I'm sure that when Playboy Penthouse premiered, a million kids were hustled off to bed before that elevator reached the top floor.

Great group of openings! Some of these syndies like Sea Hunt, Highway Patrol, and Manhunt were still running on KDAL-TV in Duluth well into the mid-60's.

The Playboy intro . . . has aged comparatively well. Props.

4:56- "FEDERAL MEN" was the syndicated title for the final season (1954-'55) of "TREASURY MEN IN ACTION" {previously a live series on NBC from 1950 through '54, 39 episodes were filmed during its last season, on ABC}.

ZIV was apparently a big player in syndicated TV back in those days. BTW, except for ABBOTT AND COSTELLO, SUPERMAN, and SEA HUNT (all of which were still being shown in the 70s), hadn't heard of (much less seen) any of these

"PLAYBOY'S PENTHOUSE" was originally syndicated in 1959. A decade later, Hefner appeared in a color version,"PLAYBOY AFTER DARK". "BOLD VENTURE" (1959-'60) was based on the syndicated radio series originally starring Humphrey Bogart & Lauren Bacall. "THE MAN CALLED 'X'" was also adapted from the radio show starring Herbert Marshall.

I have a sneaking suspicion that "Duffy" of his namesake dive might have met a fate similar to Jimmy Hoffa. 😳
