I think that ceiling fan joke would've been funnier if Zoidberg wasn't immediately hit by that second one, but instead was finally hit towards the end of the episode by that one in the court room. Having him immediately be hit after the fake-out was swinging the punchline too early.

Firstly, don't mistake news headlines for what science is saying. Always amazing the "fake news" crowd still don't grasp that when it comes to science reporting, but will accuse news media of lying for quoting a Republican verbatim.
Anyways, the evidence for climate change is an overall trend upwards which has resulted in more extreme patterns of weather during summer AND winter. In particular its having a pretty strong effect on El Nino and El Nina. There's also the changes to ocean currents and the melting of glaciers. Course I'm not an expert so I wont pretend to give you a comprehensive rundown.
The only reason you're opposed to this science is because the party you support decided to make it a political football because it threatens business interests. We saw it again recently with the pandemic, instead of working together and being sensible about it half the political spectrum lost their minds and started using vague Nazi language about their blood.
You're confused about what happened here, the science isn't conforming to one side, one side is conforming to the science but even their proposed efforts are a pretty bare bones response compared to what the science actually says and you lot still lose your minds.
If there wasn't a strong case for it you wouldn't see the majority of countries all over the world making some kind of steps to do something about it, a conspiracy that large would simply collapse not to mention what would even be the point? Its not profitable to invest in these new technologies. Despite the conservative hysteria, it doesn't give them any more control than they already had.
The idea global warming is staged is one of the dumbest conspiracy theories imaginable because it makes zero sense and the people with the kind of money to possibly do such a thing have a vested interest in stopping it i.e. oil companies and their owners. Yet you question government studies but not the ones funded by oil companies which are the only ones questioning whether its happening at all? Its right up there with flat earther shit. You let yourself become politicised to the point you've shut out reality, you're everything you probably claim liberals are.

@@burntThread Just so you know. This season was released in 2011. The creationists debate had been raging on the internet since at least around 2008 and long before then. The Ark Ecnounter, the creationists reconstructed version of the biblical ark that is literally physically incapable of being sea worthy, started to be planed and built in 2010.
In 2005 there was a pretty famous court case called the Kitzmiller et al. v. Dover where creationists had bought and used creationists books as science textbooks for schools that claimed evolution is incorrect and only God can have made the creatures we see today. Ofc here creationism was just rebranded as "intelligent design".
This is literally not a prediction. It is as much a prediction as it is a prediction you ate food at some point last year. This joke is only a commentary on the cultural debate going on in the US at that time. I know this because I was right there in that debate as it was very much prominent on TH-cam at the time. If this joke was made today it should most likely be focusing on trans stuff or peoples sexuality.
I understand that you might be to young to remember this, but this is 100% not a prediction. It is just literally history.
Also. Do you understand all languages in the world and can translate them all on the fly without a translator or a linguist? Just because you can't does not mean someone else can't.
