    The Rogue Cronus and Jbl L100 is just an awesome combo, one of the more engaging and fun systems I have heard in a long time. Hits way above their weight class

    OMG! My kind of equipment, Rogue Audio! I have a Rogue Audio Magnum 99 tube preamp paired to a Musical Fidelity A308cr,. Both are OVER 15 years old and still sound SWEET. I’m thinking of adding a streamer, don’t want to break the bank or ad dedicated DAC, what do you recommend? I have a set of unused outputs on my Rogue itching to be used.

      Try either an Aurander A10DAC or a MOON 280D with Mind2 built in. Call the store when they are open. Both are available.

      Kendrick Davis thanks for the recommendations, unfortunately both of those pieces cost more than I want to spend. I guess it will be Bluesound or Auralic?

    Looks really nice----I'm considering the move from SS equipment to tubes and this is in my price range. I have a pair of Dynaudio Special 40 speakers that love power. Do you think this would be a good match? And can you explain the 'gain' and why I would need to adjust this. Thanks so much!

      Hi Dwight. Thanks for your comment. We love this amplifier and it would do well with this amplifier. The adjustable gain we were referring to is in the Phono Preamp Stage of this amplifier and is used to provide the different gain (an increase of power, i.e volume) needed for high and low output Moving Coil and Moving Magnet cartridges.

    Hi Question,, do they both 4 ohm and 8 ohm taps on the back?,, in the literature I cant find a picture. On the II you have to pop the top and swap wires to change form 8 ohm to 4 ohm, it would be so simple to have both 4 and 8 ohm speaker connections on the back panel for just a few dollars more.

    • @BrooksBerdanLtd
      @BrooksBerdanLtd  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Steve. Thank you for your question. The back of the amplifier only has one set of binding posts. Either the factory at the time of the order, our service department, or an informed owner with a Philips screwdriver can make the change internally after removing the cover. It is just a matter of reconnecting a different colored wire.

      @@BrooksBerdanLtd After making the switch from 8 ohm to 4 ohm, is the power output still only 100 watts? I ask because I'm considering this for Magnepan 1.7i's. Also, what's the damping factor?

    how would it be compared to the moon 240i? i know its not the same, how would they compare? im considergint both of them or naim nait 5si

    • @BrooksBerdanLtd
      @BrooksBerdanLtd  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your question J v. We don't think that one is better than the other, but there are differences. I would say that the Rogue has the advantage in the midrange and high-frequency smoothness. It has lush and mellow ease that is seductive. The MOON 240i is for a solid state amplifier, dynamic, and has a solid sense of drive, especially with the Bass. Both units have a built-in Phono Pre-Amp, though the preamp in the Rogue has variable loading and can also do Moving Coil cartridges. The Rogue is less expensive, $2300 vs $2995 and the remote on the MOON will switch inputs. The MOON has a 10-year warranty.
      I think we are partial to the sound of the Cronus, but the MOON has a DAC, more features, and less$.
      Can't go wrong.
      Sorry we are not super hands-on familiar with the NAIM as we are with the others. I know it's good stuff. Maybe a little overpriced.

    I like it enough to buy save for one glaring omission; no tone controls. The way music sounds to each individual is not "one size fits all". I want tone controls, and I don't want to have to put an EQ in the music stream to accomplish that. The less interconnects the better. And hey Rogue, while you're at it, put an extra set of speaker outputs on the back for those who want to run bi wiring. Four more binding posts don't add that much to the cost and it sure makes it a lot easier.

    • @BrooksBerdanLtd
      @BrooksBerdanLtd  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for your comment. It really is a nice amp. Having an adjustable bias has some design and sound advantages. Most Owners will never need to adjust the bias unless they change the tubes, and it really is very easy. Tubes should last at least 6 to 8 years and many owners go 10 to 15 years. Just be sure to monitor them, and that is easy too.
