- Brenda Nantongo Katumba, General Katumba Wamala's daughter, has been describe by family members as a calm, humble and hardworking woman.
Nantongo had been back home for a year after completing her studies in the US. Nantongo died alongside her father's driver Haruna Kayondo after they were shot during an assassination attempt on General Katumba Wamala.
Olivia Komugisha went out to find out more about the two victims of the shooting.

Having read most of the comments below, I finally realize that many Ugandans are becoming less compassionate. We used to be very kind people but most of us have been hurt beyond measure by those that are meant to protect us. We have lost loved ones and failed to find justice where we should. We mourn with all those that have lost their loved ones unjustly. May God help Uganda 🙏

I remember going for a man's burial early in January and as the widow was weeping painfully, one of the mourners commented that she shouldn't be crying coz her husband had left her many riches. As if riches are more important than life!
