Il ne faut pas donner de friandises aux marmottes. Ça les rend diabétiques et ça abrège nettement leur espérance de vie. En France, c'est désormais interdit. Par contre, je n'ai jamais entendu dire qu'elles étaient chassées. Tu as des sources ?
I understand your compassion. But it's a dilemma, we shouldn't, i think encourage wild creatures to confront our species, because on the whole/average we're terrible.

dude.... this animals can be kept in captivity cared for and re-wilded without issues.. feeding them carrots when they reproduce at a rate 14x higher than 30 years ago wont cause issue.. maybe if you learn to read; I wont have to do it for you. hawks and wolves are the same way... .are you really surprised that millions of years of evolution cant be undone with a carrot??
dear Carl ask your self why they reproduce at a 14x higher rate than 30 years ago. And take a moment to think about human evolution in terms of time, numbers, population and transformation of the environment. Maybe it's your turn to read something and then elaborate on what you have understood.

Marmot is essentially a big fat squirrel. They also can be habituated and friendly with humans, like squirels do.

They look like big squirrels 😊😊
They are basically Groundhogs. They have smaller ears then the American Groundhog because the climate is different.
You can tell that these marmots are used to the presence of the humans...usually they are not so social.

Feeding peanuts to marmots !!!! This is irresponsible!!! You're only pleasing yourself by giving inappropriate food to these little beasts!
