Graduated from the a6300 to the a6600, the battery, overheating issue resolved, better skin tones, IBIS (people complain about this for video but it's intended for stills where it makes a big difference) amazing autofocus and HLG make it totally worth the upgrade. Use it paired with the 16mm and 56mm Sigma mostly. A lot of reviews call APC's "great B cameras" but I've been using them as my A cameras professionally for years.
Super appreciate you sharing your journey. I have ZERO problems with an APS-C sensor being an A cam. Even when I my cinema cameras: th-cam.com/video/Knqufkb35kY/w-d-xo.html I'm technically using a Super 35 so it's essentially the same size. The a6600 is an absolute beast. Congrats on the upgrade!
Dude, I used to watch your show all the time, always wondered what you were up to after Friends. Glad to see you still enjoy being in front of the camera. 😂
Thanks for the review. I have been shooting with the A6000 for years and love the camera. It has such a compact shape that is smooth across all sides unlike the fuji and other cameras with extra dials/view finder across the top. I constantly used the tiny built in flash and also shot a good number of panoramas. Now, after all these years, the brand new Sony A6600 has eliminated the internal flash and in camera panorama. Ridiculous. I cannot fathom why the newest and supposedly best camera, also the most expensive one of this series, eliminated the A6000 very useful features of panorama and in camera flash.
Most professionals don't use on camera flash. High end cameras do not have flash built in. If you're a serious strobist you probably never pop up the unit. It's not strange it's just not something you're familiar with
Thanks for the insight. I'm quite familiar as I never use on camera flash. As I mentioned in the video it's a small and portable camera and it would have been nice to have a built in flash for fill or during certain mid-light situations. None of my actual professional bodies have a built-in flash which is expected.
As usual a wonderful video. Amazing detail. Usually I won't need to watch another one after watching yours because you literally cover everything! The perfect buyer's guide in my book! Keep it up!
Amazing content brotha! Keep up the grind! I started watching your videos back when you first began. You’ve come a long way! I always knew you’d blow up! When I buy my first camera I’ll know what to get because of this channel
Thanks for such a thorough review of the A6600. It would be a major expenditure for me and not one that I could afford to correct later. You answered all my questions and more. Your presenting style was easy to watch too. Have subscribed for the future.
Hello my friend! I do really like your channel, it helps me a lot. Well, I need your suggestion before I make a big investment. It is 2021, one year later than u made this video. I am a travel vlogger and I use almost all the time my gopro as a main camera. But, but, but! In low light or night time, the gopro sucks! So this is the reason why I do ask your advise for Would you recommend the a6600 in 2021? Is there some better video camera than this one for low light now on the same price range? Thank you very much in advance
Great review, thanks for making it! It shouted in surprise when seeing the length but am happy to have watched the entire video. A quick question: Since the A6600 supports external 4:2:2 recording, does the smaller brethren A6400 too, or is it a new feature?
Hi and thank you - I had a lot to say 😂🤣 Yes, they it will do 8 bit 4:2:2 externally. I hope that helps. I also did a comparison of the three model (+a6100) if you want to see more: th-cam.com/video/TrAe8XaYwwY/w-d-xo.html Welcome to the channel!
I've just watched both your videos on A6600 and A6400 and I still can't 100% decide which one I want for my set up. And that's not the result of your videos, they're amazing and love the detail here. Your summary at the end suggesting more video go with 6600, does make sense, I just don't think the feature step up justifies the price increase. Also... the lack of USB C is really bugging me... why??? I'd love to be able to record straight to a USB C drive or just use the same charger as everything else these days.
Hi Tom - thank you for watching and for the kind words. Unless I absolutely needed the IBIS (which personally I don't) and the video eye af (which is actually really nice to have) I would go with the a6400. I'd rather spend the rest of the money on lenses. If I want truly stable footage, than I'm using a gimbal regardless of which camera I have. To record externally, you would need an external recorder like an Atomos Ninja V and use the HDMI out (this would be true even if they used USB-C - BUT STILL, USE USB-C!!!) Appreciate having you as part of the community 🙏
THIS is the kind of video I was looking for! Awesome details and all questions answered. Exactly what I need to know when trying to decide wether I want to buy this camera. Thank you so much!
love your reviews as these are more into longer more detail presentation. Just want to ask how's your experience with canon lenses being adapted to sony? I am thinking of adding a sony camera to my gear (all my cameras are canons) because of the dynamic range and video capabilities. Do you think I'll be fine if all my lenses are from canon?
