Appreciate the close ups and sequential pointing out of the lead connections - from origin to insertion. Very useful video for us beginners as we look at lower cost options.
Really appreciate the video. I’ve had my 1008C now for 3 yrs or so. I have become familiar with its function and limitations. It is as you describe. Software is difficult to get used to initially. I fabbed a custom lead set as the ones supplied are too short. They have modular ends to accept standard multimeter accessories. I do find the information contained in waveforms enlightening for diagnostic purposes. Your video was awesome and I thank you for sharing.
Yes, please do a video of the calibration and a lot more, I just ordered mine and have zero experience with oscops, and the simple this is what you do instructions are great
great video and explanation, in the last few years I have gotten more into using a scope. My first on was the Hantek 1008C and I have made it work very well for myself
Thanks for the feedback I appreciate it. You are right the hantek is a pretty decent scope the software is a little clunky but once you get familiar it's not that bad.
This is awesome! Thank you! I should be able to tell if coil on plug coil pack isn't working correctly with this setup too correct? Would love to see a how to on coil packs!
I think I'm going to buy the the one you were using my question is in some advertisements it's listed as a data acquisition stand-alone if you power it will it record the data without the laptop being hooked to it
No it's totally reliant on the laptop and you can't record the wave forms it's all on real time which sometimes makes it hard to see what's going on without being able to replay it, I have used a screen recorder on my laptop to catch waveforms.
im a diy auto hobbiest looking for a first scope and narrow it down to this 1008c and the hantek handheld 2c42 or a used 2d42 thats the same as 2c42 just with a wave generator, they have 40mhz and 250msa sample rate.what would be the choice for those of you who know scopes and can recomend for a nooby like me
I'm not sure about the handheld. The biggest thing with the hantek is the software is pretty crappy and clunky to use and the leads that come with the scope are very subpar. I ordered new leads online because the ones that come with it literally fall apart. I have heard good things about the mini uscope but haven't personally used it.
Oh guess what i dicovered i was looking at the autell maxiscope .this is most likely what ill end up buying but as i was inspecting the cables and leads i just happened to see the word hantek on an inductive clamp???? So now im pretty sure somethings coming from the same place what do you think?
Ive seen these i like the 8 channells. but there is that low quality lead thing you mentioned and short cables .although as far as price goes it would be a good enough scope. If its accuracy is good and the software works right this might become a good tool to start with. Does it run on windows xp
I always hear bad things about the hantek but it seems to do the job when i watch videos! Which is the main thing. Everyone says the software is crap, can you zoom in on parts of the waveforms etc like i see the pico software does? Is it just because the hantek software is clunky/glitchy it gets a bad name? Or is it because it lacks a lot of features? Nice video by the way, thanks!
The software is definitely the weak part it's not as nice pico and there's no support. the pico is obviously a great scope but I think this is a great starter scope and does quite a bit as you learn it. the leads that come with it are cheap but the scope is so inexpensive it's worth upgrading the leads.
NICE CLIP EASY TO UNDERSTAND AMP CLAMP I UNDERSTAND DIRECTION IS IMPORTANT , BUT SECOND CHANNEL SETUP IS NOT CLEAR. ACTUALLY SAYING WHAT CHANNEL 1 AND CHANNEL 2 ARE ON A CIRCUIT DIAGRAM MIGHT BE MORE HELPFUL. I'LL LISTEN AGAIN TO SEE IF IT MAKES MORE SENSE SECOND TIME AROUND. i HAVE A 2 CHANNEL SCOPE AND AMP CLAMP SO I WILL GIVE IT A TRY ON MY RAV4
99% of the people that buy this scope, like me are new to them and I have no problem with the over veiw although you could have titled your video better, at least I didn't have to watch you open a cardboard box, been around a long time, I've pretty well got that down.
Excellent video, great help I am looking at purchasing one. Thanks for taking the time to share. Cheers

Thanks for watching and the comments I appreciate it!

@@HooptiesGarage I agree it can be a little clunky. The newer update seems better as far as cosmetics but still needs some functionality makeovers.
Your right not many good videos on the hantec .more videos please Thanks. Can extra long leads from amazon.
I'm setting one up right now. What's an attenuator and when do I need to use it?
This is awesome! Thank you! I should be able to tell if coil on plug coil pack isn't working correctly with this setup too correct? Would love to see a how to on coil packs!
It will be different.for coil packs I will make a video for that soon
thank you for you time realy goood video

ok i appreciate the video. have any others? do an update!? just got one, never scoped before
not a bad scope for a beginner.....i use it it's good but there is some hash/noise in measuring ignition coil
I've noticed it can be noisy as well I attributed some of that to the cheap leads that it comes with.

Awesome video just picked up a hantek. Did you use an attenuator on channel 1 because the fuel injector spike voltage?
Yes I believe I mentioned that but maybe not. Thanks for watching

It wouldn't surprise me both companies are in china

I am sure it would run on xp
whats the attenuator for? vital? what about checking diesel injectors?
Hey know how to setup the HT25 probe ignition secondary testing

I NOTICED YOU MENTIONED A T-PIN PROBE TO PIERCE PLASTIC SHEATH OF WIRE FOR CHANNEL 1 AND THEN RUN OTHER LEAD TO EARTH / GROUND/ CHASSIS
CHEERS
What software is that mine looks different or dose it go by the type of hantek ?
I would have to check exact version but I downloaded for the 1008c
Yea I think that’s why mine only a 4ch 6074be
I just like the way your software looks
What is the difference in A B C
Give me shout back on this what do you think?

Sorry to much talking.
lot of talking before the actual demonstration
