I'm also disappointed that you can't put a Twister in a pipe to emulate the underwater pipes from SMB3

As the person making that level with Twister on an underwater pipe, I agree.
You can by using vertical scroll stop and putting the twister underneath the pipe but I agree I think you should be able to put it in pipes
I'm disappointed that there's not solid block type object that can block the stream of air

The Twister left me extremely dissapointed, I wish it had properties like allowing them to get grabbed by Cranes or blowing wind out of pipes.
Also, on another note, what the heck happened to the Twister variant shown in that one Nintendo direct? Did it get cut or was it a beta?
I think the ice cream swirl was just an early sprite for it. I prefer the one that made it into the game - even if the item itself is a little lackluster.
@@TobiasBergdorf I kinda liked the Super Mario World style version of it more, but in "3D" it just looks off...
I really wanted to be able to have wind blowing from pipes. Was hoping to make some neat set piece moments under water where the player would be thrown around to varying locations if they fell off the higher platforms. It was the first thing I was hoping I'd be able to do when I got the game. Very disappointing.

I like how the meta with these videos has traveled _so_ far. Even though these videos would seem purely informative if you viewed them superficially, you know deep down that there was a reason why you went down the list of everything a twister CANNOT do.
It always makes my day to see these videos. This is my favorite series on TH-cam by far, and upon seeing a new episode uploaded I feel the urge to jump for joy. Never stop these; the effort you put in is insane but I can assure you it does not go unnoticed.

I like twister magnet suction sections using the Link costume. It pretty much disables his arrows, but there's other cool things to do whilst empowered by the master sword. I made a kaizo-dungeon with them.

The Twister having a downward hit box could make very creative, and good levels that rely on Twisters in a fun and innovative way.

The twister pulling things from below actually makes sense though, if you know how air currents work
I think people would be use the twister more if it had more interactions or something. Like being able to attach to walls and ceilings as well as everything you listed it cannot do

It kinda feels the twister was rushed. With more time in the oven it could've been a powerhouse of an item, but now it's just a bit of an underdog.
Oh well, Nintendo had they're priorities straight with On/Off Blocks, so I can't complain too much.
This is a great guide Tobias, just like all the rest! Although, I gotta be honest, I don't like this course part at all; that being said, these are some great ideas that I wouldn't have come up with here.

This is a godsend, I was gonna make a Twister level as part of my Super World

(Edit) you can also use twisters in the desert theme as a sand dune or the smb3 tornado from the quicksand level
At 5:30 you say an underwater Twister’s airstream will not extend above the surface of water. But an underwater airstream’s hitbox _truncated_ or is it _squashed_ ? That is, does the hitbox reach its normal max width when it is only just below the surface of the water? The airstream graphics at 5:25 seem to suggest squashing, but I’m wondering whether the hitbox matches the graphics in this case.

Fun Fact: if you stack multiple twisters together for example Wii u Mario bros it makes a Full tornado