Excellent review ! I think you are the only reviewer I have seen actually showing the connection of the camera to the smartphone, smthg that every potential buye WILL do at some point. So thank you for this. I love your reviews and your real “user” centric approach. Quick little remark: when there are lots of figures and/or a long list of camera specs, written callouts on screen would be helpful :-)
Hi, your videos are so great. Will the kit lens that comes with the a6600 be appropriate for filming yoga/fitness videos indoors from about 10' away? Between the a7iii and a6600 I I'm leaning towards the a6600 for these videos.
Great video as always! Question, I’m a beginner and I would like to know which lenses do you recommend for the Sony 6600 that will get a similar angle field of a full frame camera? Hopefully that can work for both video and photography. Thanks for the help! 😃
First, thanks for putting together a marvelous video. Super informative and through. Still, at 9:02 when discussing the burst shooting you said you don’t have to wait until the buffer clears before you can start shooting, but this has not been my experience. I have to wait, sometimes it seems like 15 seconds for the buffer to clear before I can take another shot.
Another awesome video review. I was contemplating getting the A6400 back when I purchased my Canon 90D but went with the 90D because of the touch screen. I love the image you get from Sony cameras but the thing that stops me from going Sony is the lack of a full featured touch screen. But this camera has such awesome video quality and much better Auto focus features then my 90D. Sorry for the long post...
@@sharondeutscher2690 lol... Yes please.... I will be getting one eventually though, joking aside, as I just love the color features and it would work better with my Sony Video camera. Yes, I would miss the touch screen features I get on my 90D, but I would still like to get one some day.
Thanks for this great video. I am buying the a6400 because of your great review. However, could you please recommend which sigma or cheaper lens would be a good lens for interview style, to get a blur background and a sharp view of the person interviewed in the video? Is the 16mm good for this? Many thanks
Thanks Mario. They are both outstanding. I would probably pick the X-T4 unless I needed better low-light performance (which I rarely do) or unlimited recording.
awesome review! just got the a6600 body only since it was a good deal. what's a good budget lens you recommend to start out with? thinking around 2-400 :)
Hi Andy and CONGRATS!! I always recommend that you start with the kit lens because of: th-cam.com/video/z-x-d-K9Jfw/w-d-xo.html if you already have it, then I would need to know what you are looking for this second lens to do. Thank you for the kind words and for being part of the channel!
It’s very good in certain aspects - size, weight, zoom range; fairly good in others - sharpness, focusing, stabilisation; and just okay in terms of bokeh, built quality and pricing (full asking price)
Many thanks for such informative video. Can you please also make a detailed video on what are the best lenses available for a6600 like for video, potrait etc. Thanks again
You're so welcome - glad it was helpful. Yes, I can do that type of video. The Sigma 30mm f/1.4 and 56mm f/1.4 are amazing affordable options (if you don't want to wait)
Awesome review. Thank you! Btw, would you recommend Sony E 50mm f/1.8 OSS instead of Sigma 16mm f/1.4, or not? Also, what Canon all-round lens would you recommend with Sigma MC-11 adapter on a A6600? Thanks for all the details once again!
Thanks so much for the kind words. The 50mm 1.8 wouldn't be used for the same purpose as the 16mm 1.4 (much wider lens). Sigma makes a 56mm 1.4. What are you looking to use it for? Re: MC-11, canon lenses won't work for video. What are you looking to use and why a Canon lens?
@@TechGearTalk Thanks for the response. I'm looking for an all-round lens that is suitable for low light conditions(photography and video both). Is there any one such lens that I can rely on at the moment? Regarding the MC-11: You showed a Canon lens connected to this adapter in your video and the colors looked amazing with it. So was wondering if there any such, Canon lens that you would like to recommend in general. Also, didn't know that it has video restrictions.
