I always love getting to this portion of the story when watching the series and shortly after the battle with Shishio concludes in Season 2. Bringing to light the dark events and pasts of religion. Both in the shows story and in reality as well. How some can worship and put its teaching to good use, like what we saw with Shogo's sister Lady Magdalia. As well as the more warped and twisted side the facts and past of religion and just how much it can alter and corrupt one's original or kind nature/intentions. The interactions between Sanosuke and Shōzo were interesting as we saw how their viewpoints continued to clash with one another, yet ultimately even with how events played out, you can see both of them gained a mutual respect or understand for one another. Showing how even the most devoted or single-minded individual can look into another person's mindset and reason with them, try to understand their perspective one things even if their viewpoint never changes in said altercations. Much like how I do with any anime, I'll watch through any of the filler at least once just to see what my opinion on said story may be. Unblinded or undisturbed by what the critical or overwhelming opinion of said arc may be. I'm most certainly glad I went through this portion of the story to finish the series off. The scene that plays out during my initial comment on this video still gives me goosebumps each time I watch it. Especially so if I've spent the time watching through the entirety of the arc, only making it even more impactful in my eyes. .....You were lost and ultimately manipulated from your original goals, Shogo. But now you will be given a second chance to atone and bring forth said ambition you once originally had and were taught as a child.

Underrated Arc
