I flagpoled in the month of May 2024 to get pgwp and spouse open permit and visitor record for my son. This was the process : Drove towards Douglas border through Surrey in my car Crossed the border and we were directed towards USA border services and when we were at the border gate we were given a yellow paper document which said flagpoling then they checked our car as well as we were told to leave the keys in the car and windows open Went inside the USA border office and waited for roughly about an hour before we were processed and given a white document which said crossed border for flagpoling. We were then directed towards Canadian border and on entering we parked our car and waited for at least 2 hours (as we didn’t have an appointment) presented our papers to a cbsa personnel After 2 hours we weren’t asked any questions but were told to make the payment for the permits. So we got the pgwp permit for 3 years, my open permit for 3 years and a visitor record for my son for 3 years. Total cost at the border was around 200-300 CAD not able to recall correctly Now our profile : my wife had competed her MBA and was working part time with TD bank as senior funder for about an year, I was working with bell in TEER 2 category job and competed about 18months Documents we produced : Current permits (study permit of my wife and my son, my work permit) 6 months pay stubs and job offer letter Roles and job duty document ( if your company doesn’t give one then you can make on your own and self declare and sign the doc) Employment letter from your company stating your job duties and your compensation (this doc is not mandatory, take it with you if you get it) Passports for all who are applying Carry some food in your car the wait time is killing
Pro tip, if in case you get a rejection or negative result at one border you can still try at the other border too. There is no rule that you can’t do that. Secondly, be honest and upfront with the officer that helps.

Flagpoling has stopped for pgwp but it is still open for people who want to get their lmia or work permits extensions or new applications

You need to apply for Replacement document online
what if i do not have a visa on passport? (TRV). I cannot enter Canada?my TRV expired.
If CBSA ofificer does not issue you the permit then you need something to enter Canada

As you would be on restoration period so its not recommended to face the officer in this situation

Technically u needed to apply with Restoration if your pgwp is refused. Does not matter if u applied the same day of refusal or next day

You have both the options either flagpole or come via USA and ask for work permit on the entry
