I love your builds Kate. I think the first one I watched you build was the beautiful waterfall build based on a real life build and it was absolutely amazing. You also helped me with your tutorials on roofing because my earlier builds suck on roofing LOL. You have inspired me loads and I love what you do with T.O.O.L. as well. Your tutorials on using T.O.O.L. has really helped and saved the day in a few of my builds as well. I'm off college for the moment so have a little bit of extra time now to build - but I've been having lots of fun with Dream home decorator recently - not even played the game aspect of it yet - just been building, seeing what works and what doesn't. I think those cubes we got could be really good in place of the get famous pedestal as a shelving sort of system in a circular fashion, think it would be awesome to put some clutter items in it - I'm giving away my ideas LOL. Take them, you inspire me sweetie :)
I think that a lot of people on TH-cam are under the impression that they have to be “on” all the time, but I think it’s OK to do a video every once in a while when you’re off. Everyone has those kind of days, and it lets other people know that that’s part of life . You can’t be perfect all the time
I’m pretty sure she’s aware, keep cool 😅. I even remember her taking breaks from yt before so I think she’s only doing this exhausting session for contract reasons, as this is early and timed access content.
It's about keeping within the algothrim for recommendations and such. Especially if you notice YTers that only put out three videos a day? Those will get into the algothrim first and keep with venue versus constantly uploading. $$$

I've always called it a Welsh Dresser too. Hutch always sounds really odd to me for a kitchen cabinet. In the UK a hutch is where you put a pet rabbit or guinea pig, right?
I'm with you there... The terrain tool is actually a bit intimidating for me. I haven't really get the hang of it, but it makes a lot of builds so much more interesting.

In the South US, we cal the hutches “curio cabinets” 😊 they usually hold a multitude of items. Fine china, cookbooks, nice vases, your special/holiday dinnerware, etc.
There was an American TV Series that ran from the mid-to-late 70’s called ‘Starsky and Hutch’. So there you go with ‘hutch’ for a name. It was his last name, but still.

I've always called the Hutch a Kitchen Dresser and I'm English :) My Irish Granny had a wood one in her "off the grid" kitchen/diner/sitting room & my English Nan had one in her "best" front room for all her Special Dinner plates, bowls, cutlery, with tablecloth, napkins and coasters in the drawers and photo albums in bottom cupboards. I had a 1960's formica/pressed board version in my 1st bedsit to store itchen stuff and prep food.
Growing up in the US we always called it a hutch and it stayed in the kitchen/dining area. Sometimes in a big hallway as a catch-all. And it was one of our most important pieces of furniture. 🙂

I was coming down to say both of the things you said! Actually the foundation thing was part of why for ages I was confused as to why my builds looked different to builds in game. Because I wasn't using foundations because none of the houses where I live in England have visible foundations. I'm so glad I'm not going loopy and its actually a thing!
I really like how the voiceover for this video is super relaxed. I got out of sims for a while and the last time I watched your channel was before you lived with James (woo!!) maybe like a yearish after you decorated his mansion build. I've recently started watching youtubers again and I'm very happy for you and how far you've come! You seem a lot happier, a lot looser, and like you're just generally vibing with being alive. It's amazing to see and I hope you're taking breaks to take care of yourself. Looking forward to watching more of your videos again, feels like coming home.
The build is so cute! For the BB items, we have to keep in mind that they brought us a pond tool with a bunch of effects and things to add to them. I'm sure that had to take time/resources away from BB items.
The pond is not part of the pack, though. There's however lots of items connected to the animals and crops, that aren't in BB and take up space nonetheless.

Lovely, Deli! BTW, the small dresser/hutch is similar to a Welsh dresser. A few years ago, I found an old two-part hutch and cabinet which I refinished with light turquoise chalk paint. It looks fantastic. I added glass shelves in the hutch and replaced the mirrored back, and all the front glass. Now it displays special China, gran's old Brighton plates etc. Below the hutch, there is an open area with my "clutter", the shelves for China with solid doors. Love the piece! Have been offered much dollars, but can't part with it. This was a 3 month labour of love!
Shout out to James for the Google search of Hutch. The real MVP! I have a china cabinet and curio cabinet in my house but those are slightly different.
We have a lot of conversations, converted barns, windmills, churches.. that sort of thing. Just for something a little different to the traditional cottage 🙂

I think that the terrain paint with the stones and flowers are meant to be like stepping stones & blossom. We tend to have those sorts of things at the Riverside in the summer here in the UK 😊

the best way to get inspo is to go on Rightmove and search up houses in the Cotswolds, or the South Downs. That's what I've been doing in preperation, I've saved a lot of floorplans!

I live in Britain... Never heard it called a Hutch. We call it "a display cabinet"... Lol. It's where we "display" our China, like wedding sets etc, that are used for special occasions like Christmas etc. The every day China might be in the solid door part underneath. Most dining rooms have them. Plus maybe a sideboard. At Christmas etc you can put a hostess server on, which keeps the food hot.
I have a feeling this is going to be my favorite pack. So many new activities and an aesthetic I really like, especially things like the old wooden fridge. Also if there are less Items it is probably due to so much more gameplay and all the animals.

We call the 'hutch" a dresser here down south of England, not sure if it's different anywhere else! My gran has one in her cottage kitchen that she has her tea, coffee and bread bin on and uses it as storage for cereals and jars and stuff😊

To be fair, most people in the USA would think Aubergine some kind of French name (since we call them eggplants) and that Hutch is a tribute to a family name Or to the show Starks’s & Hutch (which you may not have heard of; it’s American & before your time. I got the pack a few days ago but have to wait till it's playable. I LOVE this idea SO MUCH!!! I've been making thousands of floor plans bc I am so excited!!!
I think it is just like in seasons where your plants don’t grow if it is not your active lot. So a crop island might not work. But I’m not sure since we can’t play it yet.
The pond is stunning and the house is so cute! Only thing I’d say is the front porch and the balcony feel a little more American farmhouse than it does British!

We call the 'hutch" a dresser here down south of England, not sure if it's different anywhere else! My gran has one in her cottage kitchen that she has her tea, coffee and bread bin on and uses it as storage for cereals and jars and stuff😊
My family calls it a "china cabinet" because that's where you keep the fine china lol

Here in Québec we called it a vaisselier! '"Vay-sell-lee-hay" Basically that french for "cabinet" or "dresser" for plates and utensils :)
Loved the name-my-kid bit! To be fair, most people in the USA would think Aubergine some kind of French name (since we call them eggplants) and that Hutch is a tribute to a family name Or to the show Starks’s & Hutch (which you may not have heard of; it’s American & before your time. Geez, now i made myself feel old.)

I think it is just like in seasons where your plants don’t grow if it is not your active lot. So a crop island might not work. But I’m not sure since we can’t play it yet.
The pond is stunning and the house is so cute! Only thing I’d say is the front porch and the balcony feel a little more American farmhouse than it does British!
