I am jumping in Brian !! Love to see your updates just started following you a few weeks ago . I am a stay at home dad trying to convince my wife for a few weeks now talking about eth and btc, we will start with around 0.05. I will have to think really hard how much to throttle funds though.. And recommendation on a solo miner ?
When I first got into crypto in 2017 I was buying about 10 different alts. I ended up selling all my alts for BTC during the high's from end of 2021. I'm not a trader at all & had no clue what I was doing. I know some alts will & have their uses, but my main goal was a long term hedge against inflation. To me BTC is the ultimate asset ever created. It's nearly a perfect. If people don't understand that, you can't make them believe. You have to do your homework which very few do. I bought my 1st 5 BTC under $8K. My average cost for all my BTC is $25K because I DCA constantly for all these years. I'm so orange pilled it's non debatable. It's such a scarce asset to have & it's disappearing from exchanges at an alarming rate & we haven't even halved yet. Unfortunately most people won't even pay attention until it hits $100K+ & then they start to pay attention. Great info on your vids!
While Bitcoin has plans for further updates, if no further development happened in the protocol, then Bitcoin as-is could still fulfill the role of a digital store of value (assuming this all goes in our favor).
Im a big BTC and ETH supporter for the past 3-4 years now. Wish I listened earlier when I was told about it. Now I try to learn a little about anything with some hype.
same here, but both are money, both have a very bright future. people don't understand eth and think it has to compete with sol and other l1s, study the tokenomics, study the usd and market cap charts and people will see why eth and btc are in separate categories than all others.
The problem is that all these projects claim to be decentralized or that they do things better than Bitcoin. But everything can be built on Bitcoin. It's all just noise that hinders the development of Bitcoin. There is no second best. There is only Bitcoin.
Interesting video to pop into my feed, considering I just converted the little bit of ETH I had (Roughly the amount mentioned in the title) to bitcoin a few days ago. I was going to mix up the portfolio a bit, but I feel I may becoming a bitcoin maxi.
brother study the eth tokenomics, sure in theory eth supply is infinite but in practice since the merge it has been net deflationary and this has been proven since 2022. over 369k eth has been burned while more btc has been mined and all other l1s are even way more inflationary. Both btc and eth are fantastic, don't fade eth.

@@Saimzznot sure what you’re not understanding. It’s simple. In order for ETH to be useful in real world transactions, nobody is going to want to pay 50 dollars gas fees in order to spend 100 dollars worth of eth. That’s not going to work with the average person.

all other l1s need to catch up to eth which they all lack the tokenomics and network effects to ever be a real threat to eth. lots of hype around sol as eth killer but study sol usd chart and sol market cap chart and then study the ones for eth and you will see. eth and btc are in their own categories. eth has already crossed the 'startup competition' chasm imo.
Super great take, I think this is very likely true as well. What is your opinion about wrapped BTc on ETH, like do you think ETH as an L2 of Bitcoin is ever a narrative that would take off?
@brainharrington I like wbtc, I think it's great for on chain use but still has small counterparty risk. But I'm not sure how eth would become an l2 for btc, I can see there being multiple chains that "win" but for different purposes and they could be interoperable but I think the real value of btc comes from its digital gold narrative, being sound money and a way to protect purchasing power. If btc somehow can have real smart contracts, not ordinals, and dapps that exist on eth and other l1s built on top of it then it would make sense that it can become a black hole that wins every crypto use case but I don't see that happening this cycle. People already call eth slow and expensive and btc is slower and can be more expensive in high use times. I think btc should just be the digital gold that is slow, steady and robust. But who knows crypto is crazy lol
