Not gonna lie, the boss fights in this game are amazing. You always feel the rush as this very vulnerable human that has to beat these beast with your wits. And this only serves to make playing as Kong that much more god like. As a kid, playing the Demo with my brother and cousin was heart pounding. Getting the full game and playing together drove us nuts as we tried solving the puzzles around the lvls.
I vividly remember playing the demo on the PS3 inside a Target at the mall and the amount of anxiety and dread I felt when that controller started shaking from the v-rex....bruh...I’m 23 now and that still freaks me out.

The sounds of skull island when walking around as Jack was just bone chilling. It always made me feel immersed into the setting and I would always say to myself “oh can probably do this” or “nope if this was me I’d be a dead man” I played it so much that I flat out turned off the music and refuses to use crosshairs so I can just aim with practice and skill. What made this game so challenging was playing as Jack. You couldn't sprint or jump which are two main features that are in majority of FPS. Not only that but the enemies could always outrun you with the velociraptors being able to drag you away from safety. This game is amazing and I wish they remake it or even port it so we could play it on current gens.

He was a really big fan of Peter Jackson's Kong movie so this game feels really close to me. Ha ha ha so anyways I really miss my dad I wish I could even see him one more time. This isn't just the best King Kong game ever. No - it's one of the best MOVIE LICENSED games of all time. So many features they added to the game were genius, I don't even know where to begin. One of my favorite parts about this game is how there is no HUD. To find out how much ammo you had left, you'd hold circle and Jack would exclaim how many bullets he had left. "6 bullets on backup!" or "I'm dry!" for example. The spears were almost more fun than the guns, which is saying something. You could spear bait (such as the flying insects or grubs) and throw it to attract the dinosaurs to it. In some situations you even baited them into brush that you could then SET ON FIRE with a spear you lit on fire - killing the raptors. The balance between horror filled moments as Jack and the cathartic power-fantasy moments as Kong in this game was so perfect.
It hurts to see the Kong vs. 3 V-Rex fight without the rexes getting thrown down the waterfall lol You can actually just grab them and throw them down or use the tree where Ann is on to swing around and make the fight super easy, it was so much fun finding that out when I did this game as a kid

This game had so much potential. I wish there was a remake for it

I remember being like 4 years old playing the mission where you see a V rex for the first time and how terrified I was, legendary childhood video game no doubt

This game was a fine example of what was possible when you took a movie and expanded upon the concept to turn it into and interactive experience rather than cashing in on the IP to make a quick buck. I wouldn't mind more film-based games if this much care went into production
I had to replay this game like 20 times until I finally got a memory card and I enjoyed every second of it. All time favorite game on ps2

You still don't see games like this one very much these days, monster bosses are usually very gimmicky but all of these feel so natural and realistic.
I remember playing this game for the first time..it was one hell of a journey and i love every minute of it..now we need a new remake of skull island with new monsters from the monsterverse..
God, the two V-Rexes chasing you down the river a long with the giant bats distracting you was so overwhelming. I freaked out too much on this part cause of the chaos lol. I managed to beat it thankfully. Played this on the gamecube