So, no Canon lens with the mc-11 will give you continuous auto focus. The best all around lens (IMO) is the 24-70 f/2.8 Sony has a 24-70 f/2.8 but it's $2K... Sigma makes this lens which is nice: amzn.to/2xhrkE6
Super accurate review! I shot yesterday about 6 hours with my a6600 and I still had 5% left of the battery. All the filming is done outdoors, 1080p 50M. First time when I shot, in cold conditions, couple of weekended ago, one battery held for 4.5 hours. I got 2 batteries. I am contemplating the idea of getting a power bank/external battery for longer use, since it's about 4 or 5 times cheaper than these Z-type batteries, but they are thei shit. Looking forward to the next videos on the A6600.
Super appreciate you sharing the battery life experience at different temps! You can also get third party batteries, but since you're shooting for so long, having a powerbank as a backup is awesome. I use that for long days out and just keep the camera plugged in whenever I can.
Way over priced IMO the A6100 is great if you're just interested in photo, A6400 if you're into both photo and video and you'll know why the A6600 is for you if you're experienced enough limitations with your gear. This is a unit I only recommend buying as a body only and if you already have glass
I was convinced to buy Canon 200D after watching ur video last year. U deserve 1m Sub within this year. What a detailed video this is! Thank u Sir.....
I have always enjoyed your reviews, I currently have the Sony A7III, and was looking at this A6600 to pair with my Sony 200-600mm lens. Being the 6600 is a crop and would give me more reach then the A7III without having to use super 35 mode. Have you any thoughts on that combo thank you.
That would be an awesome setup Tim - ALL THE REACH!!! If you are finding that you need that extra cropping power, it would be a great pair. Let me know if you get it! The 200-600 is a lens I would love to own some day.
A6400 is the best of the best from price point and features. Plus it has the built in flash that is deal breaker for me I am not changing mine for another 5 years
My first apsc is a6400 (with Sigma 16mm and Sony 35mm OSS). I was contemplating in between a7iii, a6600 (or even XT4) as my next. After so much research, I was 90% for a6600 due to it's smooth auto focus transitions, ergonomics, form factor and of course price (both body and lenses). And you just made it 100%! Thanks for being so detailed. I learned so many about my next camera in this video alone compared to anywhere else (Yes I can read and understand English. But since I'm a new hybrid shooter, I don't really know what the hell I just read LOL!). Love your channel man!
What's up Firdaus! That is a nice setup a6400+16+35. I'm so glad that the video was helpful. This is a fantastic camera, and it will be a super natural transition. If you're looking for that IBIS and the better battery life (plus real time eye af) - you'll love it! Appreciate having you as part of the channel! (is this the first video you've seen?)
Since I'm mostly a video shooter than stills, it wasn't just the IBIS (it ain't that impressive anyway but it's better than nothing). But a little bit of everything. And I'm just looking for my A cam (a6400 is my B cam and will stay in my studio most of the time; unless during travel of course). And I needed something that will last for a good few years. Initially I thought the next camera for me after a6400 would be a7iii (because it's a full frame). But I was wrong because I prefer my gears to be compact yet powerful. Besides, I don't shoot professionally and that flip up screens are so important for framing! So, a6400 and a6600 would be a great combo (trust me when I say this - it's so hard to decide because every information online keep suggesting either to dive straight to a6600 instead of a6400 or to dive straight into a7iii if you've already have a6400). But I didn't jump on the a6600 yet because it had a really bad rep ever since the launch. I've been tuning to your channel since I bought my first apsc (along with other stuff such as iFootage). Think I watched more than 50% of your videos by now. And you have a lot of detailed and awesome videos (despite being 40 minutes, I like this one the best). In fact, your quote "Buy it nice or buy it twice" is stuck in my head forever. Because it's true LOL!
