Anderson did his thing! I think part of the fascination is that Anderson is considered a Rap artist & a drummer. Bruno is Always Excellent, on point & we expect him to always be outstanding because he is! Anderson (in terms of this type) of singing/showmanship is new to a lot of people & brings it too. They compliment each other so well. I like that THEY are Silk Sonic & both contribute so much!

You're absolutely right that this song is "So cheesy -" it's TOTALLY "camp!" But to REALLY get the jokes, you need to (a) watch the original SilkSonic video, the visual clues are all over it, and (b) have been there when the originals were hits, which you obviously weren't. The sly background work ("sip-sip, drip-drip") and Isaac Hayes quote of "Shut your mouth!" are a scream!
Of course, I STILL have to change the sheets after every listen... ;)

with what I think was the best music of my generation, the 60's and 70's, I am still in my 30’s in my mind, heart, and spirit due to
this kind of music. This song has such a great vibe!!!!! I sort of feel
bad for the younger generations as most of their songs don’t evoke
romance, yearning for someone, fantasizing of what could be… I sure
am glad young folks are making such great music again and that younger
people are getting the chance to listen and appreciate real singing.
