The primer was good! I feel like for me it’s not a super needed step but I had no snagging or lifting. I feel like the squish light makes the biggest difference. The removal was the same - I used the floss pick method and everything came off just fine. The primer came off with the strips.
@carolblair2845 ohora is meant to be as long (or as short) as your natural nail. It’s not a nail extension product. I don’t like nail polish strips as the chip and wear at the tips (just like regular nail polish).
Well, I tried gel nails (Ohora) for the first time. I’m not someone who has ever done her nails herself, and I’ve only ever had 3 professional manicures, and none recently. But I watched your video, followed everything you said - and I just removed the nails after 4 1/2 weeks because they were so grown out! (Maybe it’s not good to leave them on that long? I was just lazy…) They looked great the entire time; I had one come off about halfway through, but I just put another one on and didn’t have any more problems. Anyway, I’m really loving the gel nails, so thank you for your very helpful video.
I’m so glad you had a good experience! Usually about 2 weeks is the max recommended time, because there could be moisture trapped under there eventually (from micro lifting you can’t see). That happened to me with a pedicure once. It was looking perfect for a whole month but I decided to finally take it off. The nails under were white and soft. They thankfully recovered quickly once I took off the stickers and they could dry out.
Hi There! Love your videos! I know you don't use it but have you ever heard of or know anyone that puts the Ohora strips on top of nail builder? I have very thin nails and am a nail picker to boot. So I am having trouble with these strips lasting more than a week. I was thinking maybe if my nail was thicker and not as bumpy, sort of like acrylic it would help with the wear.
Thank you so much for your tips! I’ve used Color Street and Dashing Diva extensively but not Ohora or any others. I like Color Street because they fit the shape of my cuticles better than Dashing Diva, which are too square for all of my fingers. However Dashing Diva wins over Color Street for tip wear. Your tip about stretching the strip gently with the cuticle pusher might solve my problem but have you found a brand that offers more rounded cuticles than Dashing Diva?
Most brands, including dashing diva, have two ends to each strip. One more rounded and one more square. While a lot of brands suggest which side is the cuticle side, I’ve definitely flipped the strips around to fit my cuticle. Nailog has a fairly round side. In general, most of these are pretty similar tbh. If using the other end of DD doesn’t work, then I would try nailog maybe.
I love your videos btw. I recommend them all the time!! Do you feel like the primer protected your nails? Online it says it offers nail protection and conditioning.
Thanks so much! The way I remove ohora leaves my nails in good shape without the primer. But maybe someone with very thin or brittle nails would benefit more. In short, I don’t see the need for the primer for myself. But maybe there’s more of a necessity for others.
Can the nails come into contact with water sooner after using this squish light trick? Generally, a 5-hour wait is advised to avoid affecting the adhesion. thank you

I don’t know how truly common it is, but I see nail techs who do regular paint on gel and people who do press on nails use this all the time. I typically don’t do this for stickers, but I have started to do it for glue on nails. And it does seem to help them adhere better.
No. I started to get snagging and took them off after a week. But the brand reached out and said that the Costco ones aren’t the same as their main line so they mailed me a box from their regular lineup. I haven’t had time to try them yet but I will.

I f you are just going to cut them as short as your natural nails, why not just use polish strips?

Quote of the day, “because I’m a perfectionist” 😂 it is an endearing quality 🥰
Sometimes being that way complicates my life 😅
Love your videos! Thanks for sharing
Thanks!

@@kbeautyhobbit I will aim for no more than two weeks from now on! They were getting way too long for me anyway. :)
So informative! Ty Lucy 🌹

Haven’t seen ohora on top, but I’ve done builder over the stickers and it worked well.

@@kbeautyhobbit Thanks! I've noticed that but some still seem too square, even the rounded side. It's probably me! I'll give Nailog a try.

When you remove your stripes after using primer, do you use a nail polish remover?
I didn’t. The primer just basically came off with the stickers. But you can definitely use polish remover to get every last bit off.
Can the nails come into contact with water sooner after using this squish light trick? Generally, a 5-hour wait is advised to avoid affecting the adhesion. thank you
I still wait as long as I can. Usually do them before bed and go to sleep.
Soooo… how did the primer work? Did you see any benefit? Love your videos! I’m an Ohora convert after carefully following your techniques. Thank you!

the nail strips look like jelly polish! What did u say the name of the wraps were?
It’s in the title of the video :) with links in the description. Or do you mean the color name?
@@kbeautyhobbitthe name of the color.
@glazedtalons sorry it’s been so long, I have no idea. I usually try to state the design name at the start of the video.
How long did they last? I find a top coat thins out over time and the 'cap' wears off. Any way to fix this?
I get 12-14 days from ohora. Perhaps. A different top coat is the answer - I haven’t had this happen with mine ever.
Is roughing up nails a common tactic people use for more longevity with these types of semi-cured nails?
I don’t know how truly common it is, but I see nail techs who do regular paint on gel and people who do press on nails use this all the time. I typically don’t do this for stickers, but I have started to do it for glue on nails. And it does seem to help them adhere better.
My ohora nail stickers fell off the next Day doing chores
Could he application issue or defective batch (low chance but I guess could happen)
Were the uuuuu. nails worth it?
No. I started to get snagging and took them off after a week. But the brand reached out and said that the Costco ones aren’t the same as their main line so they mailed me a box from their regular lineup. I haven’t had time to try them yet but I will.
Your videos are amazing, thank you so much!
@shakirahollis6153 Aw thanks. You are so sweet.
@kbeautyhobbit I love UUUUU directly from their website, but the Costco ones were horrible.
@neonhol0gram they sent me a different set. At first glance it looks just like Costco but blue. I haven’t gotten around to trying it yet.
