I love The Haunting of Aveline Jones, it is just the perfect spooky book!
I read this for Summerween 😊
The Lockwood & Co series by Jonathan Stroud is an all-time favourite series for me!
I really enjoyed the Katherine Arden and Victoria Schwab books!
I finished The Haunting of Aveline Jones yesterday and it definitely creeped me out! It has such precise descriptions of all the ghostly goings-on, loved it!
I just finished the 4th Small Spaces book yesterday - Empty Smiles - creepy 🤡 and a great end to the series 😊😢❤️
The bellwoods game is a good middle grade. Cute fall read
The darkdeep is a fun spooky middle grade with monsters and secret clubhouses on spooky islands
The Monsters of Rookhaven. The Girl in White... Definitely a scary one. The Clackity... That's really spooky too
These all sound so cute! I love the Cassidy Blake series and really need more spooky middle grade in my life
I love that series 😊
I 100000% agree with you on the reading of spooky books, love the spooky season but reading it... different story. I would recommend Hooky - not really spooky but sooooo good. Love it. Hooky Volume 2 came out not long ago.
I just read City Of Ghosts. It’s such a cute spooky middle grade.
The Haunting of Aveline Jones is on my to read list! Maybe for next spooky season, for now I'm a bit done with the spooky stuff as I spent the entire month of October reading all things spooky! One of those books was THE STITCHERS by Lorien Lawrence which was so fun and spooky! I think you'd really like it, if you haven't read it already!
Also, PROFESSOR GARGOYLE (book one in the Lovecraft Middle School series, which has 4 books) by Charles Gilman. It's not very ghosty the way you like them, but the books are very cool. The books all have covers that change depending on where you look at them from, I don't know how to explain it... There's probably a word for it. But they change from a normal-looking person to someone scary!
Serafina and the Black Cloak was really spooky and creepy
Hide and Seeker by Daka Hermon, Root Magic by Eden Royce, Mary Downing Hahn's books (Took, Wait Til Helen Comes), Lindsay Currie's books (Scritch Scratch, What Lives in the Woods), The Fright Watch series by Lorien Lawrence, The Jumbies series by Tracey Baptiste, and obviously everything RL Stine!
I'm excited to read City of Ghosts and Amelia Fang!
The Forbidden Library is a fun series. I am not sure if it would be considered spooky as it is more of an adventure fantasy style book. Its kind of like Harry Potter meets Page co.
Really enjoyed Arden and Schwab!!
Read and love some of these and there’s still other ones on this list that I’ve been meaning to get to for awhile!
It's a Flannel shirt. That's what people call them. That's the one from Primark isn't it? I've got the exact same one. So comfy and soft!!
Loved this video. So many great recs. I should get to those Neil Gaiman books though 👀🎃👻
i love the mystery of the black hollow mane !! btw i love your channel already ❤
I really enjoyed the Lockwood and Co series by Jonathan Stroud.
I would recommend Let the Monster Out by Chad Lucas. It came out earlier this year and I really enjoyed it and I'm not a big middle grade reader.
Have you thought of trying Johnny and the Dead by Terry Pratchett, or Dial-a-Ghost by Eva Ibbotson? They may not be as scary as your picks in the video, but I feel they fit the Halloween theme quite well.
The Witches by Roald Dahl! A classic!
I highly recommend The Book Of Lost Things 🎃🦇
I'd recommend The Keeper by Guadalupe Garcia McCall and Ghost Girl by Ally Malinenko. Had me spooked on more than one occasion.
Currently reading Ghost Girl and I agree!
I love your Halloween decorations Jade- Happy Spooky Season. I'm planning on reading Dead Good Detectives by Jenny McLaughlin for Halloween. I will have to check out Potkin and Stubbs.
Try the glass witch it's a debut this year
Love the City of Ghosts series
I love the flannel shirt Jade!
Loving all of these ❤
Neil Gaiman is such a great author 😩
I love this video and I love grown ups who talk about middle grades! I'm a 6th grader booktuber so I read a lot of middle grades and even though some is not great - a lot really is! I am going to try city of ghosts after this! I review audiobooks on my channel - so I'll listen to it and let you know! I subscribed to you too!
The Small spaces series is amazing too 😊
The next Aveline Jones is out October 27th! 💙
I think that fabric is called gingham Jade
