agree I’ve been going to his concerts regularly for 7 years. Never disappointed.
The guys a prophet and one of the greatest of this time....❤
Easily the most impact, lasting concert I have ever been a part of. He is a musician, magician, improvatuer... a gift like no other
Yes, me too yesterday in milan 🙏🏼

What an absolute genius! Those old analog instruments have something magical.

Thx for the explanation- was only worried for a second 😂
What a sound this glass harmonica… wow.
saw him live in istabbul this man can speak to the soul
absolutely genius, must see live
De neoklassieke meester van de 21e eeuw. Voor mij was dit het mooiste concert waar ik ooit ben geweest.

Maybe this is now one of your daughter's "core memories" :)

@@Exeljion That's amazing to hear. I wish I one day get the privilege to talk with him.
Good dad
I was there at funkhaus Berlin. Unique experience, a feat of excellence
i think the pieces with the '52 german subharchord were played just there. the sound of that just wow
Me to, amazing! 🙏 Have you seen any video recordings from Funkhaus okt 2023?
So happy you caught this magic moment.
Nils did it again. ❤
absolutely gorgeous
speechless....Masterpiece!!!!

Probably my favorite and most unexpected part of the show. Nils is a magician. Thank you for uploading this !

Spells in live IS soooooooo big
I saw this show in Montreal. It was changing. For 2 hours I didn't move.
One of the few artist that can completely capture me with his music for 2 hours straight. Truly a genius of our generation.
@@detinu I know! It's rare to find art that is so captivating. You should check out Ólafur Arnalds Cercle performance if you like this!
Thank you, that was an incredible opening piece, so happy to experience it again🙏
thanks for uploading this magic
I've seen this live and the part beginning at about 9:55 is overwhelmingly beautiful. And so is the entire concert.
It s only on live right ? I can't find this melody on his studios songs :(
I think so, but maybe there will be a professionally recorded liveset in the near future. @@Mrfofifonfec2
same, it's so beautiful, been looking for it ever since his concert in Lyon this fall...
beautiful
Divine 🌟✨🌟
thank you for posting this! cheers
I love the transition starting 17:50 - 18:50, Gaensehaut!
is it another song though?? i can't find it by itself, what's the name of it? hope you know

@@Jean-BoucSeguin-cn5yi It's a variation on Fundamental Values from the album Tripping with Nils Frahm (listen in at about the four minute mark).
Absolutely amazing sounds ❤ Wish I could be there!!
he was in Athens 3 Days ago and it was truly AMAZING! Such an Amazing Artist!!!
Cool.
Do you know what is the music at 21:33 ?
absolutely stunning! I was at Vega CPH on 21st April 24 and had goosebumps... Does anyone know the track name from 21 minute?
Does anyone know what instrument or sound it is that he starts playing at around 11:45 ? It‘s so epic and deep
Pretty sure that's Juno 60 into a Roland Chorus Echo. You should be able to achieve it with any modern Polysynth or even a Mono.
Look for ‘Ode - Our own roof’ on the ‘Tripping with Nils Frahms’ live album

to me this sequence is new. dum dip dup dip (for lack of better words) is different than from what I heard before.

I think there is a bit of "human range" but he has changed it
that main plucky synth starting around 13:30 sounds like lemon day to me, it's quite different from the album version though!
oh nevermind it's right right right, not lemon day!
Thank you for sharing this video. Anyone know why he uses gloves....??

What is the amazing song at 13:30 ?
lilly7490 thinks it is Right Right Right, th-cam.com/video/bkdhOnaGA6M/w-d-xo.html and I think she might be right.
When was the concert?

I had a chance to see him live in March… wow I’m incredibly upset I missed that chance. What an incredible performance
this music is the sounds of fading modern european civilization facing the inevitable end. Very unsexual, decadent, but honest and beautiful
Interesting thought, I personally find 'Grinding Halt' by The Cure fitting as well.
The constant ad breaks in this clip ruins it for me. Every 5-6 minutes the mood gets ripped away. Fuck this!
Forbid/deny entrance to coughing people...
Nils could name the song "deny entrance to coughing people" wasn't there a piece he wrote that had something like that in the title?
