Top notch tip on removing the plastic thingys from the garage door! You're really helpful. Thank you.
Love your videos man!!! Just started work at a residential/commercial cleaning service and your videos helped me a lot, much smoother and way faster now I appreciate it!!
Great video. A lot of good advice. In the UK our homes tend to be built out of brick, blocks or rendered so have a lot of mortar or concrete on them which can be a real scratch hazard
Good vid mate. I can highly recommend gumption to use on glass tempered glass with lots of concrete or render on. Also using a pump sprayer to prewet and soak the glass and frames helps with construction cleans that have a lot of “builders art” on them.
bro, great tips. I just started doing this work, was not trained. just given the equipment and told to do it.
We love Zep for constuction cleaning ! Even do all constuction cleaning with wfp too!
I'm always watching your videos I'm trying to learn more window cleaning tricks
👍👍👌👌✌✌
The video ain't boring brother thank you for that
Great job SteveO
Thanks for the tips. I have a construction clean up coming soon. This was very helpful
Tino' Pressure Washing pole should be there on the 10th...sorry I forgot to email you!
@@SteveOthewindowcleaner no problem. Thanks again. Can't wait to try it the trad pole.
Lot of good information here. From abrasives, to ladder placement, and about the dreaded construction clean up.
What was your worst construction clean up? This one frankly seemed "easier"
Chris Simmons this one wasn’t bad at all, worst one was during the winter and it took 3 days, had to use wheel barrels at the bottom of my ladder to stop it from moving and every window had a ton of silicone...I’ll never forget it
Love this video!
Great advice here. Hard to appreciate it unless you've done it.
Awesome Video, I learn so much every one you make. BTW I bought The Unger Hydro-Force, Best investment ever. Thanks Again
Good job amigo!!
Awsome thank you!
SteveO, do you ever use a solvent on CCU glass to remove paint, etc? I’m thinking of Bio-Solv in particular. Thanks.
Nice Video.
Man! New construction is brutal. I hear you on the "still get a little nervous"
Magic eraser though,,, what don't you know!!
Thanks steve!!
I just took on a new 15 house a year new construction contract.. I dont know why I did it lol
Jamie Brasnyo oh lord, that’s one thing we never want is a contract to do construction cleans...they just suck
I am cleaning construction windows for 30 years in Kanada. Here are some TIPS.
1-Check the windows, frames ,tracks etc. ,if there is any mortar, brick or other damage before estimating.
2-Check if all construction work completed like painting etc.
3-You are there to clean the windows once only.
If any tradesman makes a mess on cleaned windows ,you charge extra to clean again.
4-If you are cleaning supermarket or big box stores, you should start cleaning before FLOOR waded and displays set up.If you need to use zoom boom or aerial lift be careful about ,damaging floor finish .
5-Do not take any scratch responsibilities on windows.for any damage on contracts.
I’ve been a window cleaner for many years I think at least 15 years and I always use water with dish soap you get a razor blade with a scraper you use the steel wool apply everything the window in the water or the water in the soap to the window, scrape it go throughshit again and then squeegee it. That’s the best way to do the windows.
Great video & advice👍 magic erasers work great, I find the Mr.Clean brand work the best.
Elijah & Kristin Schwake thank you!!
Good job from a spanish window cleaner. You are so careful with the razor mate! im never scratched a window and I go waaay rougher with it
Limpiezas MyG thanks man, I’ve scratched a few windows in my time so I’m just careful with it.
I used to not like construction cleans, but as I've learned about the various types of glass and products available, I've grown fond of them. I like to try to work in the sun as much as is possible on em, because everything shows up clearly. I'm gonna try the magic eraser. I usually use acetone (brake parts cleaner) on a cotton cloth to remove silicone. Another handy thing is Bioclean. It removes hardware mineral deposits, paint, glue, just about anything from the glass without damaging the surface. Great for that tempered glass side with the silica specs embedded on the surface. Have you noticed that tempered glass is usually smooth on one side?
Scott W. Yes I have noticed that. I’m going to look into bioclean...thanks for the tip
@@SteveOthewindowcleaner Cool. It'd be nice to see you do a review on it.