I super appreciate you being part of the channel all this time 🙏 I think the a/b cam a6600, a6400 is perfect. Re-use lenses, same for factor (very similar), nice and small, no recording limit!! 👊
Yup. Also, I'm aiming to sell the 35mm (idk why but the images it produces is a bit soft to my taste and I don't like how it looks on the camera especially with a cage; but it has OSS) and add Sigma 30mm, 56mm (to complete the trifecta) and Sony 85mm f1.8. While I'm pretty sure about 56mm and 85mm, idk about the Sigma 30mm and Sony 35mm. From your experience, which of the two is sharper on the a6400 (without IBIS)?
I love the sigma trio (I currently have the ef-m trio and the 16 E-mount) They are all sharp enough for me. Most of the photos in this video were shot with the 16
I havent seen the whole video but i really appriciate and love the way you make video and explain thin and thick o the product....2ndly those time stamps are awesome to enjoy video as well....thumbs up bro...just want advice from you I am confused to buy a cam...what would you suggest me between Canon 200d or sony a6400 as my use is for video making...and what other option would you suggest...i use continous clip...
Brother you have mentioned that a6600 has unlimited recording option...does a6400 also have same option...cause you have mentioned a6400 has unlimited video option
Hello sir, I'm a full time fashion photographer, Now growing my self in videos as well, Which camera will you prefer I can use for atleast 2-3 Yeara for videos between canon, Sony, lumix, olyumpus etc etc.
@@TechGearTalk 😂 right. I'm trying to decide if I really *need* the A7III or get this and save in the long run on lenses and accessories. I don't really see much limitations on APS-C cameras outside of perception that full frame equals more serious work but I think the smaller cameras can handle a full load.
I've only used the MC-11. Like I mentioned, it will only work for photos (or video with manual focus). I've heard the MB can "kinda" work for video with continuous AF.
Hi Clint. This would be a great camera and the AF is fantastic. Here are all three cameras in the lineup if you’re still choosing th-cam.com/video/TrAe8XaYwwY/w-d-xo.html hope that helps.
Hey! Yeah all the urban exploration looked great! So it seems like the 16mm Sigma really is a solid purchase. I’ve compared cameras a lot through your videos and others’, and I think I’ll eventually get the M6 Mark II and the Sigma 16mm. Your videos are invaluable in making decisions like these!
That lens is so good, seriously. The M6MKII and that 16 would be a dream canon aps-c setup. So glad the videos are helpful - appreciate your support Scott!
I have the A6400, I thought about upgrading but seems all I would gain is the battery as the ibis is almost useless. I could probably sell this a6400 probably $700-$800 used but would have to fork up another $400 or so plus tax, all that for a battery upgrade. I don't know I feel like the money would be well spent on a few more lenses or just upgrade to A73. I'm in this weird spot where the a6600 is the king of apsc and the a6400 is the underdog yet they're the same camera for the most part. Either way love how much knowledge you provide to us, keep it up!
Color science and menu makes any Sony camera a no go in my book. I struggled enough with their terrible picture profiles for a while. And the menu is complete garbage. It doesn’t compare in any way to even the xt3.
@@TibiNjoy I picked one up around 1100. I think some are on sale for $1200. To me, I love to 2x battery life. Probably even more juice then that. Lets me just run around all day shooting without carrying a battery. Also IBIS does help a ton. A6400 is wobbly esp for video and I vlog a lot. A6600 smoothens it out a ton. To me its a dream and I don't regret it at all.
I’m not a Sony guy, but I’m following and enjoying your amazing photos! Wow. Excellent ideas 💡and angles. I agree with you about the negative aspects of that camera, mostly after the Fuji one (the silver one ☝️) was out, but it looks small, light and easy to handle. Filming more than 30 minutes- priceless! Excellent video my friend. I enjoy how you go deep the rabbit hole showing every single detail of the product. And what can I say about your b rolls? Dope! 120fps! 😲 man! You’re making me jealous now! Thanks for sharing 👊
can you create a video showing us your camera settings with explanations for the a6600? I am an absolute beginner and have never used a Sony camera before but I am interested in getting this camera.
