Iowa Derecho 2020

I found this one image which seems to sumerise the extent of the damage in Marion, IA, and addresses the delay in recovery as well.
The tree in the last clip, was torn up by the roots in the 120 mph winds. You can see for yourself what damage it did.
You had all sorts of prep time in Louisiana for Hurricane Laura. Iowa had a Sever Thunderstorm warning maybe 12 hours ahead of the storm. It hit just after 12:33 PM on August 10, 2020.