***it removes hard water...not "hardware" auto replace is amazing sometimes. 😐
Yes. Tempered glass should be smooth on both sides. Ideally. But when the heated glass rolls over the rollers any dust or anything permeates the surface. I notice lots of shitty glass at my builders. Also why I've upped my price on French doors and stuff by about 5x. Amazingly; these builders so far haven't questioned it. I'm sure some cheapskate will get pissed at some point though.
@@lawrenceshdow Not many people know why the tempered glass is like that. You are correct. It's lack of maintaining a clean facility in the glass factories. Silica dust and specs sticking to the rollers. I have found that they usually don't take a lot more time to clean than smooth glass, but 5x??? If they'll pay it, I guess 🤯
shi** been fighting silicone for 23 years on glass never thought of magic erasers
always worried about em as they do change the sheen on paint essentially
super fine sandpaper effect
i guess its a 0000 equivalent in terms of impact on glass?
I feel like I’ve heard so many different opinions on razors. I want to feel confident in using them and knowing the risk, could you do an in depth video on something like that?
aww snap, did 2 of these this week.
dude, eat omega 3's for the tremors.. salmon or flaxseed oil!
Nice 💪 wow many Time your bronze pad still working? Sorry m’y english:)
what size razor do you recommend 4 or 6 inch ?
So you can razor tempered glass too?
Nice vid Steveo, follow you all the way from Denmark. Thanks for a lot of advise, tips and tricks, appreciate it 👌
How did you clean the small panes 12:44. I have a hard time at the moment cleaning them. Seems like the rubber always have a friction in the middle of the glass and I keep coming back to detail with a surgical towel. I try to fane them...
Oliver Hvass those are actually in between the panes, the dividers, but for French windows I fan as well
How would I get a scratch waiver?
I thought razor wouldn’t scratch a window as long as it’s wet? Razor is my go to and I feel nothing makes a window cleaner
Nice! I have to start using magic erasers more. Legitness 🤙🏻
Mike The Glass Guy best thing since glazed donuts....
if it had of been tempered glass and needed scraping etc, what would you do instead? apologies if i missed you answering this already in the video perhaps.
kymbo72 steel wool only and magic eraser
Is there any reason you can’t use a plastic scraper on glass?
Why do you need to always use bronze wool before squeegee it?
Difference on steel wool and bronze wool
"If ur 500lbs, ur probably not a window cleaner" lol
Nice work. I love cleaning virgin class🤣...
Hey SteveO where do you get your ladder leveler feet from?
get you a link in the AM
👍👍👍👍👍
What micro-sleeve are you using?
Lloyd Ledgister pulex micro tiger, this is there new colors
How much you chat te for this job ?
👉🏻👍🏻
What are your prices? I just started a window cleaning business and I want to make sure my prices are fair.
nocturnalsam depends on where your located, average pane at a home is $5 in/out
@@SteveOthewindowcleaner that's great thanks!!
New construction where I am is 10 lower level; 15 second story and up for exterior. Inside is 7 to 10 per pane including frames.
So a construction lower level in and out would be about 20 dollars. Now; some builders will never pay that. But the luxury home builders usually are more concerned that you are easy to work with and somewhat flexible with schedules.
This is just my experience in Minnesota. Im sure its way different certain places.
Nice vid but if never worked with sunglasses on,don't think I would be able to see the glass properly especially on a cloudy day.
ballsy blading at 10 ;20
that blade s draggin a lotta concrete grit.
I’m too chicken to do that
Whose responsibility is it to clean all the mess of the window sills and frames etc e.g. the window in the underground well was covered in cement and dirt. Is that your job or do you say someone else has to do it?
Matthew Jordan someone else!!
wonder how much that paid.. outside only.. jw.
Nelson Stack it paid nicely!!
Construction cleans are a bit like mother in laws, you've got to put up with them now & then ;)
Try every single day ☠️
Rs serviços Limpeza de vidros Pix 🍀
Yeah, that window isn’t that bad at all
I can’t stand screens😆😝
Steel wood I’m not recommend
Where's your rope and harness mate. Not very professional, not teaching good habits for people that are not formally with the safety side or things.
AUBIN MYERS rope and harness for what???
I’m assuming you are they type that like to fall off ladders and roofs