thanks so much! I will be using it for 4k video (will probably export it at 1080p in post for my channel) :) I have learned so much from your videos, I really enjoy them. I am also trying to figure out where to purchase it the camera and am wondering your thoughts on some of the bundle packages on rakuten, adorama, b&h, etc. Ideally I would just buy all components separately to get the accessories i want (basically all of your recommendations) but the cost quickly increases if I do that. Any advice would help! Need to stay under $2k haha
Ok, so if it were me, I would get the a6400 instead of the a6600 and save some money. Then I would get a mic and a nice, fast lens (in addition to the versatile kit). I buy my gear from B&H. The packages you see, make sure you aren't just paying for junk. As far as a tripod, if you're not moving your camera while you shoot, you can pretty much use any tripod with a ballhead. Hope this helps. Start slow, don't spend your whole 2k right off the bat. Appreciate your support!
If I MUST buy Sony, depending on budget it will be 6100, 6400 or 7III. And if I LOVE aps-c format and want the best tech and capabilities, I would go Fuji, which had no full frame to push me towards and puts the best things and the whole lens range in this format.
I believe the price gap becomes too small for the difference in capabilities. Maybe have to point out I'm talking about Europe, where the price drop of a6600 apparently did not happen. In 'brick-and-mortar' stores in my country the crop sensor camera is just $300 cheaper than 7III. On British Amazon is the same thing - 1400 pounds against 1640. It would be plain dumb not to take the fully professional body over 6600 for 300 dollars.
Thank you for the insight. I don't completely agree with your statement about it being "plain dumb". The cost of the body is only one factor. FF lenses are much more expensive, so the budget discrepancy doesn't end with the body. If size, weight and $ are not an issue, I would get the a7iii with GM lenses. Otherwise, I would probably opt for the a6400. How much is it new? used? Great discussion!!!
The FF glass is more expensive indeed, but if you want maximum quality of the 6600, you will not get it with the kit lenses. They are the cheap ones, but also of lower quality. So, most likely, if you want the best IQ from your 6600, you will end up with some if not all FF glass again. Or the new 2.8 crop lens, which is the same price as a full frame lens. Now, if you shoot primes, Sigma make some relatively cheap AND good ones for crop. But so do Samyang and Tamron for FF. I see crop sensor being STILL a neglected system by Sony in terms of glass. So you end up with two options really. Go cheap or go good (like with many things in life :). If cheap is what you can afford, it makes no sense to shoot the plastic kit lenses with a 1200 (or more) dollar camera. If good is reachable in terms of budged, why shooting the good glass with less capable camera? For me this model, 6600, is in no-man's land. Neither so much ahead of 6400 as capabilities, not so much lower than the FF as price. And outside of Sony world, arguably a weaker camera than the top Fuji models. I personally wouldn't buy it. Just my personal logic.
Hi! For cameras without flip screens what would you suggest using so I can see when I'm recording myself. Are there any small external screens or something I can buy to use while recording? Thank you!
Thanks for the kind words! That's a really good idea. Most of the photos (other than portraits) were shot with the Sigma 16mm I showed in the video. I'll work on that though!
@@sameeroafbazivich2832 I am in the same spot and I am pretty sure I will go with the a6600 or 6400 mostly cause I feel it is the better option for vlogging and day by day use for the price, the a7III is amazing but just seems like a bit much for vlogging and also no twisty screen and so on, seems like a way more dedicated professional FF cam
First impression: Wow, great background and photos! The biggest things missing for me were: You kept comparing the 6600 to the 6400 rather than the 6500 which it supplants. Also, the big complaint besides overheating and battery life for the 6500 was the poor performance of the LCD in sunlight. I didn't see you test that, though it appears the screen is better than on the older models. Your photos really help sell this camera, though I know it's more you than the equipment. I'll check your other reviews and recommendations. Maybe you or someone else will address the LCD.
This video is a soft copy of user manual for me. Old sensor and no built-in-flash is disappointing. Excellent job. Please keep it up. God Bless. Regards.
Quick question if I may. Have you used the Sigma 18-35 f1.8 with the A6600 using the MC-11 adapter? How is the focusing performance in video mode with eye tracking compared to the Canon SL3? Equal? Better? Worse? Thanks again for wonderfully detailed reviews - detail with relevance.
