    Let me comment because this is my field. Before i immigrated to the UK in 2021 I worked as a vet to a couple of poultry farms in the Ashanti region. I am proud to have worked for the biggest poultry farmer ( Samtak farms ) at that time with over 400 thousand birds. There a couple of things he thought me about farming that I’d like to share. 1. Poultry is a full time business not a side business. You need to be at the farm at all times 2. Do not cut corners. If the birds are supposed to eat a certain amount at a particular stage of their lives give that exact amount. Don’t add don’t subtract. Pay critical attention to their feed when they’re very young from week 1-12 most people neglect that thinking they’re not yet laying so let me feed less. You’ll reap the consequence of that later on. 3. Employ a full time vet that will come to your farm at least once a week to monitor disease in your flock. Prevention is better than cure. If you allow disease to set in it will take time for the birds to recover and if you are not careful they wouldn’t return to the same level of production they used to give you. 4. Keep Newcastle disease under control especially during their peak. If you allow Newcastle to set in it could ruin everything. 5. Buy and stock maize up when it’s cheap. That will help you offset some of the cost that comes with the feeding.
    He always advised me to go into poultry because with poultry he has been able to achieve a lot in life. I’m now in the UK hustling for money and I will sure return one day back home to go into farming one day because it it very very profitable if you do it right. ( Some of the farms I used to go were not doing the right thing at all and when I got there I made a lot of changes and it improved their production massively) Like I said earlier get a qualified vet on your farm not the quacks or one old guy who says he’s been farming since the olden days lol. When you do this you will enjoy poultry farming. My little take on this 😊 Nice interview

    Because it's very painful how some Ghanaians don't like work and destroy businesses

    Hmm about the workers attitude, I experienced same issue last year June in Ghana. I started Green Pepper and Cabbage on my 2.5 acres in Kumasi. I kept every single receipt of funds I sent them.. Early May I went down to GH and everything was smooth bc I was always at the farms. First harvest we had 23 Bags of Green Pepper and 13 Bags of Cabbage. I had to return back to the states due to sch and other stufff... the moment I left Ghana booom stories from the workers. not even 1000 cedis did I received plus the sales too they kept it. I returned to Ghana November and eveythign was seek and hide. If you wanna do business in Ghana make sure you can have a longer stay to monitor if not forget and safe till whenever you can be there. THEY ARE VERY WICKED

It happened to me too. Employee thieves must be dragged to court and jailed for their crime. What a big shame, Indians and Malaysians Chinese and Philippinos getting all good jobs in Ghana while citizens sweeping the floor. We deserve that bcos of widespread DISHONESTY. Kwaku Ananse people!! Oh... it saddens me how our own people love sabotaging their employees. We are simply selfish, it's the same problem that a black American family had in Gambia. The workers very lazy. I don't understand this kind of childish menterlity

    • @nellsawere
      @nellsawere ปีที่แล้ว

      This is the reality of the entire world workforce. The only difference is good management. It is not the job of the workers to make a business successful. It is that of the management team. Once we understand this, Ghanaian businesses will thrive.
