Cheers to a new month and weekend! As voted by you guys, I show two common techniques of how to attach sleeves into an armhole. The sleeve pattern on my channel has a high sleeve head therefore has a lot of ease. I reduce the sleeve head by 3cm and curved it back to the front & back. I hope this video is helpful to you guys.
Lovely tutorial Kimmy. Please, have you ever considered doing a tutorial on grading patterns? Pls, consider this one request from me. Most especially plus sizes. Thank you.... 😍
I didn’t know the first method, and to be honest it seems a lot easier than the second one! Thank you! I will definitely try the first method, since I am a beginner at sewing! 🙏🏻💓
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I had been following a shirt tutorial and they made sewing the arms in the round look so easy, but I was struggling so much! Sewing them on flat males so much more sense to me as a beginner and it worked a charm. Thank you!!
Thank you! I am sewing my first sleeves using the flat method. I am a visual learner so it was so helpful to see someone do it rather than just reading the pattern description.
I think from now on, I am just going to sew sleeves in the first method. This is so much easier! I have been making garments with drop sleeves, just so I can avoid sewing sleeves like this. LOL! Thank you so much for your demonstration on how to do this!
Hi Kim, I just discovered your videos on sewing and I must say its one of the easier to follow step by step especially making paper patterns. I enjoyed making sleeve pattern, sewing sleeves both ways and also making a bodice pattern. I am starting to love my sewing. Will definitely be trying some new things.
I didn’t do it perfectly but I had no idea how to get the sleeve on before watching you. I already sewed the seam of the sleeve and well…. Thank you so much for helping me out. Pushing the sleeve out of the way was a great help 😅🤩🦋🌈🦋🤩😅
Well done, Kim Dave. Stitch around the sleeve head with the machine and pull slightly, without forming gathers, for a more trouble free sleeve insertion in both methods.
Thank you so much for this video, Kim. I had to look up a bunch of videos for the shirt I am working on, and your video was by far the most helpful. You gave really great instructions, and it also helps that you have a beautiful voice! Thank you so so so much!!
Hey Kim, great tutorial, for some reason I always end up doing the round method, but I have to agreed that the 2D is much easier. Thanks for the video I really like your channel.
Woow!! Kimmy, thanks loads for this tutorial, this is the most difficult aspect of stitching, now we have a detailed tutorial on it, thank you so much.... be blessed always.... 😘❤️😍
I making an Asymmetrical one shoulder top, the one where it looks like I’m missing a sleeve around the arm hole type not the one where the neckline slides diagonally on either side, and this tutorial explains it. It’ll also be useful for when I make my huge Christmas gift. Pjs for everyone in my immediate family.
Thanks! I'm making a dress using tailornova since i couldn't find anything I wanted on yt and i'm a beginner and learn better from visuals, so i'm eyeballing, and going on youtube for certain parts.
always good to search for something and find you even though I subscribed a long time ago, and love your videos! Algo working? no matter. thanks! I'm making a flannel shirt with French seams. So in the round is what I am doing.

It’s too late to save my latest project’s initial sleeves but hopefully this video saves future ones from being such an upsetting failure on the sleeves
Aww!! Thanks a lot Ma'am. Am so impressed learning this trick. The flat method is just the way to go mehnn! I've struggled with the round method coz sometimes I attach my sleeve perfectly but other times my sleeve magically becomes longer than my armhole despite taking an accurate measurement.
I need help! If you add eez to the cap of the sleeve how do you sew it in without it hanging off the the bottom? Doesn’t really make sense cause when you add extra to the sleeve cap it’s going to be bigger then the armhole.
Good day ma please regarding your basic sleeve you placed your master ruler on the bicep line and got two lines on each side which those lines were 13cm long on both side please what measurements did u use to get does line before drawing the straight lines “13cm” am kinda confused becus i felt u said mid point of the biceps means you would measure all the way to the end before getting your straight line..kindly throw more light on it ma..thank you🙏🏾

Glad it was helpful!
I am trying to teach myself to sew, and this tutorial about sleeves is super great. Do you have any easy ways to do facing?
I need help!
If you add eez to the cap of the sleeve how do you sew it in without it hanging off the the bottom? Doesn’t really make sense cause when you add extra to the sleeve cap it’s going to be bigger then the armhole.
Oh do you sew the sleeves on before u sew everything together makes sense I thjnk
Thank you very much, and please need more videos.

I want to ask you aquestion.
What can i do when the sleeves are larger than the body( back and front) . How i sew it?
Mirna Hossam I would personally drop the sleeve head by a few centimetres or make the armhole wider
Great tutorial!! You made sleeves a little less intimidating. Cheers.
I have soooo much trouble with sleeves.
Kindly see the new video th-cam.com/video/SZPu4-eZXNY/w-d-xo.html all about solving some sleeve fit issues.
That’s the part I always mess up on and my whole project suffers because of it
Me looking for Ashley/best dressed comment cuz she said in one of her video that sleeves are one of her biggest sewing fears.🤣😂
I'm sewing for the first time and idk why I decided to do the second method. I'm dying
I think you should have used colored fabric so we would know which is inside which is outside

How to measure and cut from a sleeve