Yes, I used it. The AF is great, but it makes a constant sound so you can't really use on-camera mic. Watch this: th-cam.com/video/p9fYDrqZbyo/w-d-xo.html
@@TechGearTalk Thank you. Yes, will have off camera mic. Generally speaking, do you feel that A6600 comparable to SL3 in focusing speed and accuracy? Thanks. (Watching the video but can't tell about Sl3 comparison.)
IMO the a6600 has better face/eye detection than the SL3. But I love the dual pixel AF so you can also look at: th-cam.com/video/Nir8pfvfdFI/w-d-xo.html
@@TechGearTalk Wow, I did not think that the A6600 would do better with eye tracking than the SL3 using the Sigma 18-35. A million thanks!! This MAY have sealed the deal for me to keep the A6600. Still deciding but that smaller body, longer battery life (no need for AC adapter during my ministry teaching sessions), IBIS, etc does favor the A6600. A million THANKS again. Much appreciated.

Thanks for the awesome videos. Very informative and professional. Based on your recommendations and for my needs, I decided to go with the A6600 instead of the A6400. I do have a question regarding the lens; I’m wanting the Sony E 50mm f/1.8 OSS Lens but there’s also the Sony FE 50mm f/1.8 Lens w/o OSS. Is it necessary or worth the extra $100 for the OSS lens since the A6600 already has the image stabilization? Thanks!
Hi, I am between a6400 and a6600, my intent is to use my camera as mainly photography camera, so I am a bit concerned with the lack of stabilized wide angle stabilized fast lenses to pair with the a6400, and I am afraid if I got the a6400 and paired it with sigma 16mm or 30mm f1.4 for low light photos, the lack of stabilization would affect my photos, and I would regret not buying the a6600 with IBIS, do you have a thought for that? thank you so much

Dude this is an insanely high quality review
Great review, thanks for making it! It shouted in surprise when seeing the length but am happy to have watched the entire video.
A quick question: Since the A6600 supports external 4:2:2 recording, does the smaller brethren A6400 too, or is it a new feature?
Hi and thank you - I had a lot to say 😂🤣
Yes, they it will do 8 bit 4:2:2 externally. I hope that helps. I also did a comparison of the three model (+a6100) if you want to see more: th-cam.com/video/TrAe8XaYwwY/w-d-xo.html Welcome to the channel!
Appreciate the great Overview Comparison. Looking forward to digging deeper and using your video resources as they are very clear and easy to fall.

To record externally, you would need an external recorder like an Atomos Ninja V and use the HDMI out (this would be true even if they used USB-C - BUT STILL, USE USB-C!!!)
Appreciate having you as part of the community 🙏
Just want you to know that your super detailed review pushed me to purchase this camera
got it now..?if yes...satisfied?
THIS is the kind of video I was looking for!
Awesome details and all questions answered.
Exactly what I need to know when trying to decide wether I want to buy this camera.
Thank you so much!
You’re so welcome. Glad I could help.
No wondering why I’m following you ( easy explanation, details, clean, to the point, quality, and more )
Thank you so much my friend 🙏
Nice full review! Simple and explanatory
love your reviews as these are more into longer more detail presentation. Just want to ask how's your experience with canon lenses being adapted to sony? I am thinking of adding a sony camera to my gear (all my cameras are canons) because of the dynamic range and video capabilities. Do you think I'll be fine if all my lenses are from canon?
Thanks. The lenses will work well for photos - but not video (unless you use manual focus).
Appreciate the feedback my friend and glad the video was helpful. I'll try to incorporate some overlays with things like framerates, etc. 🙏
great walkthrough. so thorough and detailed. i just ordered a used a6600 with a sigma 56mm and cant wait for it to arrive to try all this
Congrats on the new gear!!! Thanks so much for the kind words about the video. I appreciate you for being part of the channel!
So far you are the best reviewer I have seen.
Oh wow, thanks so much.
Hi, your videos are so great. Will the kit lens that comes with the a6600 be appropriate for filming yoga/fitness videos indoors from about 10' away? Between the a7iii and a6600 I I'm leaning towards the a6600 for these videos.
