Nice video! I've had a roadster for about a year now and really enjoyed the experience, they are great value and drive really well too. There's quite a nice little community around them (mainly facebook groups, mr2roc and mr2dc), so finding some oem wheels etc. will be no bother.
I ran one for a while as a company car back in the day, I could get my laptop bag under the bonnet not much behind the seats and the rest in the passenger seat/footwell. Lots of fun, great handling but apparently time has shown that the 2nd cats can disintegrate and get ingested into the engine so check that they’ve been removed or it might be expensive! Otherwise a desirable little sports car as a toy, enjoy.
@@JonCoupland Can happen on any up until very last few made late 2005 on, there was a revision in the pistons on the facelift but only a partial fix. Yours has an aftermarket manifold fitted so the pre-cat breakdown won't be an issue for you. Watch out for excessive oil consumption though and change the oil every few thousand miles to try and prevent the oil consumption issue ever developing.

Thank you
I've actually now sourced some wheels so fingers crossed they will be on soon
I've been in the MR2 Drivers Club since 1991 definitely worth joining lots of regular meets.

Nice Jon! Really enjoyed this video. I am looking forward to seeing what your father finds when he takes a look at it!
That video is coming Wednesday 😀
I have black wheels on two of my cars, I feel attacked 😂
Personal preference 🤣
It's not stock ride height. It either has lowering springs or coilovers. Unless those are 22" tires...
I reckon it's been lowered

I believe this only affects the prefacelift model 👍☺️

Lovely looks great, the colour is Sable Grey.
Ah brilliant thank you
What wheel size are those
I believe (from the top of my head) 17
I don’t like black wheels either but those look ok. Sort of suit the car.
They are growing on me!
That does seem to be rare colour, most I see are a lighter silver or red.
Nice though.
Yes it's a lovely metallic grey
Those alloys are a hate crime
Yes they are horrible aren't they. Thankfully replaced with the originals 🙂😁
Pounds or dollars, yes I am jealous about what you paid for it.
GBP
I miss auto aerials
They are brilliant
Until they break 🤣
Lol bro explained where the fuel filler cap and engine bay is 🫣 and your roof ain’t great because you have “flappy ears”
Yes yes I did :) - because some people clearly aren't MR2 experts like yourself Alex
Im still watching but some things are pretty logic and doesn’t really need explaining I think
also normally you open the visor at the same time to take the roof down instead of when driving :)
Aircon was a option , some do have aircon by the way
Well good video, in the end I guess you don’t like mr2’s just wanted one to try
