Another thing I liked about this game was that people's arms took damage too when blocking really hard shots, especially kicks. Fighters like Overeem (if I remember right) used to like to blast kicks into people's guards till they just couldn't take them anymore. I know it's a tactic Canelo likes to use in boxing, too. He will just brutalize people's arms till they think twice about tightening their guard.
The Coleman fights just shows again that this is the best ufc game. Coleman was super aggressive in the first round. Took a bunch of damage in the second. The A.I saw this and Coleman fought way more cautious. Incredible.

The grappling system EA developed is pretty horrendous. I’ve gotten a handle on it at this point but it still isn’t fun, intuitive, or a good representation grappling.
Would never happen, it would be competition for EA's UFC game and THQ doesn't exist anymore as a company. And even if by some miracle those two obstacles got cleared, they would most likely fuck it up and make a terrible remake with today's gaming standards.
Literally just ordered ufc undisputed 3 bc I never played this. Became a huge mma fan during the pandemic and have gone back and watched basically all the pride fights and wished there was a pride game, had no idea these existed

Martial I have an even better career mode idea for you, it'll be all the more exciting if you've never Heard of it or played it. Look up Def jam fight for new York it's one of the best fighting games I've ever played it has all types of rap icons in it as fighters and it incorporates fighting styles in it such as kickboxing, wrestling, submissions, martial arts and street fighting. It has a fully fledged career mode too where you create your own character and fight for dominance in the underground fighting scene. Hopefully you see this and consider it for a play through it would be amazing to see your reactions to the game.

I'll give EA the props on the head movement and the MoCap but I mean if THQ was dropping one game every three four years, by the time we got to this era the game would have been fucking insane.

It can be hard to find a copy of this game in working condition, I got one recently for the Xbox 360 and it's mostly there but certain things like learning moves in career just don't work for me.
this type of videos are very good, it will be very cool to do mcgregor run to the title or khabib run to the title and all of this, playing the game of the moment they fought, like mcgregor vs alvarez in ufc 3, and using their style of fighting
Mark Coleman actually had a win over Shogun via injury in Pride. I think Shoguns arm broke..he rematched Coleman in the UFC few years later and beat the breaks off of him lol. A Mark Coleman 2000 Pride Grand Prix video would be cool... But I doubt any of the opponents are in the game.

Flick the right analogue in direction you want to deny/pull it down to maintain dominance. If you watch closely top positios like halfguard, if you hold it downwards your legs pin theirs denying them to transition yourself it's semi circle for minor transitions, half circle for full mount/full circle for north south.
@@leavemealone4009 and, everything counts, stamina, fighter stats, timing, some fighters have different transitions and sweeps, reverses and things like that. L1 its for special, like rubber guard, different positions. Nogueira has a chain submission, that allow him to change positions, if he is on his back he can use it to reverse. You pull guard, bring the guy on top of you, chain submission and you get on top, sounds op and really is.
Butterfly guard from the bottom provides either extra distance from you opponent on the ground and also helps with transitions on the ground and to the feet. Downsides are it does nothing to prevent the opponent from posturing up for ground and pound.
I still don’t get how they messed up the ufc games after this one. They gave you with undisputed the perfect example of how an MMA game should be. I just hate EA

Shoguns leg kick animations here are so much more real that the EA UFC games.
I wish there was a Undisputed 4, they were on the right track, i playtested 3 toward the back half, great experience with them.

You should do this for any/all retired fighters pride and UFC and you choose whether its in Undisputed 3 or UFC 4!
I found a copy of undisputed 3 in a thrift store a couple years back. Unfortunately the disk drive on my PS3 died years ago, so I'll have to emulate.