You are the real deal man thanks nothing is left behind explained in simple detail.
Glad I could help!
Great video as always! Question, I’m a beginner and I would like to know which lenses do you recommend for the Sony 6600 that will get a similar angle field of a full frame camera? Hopefully that can work for both video and photography. Thanks for the help! 😃
Many many thanks for all this explanation.. it is very useful
I have a question is this resolution will b enough to print photos as with large size?
Please compare with fujifilm xt4 or xt3❤️❤️ by the way love from 🇮🇳 india
I will do both for sure.

It’s definitely a powerful camera. Thank you again for sharing your thinking
Want mine?
@@sharondeutscher2690 lol... Yes please.... I will be getting one eventually though, joking aside, as I just love the color features and it would work better with my Sony Video camera.
Yes, I would miss the touch screen features I get on my 90D, but I would still like to get one some day.
Thanks for this great video. I am buying the a6400 because of your great review. However, could you please recommend which sigma or cheaper lens would be a good lens for interview style, to get a blur background and a sharp view of the person interviewed in the video? Is the 16mm good for this? Many thanks

This video was great! Thanks for your hard work and sharing this information.
Great work!
Since you tried A6600 and XT4 what do you choose? And why?
@@TechGearTalk thanks! I will check out the video! :)
I have it, is the 18-135 good?
It’s very good in certain aspects - size, weight, zoom range; fairly good in others - sharpness, focusing, stabilisation; and just okay in terms of bokeh, built quality and pricing (full asking price)
You know what. I am happy i found your channel. Subscribed. Thank you for a good content.
So glad you found it as well. Welcome!

Excellent review. The best in-depth analysis.
So glad it was helpful!
This kind of review I'm looking for!! Amazing!!
Glad it was helpful!
Nice to see someone including the PAL´s. Good one!
The best all around lens (IMO) is the 24-70 f/2.8
Sony has a 24-70 f/2.8 but it's $2K...
Sigma makes this lens which is nice: amzn.to/2xhrkE6

Thanks so much Earl! Appreciate you taking the time to leave feedback 🙏
Would this be a good first camera to buy? Thanks
It would be an amazing first camera to buy. It's 1000 times better than my first camera 😂🤣
Way over priced IMO the A6100 is great if you're just interested in photo, A6400 if you're into both photo and video and you'll know why the A6600 is for you if you're experienced enough limitations with your gear. This is a unit I only recommend buying as a body only and if you already have glass

I super appreciate you being part of the channel all this time 🙏
I think the a/b cam a6600, a6400 is perfect.
Most of the photos in this video were shot with the 16
Wow thanks for the thorough review!

I have several FF cameras and I have never felt that I "needed" them. To be totally honest, I reach for my aps-c cameras more... convenience...
@@TechGearTalk coming from the a6000 the a6600 makes a lot of sense for me especially with the much improved battery life. Thanks for the dialogue.
No doubt - huge upgrade.
Thanks for your great videos. Question: Which adapter would you recommend for Canon lenses with the A6600 or A6400, the Metabones or Sigma MC-11?
I've only used the MC-11. Like I mentioned, it will only work for photos (or video with manual focus). I've heard the MB can "kinda" work for video with continuous AF.

@@TechGearTalk landscape, and portraits only.
Appreciate you sharing your thought process and glad the video was helpful in making a decision!
Just wondering what light did you have mounted on the cage ? Looks pretty nice but didn't see a link in description, Thanks

More like APS-C Prince.
I believe the Fujifilm X-T4 will reign for a while.
Color science and menu makes any Sony camera a no go in my book. I struggled enough with their terrible picture profiles for a while. And the menu is complete garbage. It doesn’t compare in any way to even the xt3.
Both are super good options. Had a ton of fun with the X-T4
fuji apsc has always been. from lenses to body build, to specs ... the apsc their main mount and gets most of their effort consequentially.
Fuji is probably the most underrated brand at the moment
Sony treats Aps-c like a middle child.

Congrats Justin!
Justin Wu is it worth full than 6400 ?
