At double the cost of a Neca 1/4 scale figure, Mezco really could've included elbow and knee joints. The 6 inch version (that I own) has those joints. Still, he looks really good.
I disagree and see why Mezco did not add more articulation. The 7 inch Kongs articulation is not good and Kongs overall sculp looks better without elbow and knee joints.
I havent seen this figure up close yet(mine is on its way now) but im assuming the reason they left out a lot of articulation is at that size it would stick out like a sore thumb? The smaller 7 inch version has more articulation but is much smaller and harder to see the details. Plus more articulation may hinder its stability? From what ive heard its pretty heavy. If it falls off your shelf it might break something.

Great review. This is on the way and I have the steelbook movie (red case version) to stand next to this, along with the mini mezco king kong. In my head the setup should be pretty decent. Mrs is going to kill me 😂..... (she doesn't know how big it is)

Mezco actually did an 18 inch (possibly) figure of the Peter Jackson Kong. I remember seeing it on clearance at a Spencers or Suncoast I think years ago and always kick myself for not grabbing it. It looked pretty badass.
I was tempted to just buy the 7in version. I like the way that one looks too plus all the extras that come with it and the added articulation of the figure but the cheapest one i could find was $70. At those prices i might as well spend a little extra and get the monster size one. I still cannot believe i just spent $250 on a giant toy but the nostalgia growing up i loved King Kong. Now i g2 find a detailed T-Rex of similar size to go with him.
Late to the game here. But he's perfectly sized for 6" figures, and the Amber Collection of Jurassic Park figures from Mattel. Even the Super Colossal T. rex and the Super Colossal Indominus rex are sized to match as well. And Collecta made a 1:15 scale Triceratops that also goes well with the T. rex and Kong.

He stands pretty well, but he is for sure top-heavy. Mezco doesn't recommend placing him high on a shelf. But I feel like once you get him in a good balanced stance he isn't going anywhere.
I get what you’re saying but this was actually based on the book called Kong King of Skull Island where it acts as a prequel and a sequel of sorts to the original film. They even use the same artwork on the box from the illustrations inside the book.
I got mine for £165 with free delivery.i honestly think it's worth it.yeah there's not much articulation.but the quality and paint is as good as hot toys hulk.and articulation almost as good.and its bigger than hottoy toys hulk.its huge and heavy.worth the price in my opinion

I got this,amazing,6 inch figures fit in his hand.i have him holding vykor from Motu.one question,with mine his right leg dosent rotate hardly but his left does.each leg is a different sculpt.his left is more bent.is the right leg on yours the same?i can't hardly move mine