@@TibiNjoy I picked one up around 1100. I think some are on sale for $1200.
To me, I love to 2x battery life. Probably even more juice then that. Lets me just run around all day shooting without carrying a battery.
Also IBIS does help a ton. A6400 is wobbly esp for video and I vlog a lot. A6600 smoothens it out a ton. To me its a dream and I don't regret it at all.
Justin Wu in conclusion a6600 is better than 6400 for vlog . I have seen that ibis is not better in a6600 is it ?
The a6400 does not have IBIS and the IBIS in the a6600 is helpful, especially when using lenses without OSS.
And what can I say about your b rolls? can you create a video showing us your camera settings with explanations for the a6600? I am an absolute beginner and have never used a Sony camera before but I am interested in getting this camera.
Yup, I'll work on it! it's going to be very similar to this: th-cam.com/video/K_iz3d9Qth8/w-d-xo.html will you be using it for photography or video?
thanks so much!
Would be great to have a "setup" video for the A6600. Thanks as always - keep up the great work. Thoroughly enjoy your videos.
Will do! Definitely check out the a7iii setup video, it will be virtually identical. Thanks for being part of the channel!
I've watched your review on 6400 up to this one. And one thing that I always remember from your video is "GIVE US A CHARGER SONY!!" 😂😂
😂🤣
I don't know if that's good or bad...
@@TechGearTalk i think that's a good side. Let's shout it out so Sony can hear to give us CHARGER! 😊😊
🤣😂🤣
If I MUST buy Sony, depending on budget it will be 6100, 6400 or 7III. And if I LOVE aps-c format and want the best tech and capabilities, I would go Fuji, which had no full frame to push me towards and puts the best things and the whole lens range in this format.
Good insight. What would make you get the a7iii over the a6600 (assuming it's more $$$ and so are the lenses)
That's what makes this hobby so great, every user can pick what works (and makes sense) for them. Also glad to have this type of discussion!
Hi! For cameras without flip screens what would you suggest using so I can see when I'm recording myself. Are there any small external screens or something I can buy to use while recording? Thank you!

I really appreciate you taking the time to watch and for the kind words. Thank you for joining the community 🙏
Great video!!
Like others have commented, we would love to see a X-T4 vs a6600 battle!
Thanks so much Nicholas. I'll get one going as soon as I can get a production model of the X-T4.
This video is a soft copy of user manual for me. Old sensor and no built-in-flash is disappointing. Excellent job. Please keep it up. God Bless. Regards.
Thank you for watching, for the input and the support!
You're very welcome - and unlimited recording (sl3 is only 30 minutes)

CORRECTION: Face tracking and real-time eye AF does work with an external monitor if you're shooting 4k 24 and 4k 25 but does not work in 4k30
What's up everyone?! I hope this review of the Sony A6600 was helpful. What did you think? Do you think it’s worth getting over the a6400? Are the IBIS, battery life and real-time eye af tracking enough for you to spend the extra cash? Let me know
Was there too much detail? Not enough? What did you like, and also, what did you not like? What would you like to see more of? Would love to know what you think, good or bad. I am grateful in advance 🙏
Waiting for Fuji x-t200 test
Need to get one!
Thanks!
You’re welcome Sam, glad they are helpful. It’s hard to answer because you’ll never regret having more stabilization.
Hi, I am between a6400 and a6600, my intent is to use my camera as mainly photography camera, so I am a bit concerned with the lack of stabilized wide angle stabilized fast lenses to pair with the a6400, and I am afraid if I got the a6400 and paired it with sigma 16mm or 30mm f1.4 for low light photos, the lack of stabilization would affect my photos, and I would regret not buying the a6600 with IBIS, do you have a thought for that? thank you so much
Depends on what kind of low light shots. Stabilization does help, so it’s a matter of how much value you get for that extra money
Looking over videos about Sony 6000 series of cameras. I am wanting to get into photography and video more and am leaning toward the 6400 as a start. Thanks for the info on the 6600
Glad this was helpful Gary. I have detailed reviews for all of them and this comparison: th-cam.com/video/TrAe8XaYwwY/w-d-xo.html
